I’m a new subscriber and welcome to Tennessee. I’ve lived in East TN my entire life and I can’t imagine living anywhere else. Lots of people are moving here. Hope you love it as much as most of the people do who live here. God bless you and your family.
Thank you, we are leaving in 3 months and I’m being called to TN too. I don’t know why but this is the 3rd time in my life I’ve been pulled/pushed to do something scary. I know it’s best if I listen and not fight it. I know God knows what he’s doing but I don’t. We will sell our home here in Commiefornia and pack up our two dogs in our camper and look for land. I’m a former marine (1st time) and soon to be a former Deputy (2nd time). All I can do is trust that God knows what he’s doing while I do my best. Thank you for the encouragement because I’m scared I’ll fail at taking care of my tiny family. I pray every night that I’m strong and smart enough. Prayers to all who are looking to escape the insanity.
I just spent three and a half years in Portland, not too far away from where you guys were. To say it was an absolute nightmare for me is a massive understatement. It’s one of the darkest cities I’ve ever lived in. I moved back to Nashville, my home town, three months ago and wow, talk about a different way of life, yet again. TN truly is God’s country. Sounds cliché, but it’s true.
I love this comment…. I live in Portland and believe it’s the darkest place in America. I grew up in rural Montana, and am drawn to Tennessee… I’m going there in two weeks to seek a home, a love, life, and hope!
@@kunztuber It really is. I moved to Portland in early 2019, and it was amazing. I fell in love with the place, even though it had it’s issues at the time. Fast forward a year later and it turned into Gotham City immediately, as you know. The lockdowns and riots absolutely destroyed that city and it was unrecognizable, compared to what it was a year earlier. The completely insane communist tyranny turned the libs up there into absolute mask nazis. I was yelled at basically at every establishment I walked into if my nose was over my mask! 😂 Unbelievable. I lived in SE off of Powell and that area is taking a nose dive pretty quickly. I don’t think there is anything that can save that city, no matter what Ted Wheeler says he is or isn’t going to do. Now I’m back in the South where I belong for the time being. I’m around nice people with families that have traditional morals and values who aren’t walking around stoned or just being completely unhinged. Check out TN when you’re down here. It’s a different, more sane way of life down here. 👍
I moved to the Vancouver, WA area back in 2008 and thought Portland was such a cool, laid-back, and fun place. I loved going to the SE area but then things just went downhill fast. It really is the darkest city I have ever been to and it is definitely spreading over to the SW Washington side. Being there during the height of the covid stuff was such a nightmare. I moved to a small town about an hour from Nashville in January and love it. I haven't spent much time in Nashville at all, but the couple of visits I have made were good. It definitely has a better vibe/spirit to it even for being a big city. I look forward to exploring it sometime.
Similar story here.. moved from WA to TN officially the beginning of August, bought our home back in April. We really felt called to come here and had looked in east TN first, but ended up an hour outside of Nashville in cute small town on a beautiful piece of land. The home still needs work, but we are mortgage free . We feel so very blessed. Praying that my boys will make the move here. I really miss them. That’s the hardest part for me is being so far from my family.
@@christyb7590 And we hope that people there will understand the troubles and strife we have seen out here in L.A. I don't want any more to do with this sinking ship of a state, I am looking to go somewhere that I have people of like mind and sensibilities as my neighbors.
Moving from WA State to TN this week! We've had it with the direction that WA has headed and want better for our family, especially our kids. Thanks for posting videos like this. It's so encouraging!
My son moved last year to an area outside of Nashville - we are going soon. Your video was a little nudge, and a great blessing. I trust Him. He will get us to Tennessee if that's what He wants -- I hope so!
I was born in eastern WA and have reluctantly realized that my home has been destroyed and I can never return. I have really set my sights on rural NE TN.
I'm a native East Tennessean (Blount County. Maryville to be precise.) and NE TN is beautiful, with the Appalachians as a gorgeous backdrop (just like my county) but I have to warn you that the land prices are going up and people are buying homes unseen, just like this lovely lady is speaking about. If you're really wanting to buy a home in East Tennessee or Middle Tennessee, my advice to you is stay on top of it every day and, if you see a home you like, I jump on it and try to make an offer or a way to see it ASAP; homes and land are going THAT fast.
Welcome. However, I wish people would not encourage others from out of state to move here right now. Traffic is becoming a nightmare. Housing is not affordable anymore. I wish people would wait until our infrastructure can catch up. Everything we love about TN is changing. Arkansas is pretty too. Check it out.
Thank you for sharing! May God continuously lead you and your family having mercy on you! 🙏❤️🌹 We also live in WA and are considering moving to TN too.😊
Hello new neighbor, Pastor Fred here in Rockwood TN. Welcome to TN!!! I pray for you and your family to find here what God has led you here for. Just last month, a person moved to our little town from WA state, and is finding this is where God called him. Don't know where you are, but want you to know you are welcome at our little Bible teaching church. Rockwood is just off Interstate 40 between Knoxville and Crossville, last town in eastern time zone... May the Lord bless you in your journey!!
Your story is so similar to ours. We moved to Tennessee from southeast Washington last year. I was born and raised in Washington State and lived there most of my adult life. After my husband and I both retired we visited a relative in Tennessee and knew this is where we were meant to be. This is our "forever home". Love it here.
We, too, are moving to TN as soon as I retire. Looking at the murfreesboro area. WA state is such a dumpster fire. We've traveled there two years in a row, immediately felt like home. God bless!
Nice story and glad you and your family are happy here in Tn. ,gonna tell your story to my wife as we are beleivers also and have a special needs son also! You all take care and stay warm! Chris from Carter County Tn.
I REALLY wish I could talk to you. I am considering a move from CA to that same county, to the tri-cities area. I don't have any other social media to reach out to you on, please see this and respond, thank you,
As someone who came from Africa and landed in Portland 10 years ago I can surely say alot has changed and its not the same old nice Portland of 10 years ago ...I feel drawn to Tenessee even though I know very little about it but my heart and gut feeling tells me my family will have a better quality of life there than in Portland. Thanks for sharing as it allows me to learn
My little family and I have a very similar story. We moved to rural TN a little over an hour from Nashville from SW Washington this past January. My husband grew up in Washington and never thought he would move from the PNW. We thought we would stay in WA or move to the Idaho panhandle, maybe Montana. We love those areas as well but they just did not work out at all for us. We drove through TN last fall on a southeast road trip to visit loved ones that I have in SC and felt like maybe it was where God might want us to look. Last year it looked as though my husband would lose his job due to the mandates so we had to move where we would be able to afford to live (and homestead) off of his military retirement. We prayed and followed the Lord's lead as to where He wanted us. Originally we still wanted to stay in the PNW but then started looking at eastern TN for a home but that was a dead end. We ended up stumbling across the listing for the home we ended up in and it was such a God situation. There is no other way to explain how we ended up with this house, the property we have, and the price. We bought sight unseen, just trusting that the Lord had paved the way for us. It was definitely a whirlwind but best move. I am so glad we are where we are (though I do miss PNW restaurants and being closer to grocery stores!). It has been so great in so many ways. I feel like I am constantly getting confirmation that this is right where God wanted us. Since getting saved 10 years ago I have had a dream to open up an equine-assisted ministry and I'm so excited to finally be on enough land that we will be able to do that. Hopefully soon, in the next year or so. I look forward to following your journey here. It's comforting to be reminded that we aren't alone in this WA to TN homestead adventure.
His bless you in your journey. We were led to Tennessee as well. I prayed for Gods to lead us and He did. We bought an amazing 100 year old log home in northeast tennessee.
My family moved from Puyallup, WA to Middle Tennessee five months ago. It was the best move we have ever made. Washington State’s biggest pro is the geography. The state’s biggest con is the number and mentality of Washingtonians themselves.
So many people moving from the West Coast to Tennessee. I hope they don’t bring their radicalized leftist politics. I’ve met several people who have recently moved from Cali, Oregon and Washington. They all love being here. Especially the ones drawn living in the mountains in the west coast.
We moved here from El Dorado Hills, California, in January, 2022. There are some liberal enclaves here but thankfully, they are few and far between. We love Hendersonville and the people could not be more kind and normal.
TN is a hardcore red state outside of Nashville and Memphis, which are basically the only democratic strongholds in the state. Tons of God fearing good hearted people live out in the country side, which makes for a better living situation. We love our guns here too, so get used to that. 😂👍
Awesome. God is always faithful. I know you said you didn't want to share where you live. Curious what city or metro area though. Because cities can be so different. Can you share that?
My wife and I are considering a move to Chattanooga. We are planning a visit later this year. Any other areas that we should be considering with great mountains?
Welcome! I'm from Alabama, but I ended up in east TN by way of Washington state. I still am homesick for Washington. The people here in TN are....hard to trust and I feel like I have to be something I'm not all the time. I'm a conservative, etc, just feel like an outsider....Not to mention missing the access of nature in Washington. I know God brought me here, I just feel so alone even after all this time and everything is a struggle.
That is interesting. I have found the opposite to be true. I never could trust WA people. They were cold, unfriendly, and just out for themselves and what they could get from others. (Not all of course). Even now, my husband is back visiting WA and thinks people have become even worse there and described it as almost like mad max now. He wrestles with that because that is where he grew up and never thought he would leave. Here in TN, we are finally experiencing what it is like to have a strong community that is becoming like family. So often I've been blown away by how kind, caring, and considerate people are. I pray things turn around for you and you find a community that is trustworthy and has your back!
@@ejbarrelracing I live in L.A. and am planning to move to Tri Cities area or Clarksville in spring. I wish I could talk to someone about this, someone who could lead me in the right way, point the direction, be of some service, Might you be able to reply here?
