@@sabinetsamtsukakis4031 Hi Sabine , I currently listen to Tara Brach and Sam Harris and currently you can listen to Tara free and Sam is free for 30 days on the waking up app. So much good has come from me just sitting every day and paying attention to my thoughts which are random and finding stillness. Don't wait , there is no way you can fail at this just sit and notice . I wish you so much luck ....go get it

One of most clearly articulated reasons as why you should meditate. The whole "First off, the reason to meditate is not to be comfortable or to feel good. If that was the purpose then most of us would feel we are doing it wrong, most of the time. You'll be glad to know though it's not to feel bad either. But really to have an open, compassionate attentiveness with yourself with whatever is going on. To cultivate and nurture a steadfastness to oneself." Was such a game changer moment for meditation for me because exactly like she said, I expected to feel good and "quiet the mind" when I meditated and every time that didn't happen I would be discouraged and usually give up for a bit. But I felt it was important so kept coming back. Hearing Pema Chrodron tall here solidified this is the right path to travel on

It looks like Ani Pema turned this lecture into an article for the Shambhala Sun, and also appears to be part of her book "How to Meditate". A link to the article: pemachodronfoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/5-Reasons-to-Meditate.pdf

this is all so true and so awesome but why then is it so hard. if it is not for happy then how can i make it how?? please how do i possible feel love and that i can be.. ok. why is it so hard when the gampo is so far away to sit in my own space and actually do what i know i can to feel better at the end of sitting. why am i so jumpy and ill at ease why is there no one who wants to be around me why do i want that which is not here. i hope someone will call. i know all this is the way through, i wish a buddhist nun will guide me. do i need the temple to live in to get it right. to give it all up to find what inner peace and contentment are. i am so tired. i want world peace and my own. obstacles 🔔you said laugh at them before. like mother Tara. i do get in my way. still, i just would like someone to help me see how i get through how i remove the physical stuff in my brain which dont work. mentor buddhism mentor work mentor stuff. this is expectation, love? isnt that just free if only someone decides they want to give it, yet i am so fraught with the idea i want that and i just dont want to be unhappy or others to be unhappy. i really must be blind even if my eyes are outside 20/20. can you help me not to be so blind. Namaste

this is nonsense! Trading one mindset for another is not liberation.
@yoyonostring2147
@yoyonostring2147 4 года назад
All you're doing is reorienting your perspective from the mind to what's watching it, and within doing that you'll find you're no longer identified with the noise going on between your ears. That's the liberation. It helps seeing meditation or mindfulness not as a means to an end (liberation) but find merit in the doing itself. Why not be present with your mind, thoughts, and surroundings? This moment is the only moment you have so be with it as closely as possible.

@Alexander Mormorunni Are YOU worried about suffering? To breakthrough that impediment without self repression, delusion or sublimation should be the goal. Feel good exercises in futility are comforting but so are alcohol & narcotics. Delusion, addiction to comfort and avoidance of pain are the PROBLEM.
