*Govt of Pakistan has threatened RU-vid MANY times* that it will ban it if it shows anything offensive to Pakistan or Islam dunyanews.tv/en/Pakistan/555528-SC-hints-at-banning-RU-vid-in-Pakistan
i swear ive watched a lot of videos on youtube abou killing and violence and sex but i never saw the title age-restricted only on a video about womans looking for treatment as human in their country
Looks like it's a triple whammy. RU-vid seems to like quantity over quality, so shallow content is better than heavy topics. Then, there's the fact that RU-vid often demonotizes LGBT stuff. And last of all the video probably got reported by someone.
- no nudity - no hate speech - no violence or bloodshed - just one acid attack victim sharing her ordeal - one transgender in full clothes telling life story. - deals with gender equality, a global problem not just related to one country. Let's just age restrict this video. This is too much offensive.
@The Unbeatable Those who are ignorant and have less knowledge would always criticize RSS. I am active RSS member. I am proud of it. I stopped watching vice for a long time after their bias, Alvi-esque coverage of India. It was stupid at best. Yes! we want to create a Hindu Rashtra. We will do it irrespective of the time or effort it takes. There is nothing wrong in that. We are augmenting our membership everyday. More and more intellectuals are joining us from every stream of work. We are fortunate to have a network that can support billions in our nation. I am proud of it.
Why has this been flagged as inappropriate/offensive by RU-vid? Seriously? Not one warning but two. Three warnings now 😂. Just incase you get it wrong the first two times. Also, the regular share button is nowhere to be seen.
This is because RU-vid does not want to create a stir with the Pakistani authorities as this content isn't exactly what the authorities would see as 'favourable' or even appropriate considering in mind the narrative. It is either that or then due to a large number of people flagging it because they are opposed to the actual message that is being conveyed in the video. Either way, the fact that it requires a confirmation, three times, and does not have a regular share button is ridiculous.
It's disappointing that alot of the Western Feminist movements seem to ignore the injustice in these nations. I mean they could legitimately do so much good but so many just...dont
I am of Pakistani descent, I have daughters, Granddaughters and nieces. I for one will always stand & fight for women's rights. My daughters are educated to University degrees and I am very proud of their success. Many of my nieces are in the same boat and I have so much pride that My Father raised us this way. Freedom & Education for all the Women of the world!!!
I'm from Pakistan.. And believe me I'm so sad... I have 4 sisters... 😢 Pakistan is not worst country for Girls.. But also.. For Boys.. I stand with these brave 👭 women.
Why this is consider offensive contect when other "why we protest" aren't... because it has to do with gender equality?! RU-vid pull yourself together!
Pakistan is a nation of 250million+, 99.8% of which being sunni muslim, making this a highly problematic story for vice and youtube considering western sensitivities towards xenophobia. Keep that in mind and trump2020 (:(:(:
I am from India and last week a Dalit girl( Persecuted class of people in India) was brutally gang raped, they cut her tongue and broke her spine and was murdered. The police burned her dead body without her families consent to destroy evidence while the family was forcefully locked in their home. Her wailing mother was robbed of the chance to see her dead daughter for one last time. Now the police officers are saying there was no rape and the District Magistrate is caught on tape threatening the family. The police are not allowing the family members to meet with the media. She was a poor girl from a poor family, violated and discarded like garbage. I hope the brave women of Pakistan gets their well deserved rights and equality.
And state govt. Is not responding, it has many chances that state govt. Is involve in this, they dont even let the media to talk with her family members , the DM threaten her family member he kick on chest of the father of that girl becuase he was belong from dalit society. Still PM OF OUR COUNTRY NOT MENTION THIS BRUTUAL ANF HORRIFYING CASE ON TWITTER. WHERE SHOULD GO FOR JUSTICE?
@@Priyanka-bq4ze 5 mid ranking police officers have been suspended and the case has been handed to the CBI for further enquiry govement have acknowledge that police officer where in the wrong.
I know why RU-vid labelled this as "offensive". Because topics like these are sensitive or offensive to the Pakistani Muslim male which is deemed to be oppressed and marginalized.

Nvm 😂😂😂😂😂
Its such a shame that youtube has become so paranoid about any sort of backlash from people they deny the ability to share content like this. This is incredibly important content wich needs to be shared, yet i cant. Why.
I admire your love for people. I feel the same but islam is an archaic religion that undermines women and treats them as second class. Even moderate muslims do not accept gay and trans people. This is 2020 there is no place for these ideas
I knew many muslims who weren't like that at all. And every religion has its fanatics. Weather it be devout or extremism, they can go to far. Christians are no exception.
But I see us as a species causing our own extinction before then. Either one could be considered a win or lose so who knows. I just want everyone happy and healthy. Ah to dream.
@@C-64 If it didn't matter, then why point it out? Its just an extra detail giving you more context about his background. I'm a american white female, want to come at me?
@@v4mpir1sm , “if it didn’t matter why point it out?” Well you can point out a lot of things that don’t matter. And sure I’ll come at you too. Tell me, how does your white female background matter here? Should I be more intimidated over a white woman over a Latino man? See how you can make pointless statements that don’t matter? Background shouldn’t matter when giving support, it should only matter if it’s an exception or if it’s used to contradict anyone who tries to make their argument seem more important because of their skin color, when used like this it helps to show the hypocrisy of people.
I truly don’t understand how woman can still be treated like second class citizens or even slaves in the year 2020. If it wasn’t for woman, then families would crumble. It’s the woman who holds the family together. Regardless of religion, I truly believe that woman should be treated with more respect, etc. Men in these other countries need to think how they would want their children, mother’s, and grandmothers treated. I would think they would want them to be treated with respect, etc...!!!.. Once again I have to say; IT’S THE WOMAN OF THE HOUSE THAT KEEPS THE FAMILY TOGETHER!!!
I support you idk where these men get the ideas of abortion and women have no value from, the prophet (SAW) said I father who takes care of daughter properly, by giving her her rights, it’s as if paradise is beneath his feet
People who personalise and generalise their own personal experiences and situations, and then use this to taint a whole section of a community are the ones who cause the most damage.
ICARUS 10inch there’s muslims who don’t follow The proper teachings of Islam. Like there are Christians who don’t follow the proper teachings of Christianity. They’re not good muslims who oppress women.
@@BillliusGames yeah. No. We have women in every field. Even defense. They're not forced to cover their faces. Freedom to choose their profession just like men. Freedom to choose religion . Or be an atheist. No one cares. Also, we dont fuckin stone you if you're LGBT. So...yeah
I love their chants. They're so passionate. Their pain is real. They're risking so much but I am happy SO HAPPY for them. 🤩🥳🤗 They're the ones who will make generations to come PROUD and say THAT'S WHAT MY MOTHER AND GRANDMOTHER DID! Just as we do in America when our women went out into the street for basic equal rights. I'm native so Our ancestors fought for our land and therefore we are still here. We enjoy so many freedoms and I'm proud of my people, direct relatives, who occupied and protested the government. They're saving the woman. Their daughters. Their sons. Their culture and humanity.
@@lovecakesandweed that old chestnut. Lol. Wow you have truely sold yourself out to the dirty side. What rights exactly are these women protesting about?
@@lovecakesandweed What exactly do they want more? You want EQUAL rights? Why don't women build the roads, build houses, mine underground and do all these labour-intensive jobs? @@herbiehysteria OK I know you are lost I am not mad at you just read. Where I come frome men will put into prison if they r*pe a women. Support for the Aurat march from India . I hope we both country, love each other and create a union like EU someday. This 21st century is women century and I hope women help to make this century more peaceful and environment friendly. Again, women is just another gender just like men. I wish the fall of patriarchy and rise of gender equality. ❤️ And education is the key to the goal.
Start by using Line app to unite the mass of women to form a organization, use Facebook or what ever than get everyone to join line app to form the ultimate union
I dont think thats gonna happen, cause our political parties use this india vs Pakistan thing for their elections, they somehow insert patriotism here, votes are nowdays given on this topics instead of development, healthcare, education etc.. India is becoming more Islamophobic and it will only get worse ;(
@@ankurdwivedi5023 how is india misleading people against pak? Did you decide to neglect pakistans aid to crossborder terrorism and all the attacks? How stupid and dumb you'll like to be.
Finally a content that actually addressed the problem in my country in a neutral view and got the story of the opposite side to the masses. This is the Vice I was missing for a long time.
It *is* hard when this society is largely misogynistic and patriarchal and such men (not all men obviously) aided by their female allies (yes female misogynist exist) are afraid of losing that power and control over women. Such people will do anything, even kill, to keep that power and equality is naturally a threat.
They seem fine to me. What exactly is wrong? Islam and the Constitution protects women. These fools are venting over their own personal experiences and situations and are destroying a country by doing so.
@Proud Pathan Horrible deamonic bastard of a comment. What's your reason? Did some random Muslim hurt you once? Or did some Muslim shopkeeper accidentally short-change you once. Is that your reason you are spreading your poison. YOU know full well how women are to be treated in Islam. They are elevated and protected to a high degree, but of course, that doesn't fit your narrative.
Want a world where there nothing called women harrasment etc... And we don't have to make list... Not only in my country india but also pakistan, us, Yemen, Saudi, all
Initially, I had to watch this due to an Anthropology assignment on Gender. After watching though, I can see how important this topic is in Pakistan. Great work on Vice on documenting this and amazing job on the women organizing and being active in the marches. This was beautifully documented, and the words really struck me. It's a damn shame it's age-restricted, very smooth RU-vid...
Nimmie Rocks ask a woman if she can go out after 11:00 PM alone. You’ll get your answer. Freedom can never be present without a sense of security. It’s true that our metropolitans have made huge leaps in women freedom but the situation in tier 2-3 cities and villages is not encouraging.
The methodology of the Thomson Reuters Foundation reveals that it is based on a survey of 548 respondents who were asked, which five countries according to them were most dangerous for women and which country was worst in terms of healthcare, economic resources, cultural or traditional practices, sexual violence and harassment, non-sexual violence and human trafficking Was it right for Thomson Reuters Foundation to rank the nations just on the basis of perceptions of experts without even disclosing their names and without using any government data?
Probably. Given that the topic is sensitive enough that governments can and will misrepresent and these "experts" likely become targets for more violent reactionaries
Love from India. More power to all you women. Hope you come through and shatter this toxic patriarchy that has troubled both our countries for ages. 🙏🏻
Man I am lucky do be a man, I’m from pakistan but my entire life I’ve lived in Saudi, Tunisia and Dubai, but when I go to Pakistan, (Karachi) I don’t think I ever realized what was happening to women, this sort of stuff never happened in my family though, although I have to admit I don’t see a lot of women in the streets, only in places like mall etc
They blame it on the religion, i'd say it's their culture. Religion should be aligned with economic, science and politics (take it or leave it). But one thing for certain, you should never ever mix religion with culture.
@pissoff61 my statement is in no way expressed towards you personally, just a general statement... I just wish small minded people would understand that fair and equal are not always the same thing. Sometimes biological males & biological females don't directly compete against each other because it wouldn't be fair based off of human genetic differences between men and women. Intramural sports for example are a equal opportunity sport but that doesn't always make it fair for the females on the teams
The survey is completely based on the population of the country and not on the rate of safety for women. Example: 1)Let's say the population of India is 1000 women. And 200 women have faced assault. So the rate is 20%. 2) Now let's take Honduras for example where the women population is 100 and 20 are assualted. Then the rate is same as India. That makes Honduras equally bad for women as India.
Oh yeah. Living in Peshawar, Pakistan I'm telling you. The handmaid's tale made me cry. Although it was another extreme, if we don't take steps today, Pakistan will be another gilead
@@mominaiftikhar8857 I’m Pashtun, went to Peshawar for the first time this year and it’s so sad to see how backwards our culture really is. I was born and raised in the states and had no idea what some women out there were facing. It’s heartbreaking
Thank you for shedding light on a topic that is often swept under the rug! Misogyny is deeply rooted in people’s minds (which then bleeds into the wider systemic, socio-economic and community frameworks). I personally feel it’s perpetuated by old fashioned cultural beliefs. (Which is a polar opposite to what Islam teaches) I hope this issue along with the various upsetting acts committed against women are stopped forever. Peace.
You can tell how much a society is worth by.watching how they treat their woman! If they have no respect for their mother and sister, how are they different from a pig?
1:25 - How can it be more dangerous for women in India than in Somalia, DR Congo, South Africa, Jamaica, Colombia, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala & Mexico?!
Cause India is a country where cases are registered in high number so statics shows they are the most exploited one against women. It's unfair that statics doesn't show the accurate data because no cases are filled in other countries where such things take place in high number too .
Using the term "Islamize" to describe a process without any logical research, is mere absurdity. If Pakistani people decide to enforce a law relating it to Islam without any foundation, then it's their derailed mentality, not that of Islam. Stop this hate speech against our beliefs. Just stop it. You and those people criticizing the hideous laws against women have no right to relate the laws to Islam. Period.
This islamic YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING attitude ... what if we know more than you know? What if we have the knowledge of true God, who plainly says you have a devilish religion of satisfying your lusts?
@@Tomzupp You know about Islam more than I do! The issue is that I wish I could dare you, but I know it's all in vain here. You know about shiekhs and clerks but not about Islam Matt. Rest assure that the collective culture in all the Islamic countries has nothing to do with Islam itself. It's nothing but social creeds been infused into Islam. It's all about nomadic culture exploiting the whole religion for its favor. FYI, it's the same with all other religions. So, get logical.
@Proud Pathan So if a religion addresses sex whether with a slave or a wife you and the others, of your alike, consider it as degradation to humanity! Are you serious about this? If a prophet got married to 200 women, then the prophet was a hypocrite! Are these your points of argument? Are really serious? You leave something like Zakat, which solves all the miseries and talk about speculations and lies! Logic is the father of all sciences and arguments and obviously you don't want to subjective. You're repeating the same old nonsense that has lead to what we have now! I'm not calling you to believe in Islam by any means. I only call you to respect your mind.
@Proud Pathan but did you know about the recent rape case. If it was Muhammad s.a.w he would be stoned to death but he is not even found yet in pakistan. Where is the islam?
@Proud Pathan You're a fool. You try to highlight what exactly? The polygamy of the prophet pbuh? To prove what? You can find what his wives have said about him. In fact, Ayesha (ra) is the biggest scholar of Islam and has provided the most narrations about him and his character. You say Qur'an talks about sex with slaves and striking women. You don't have any understanding of the verses you address but make it sound as if this is what the Qur'an promotes. To go into detail, you can't have sex without marriage, and furthermore, the verse where it talks about striking your wife is within the context of admonishing them for abuse. Putting to bed now everything you mentioned, you have failed to mention how heaven is under the feet of the mother, how the best of the men are those who are the best to their wives, how there is a whole chapter dedicated to the Qur'an which speaks about the rights of women to marriage, inheritance, ownership etc. So you're not really genuine or sincere in this discussion are you? Now go run to your islamophobic website and find some verses to twist
People forget about why youtube has deemed it offensive or whatnot. Take the message of the programme. I was inculcated to be very anti aurat March, that was only because my dad is quite an old school pakistani. But after having watched this clip I say "go you"...amazing Allah raised the status of women so high that He placed heaven underneath her feet. What the aurat march is about is about equality, love and compassion. Amazing ladies keep up the struggle and inshallah inshallah. Hope you get there.
I’m from Pakistan and I really hope OUR CULTURE continues to move in the direction of love for all and hatred for none like our Faith. I hope more people from my native country seek the education out that truly makes them value our power in uniting and seeking justice for all
Lol I'm Pakistani and the main criticism for aurat march and our feminist movement is that it's "man-hating" and "anti-islamic" so lol feminism is globally viewed this way
@Garuna lmao youre telling him that he didnt get attention from girls in high school when youre the one who hates men? This should probably be the other way around.
I support all the struggle women doing, they are half of our population. They need to have their rights so they can play their part in Pakistan's growth. May you achieve success in your struggle!
Situation of women in thirdworld countries is very pathetic. Reformation become more hazardous whn religiom has power. Religion always stand as barrier for growth. Support to strong womens from india🇮🇳

Why would youtube try to discourage me TWICE from watching this video claiming it could be found offensive but every other video on RU-vid, showing drugs, or blood and guts is considered fine? I’m really bothered by this...
If I remember right, there was a Middle East/India IG model. Her own brother killer her cause she was doing that. The same people who spoke up about it that would be call misogynist spoke up about it.
Anti-Islam - I draw Muhamad everyday first of all, your username absolutely infuriates me. while some women are in fact forced to wear the burqa, many wear it out of choice. they respect their religion and all of the sacredness within it. and the feminist movement does not only stretch across the nation, but the entire world. if you took even 10 minutes out of your day to research some of it, you’d see countless people trying to bring awareness to the oppressed women in other countries.
This kind of oppression happens here too, but it happens behind closed doors. And, the problems there might be a broken arm, and the problems here might be a broken finger, but I’m still going to get a splint for my finger and not forgo a splint just because someone else has a broken arm.
Thank you vice for speaking on behalf of women.Women are treated third class citizen in our country.i have seen mothers are deprived of treatment just because they are old and the family think it as of burden
As of 2nd October 2020, protests are going on all over northern parts of India due to the brutal rape of a 19 year old Dalit (mostmarginalized community of india) woman by 4 men of upper status who cut her tongue off and broke her ribs. The victim has succumbed to the injuries. THE PROPAGANDA GOVERNMENT OF THE STATE DENIES RAPE EVEN AFTER EXISTENCE OF VIDEO EVIDENCE. Her family members are being brutalized. HER BODY WAS BURNED WITHOUT PROPER RITUALS AND WITHOUT THE PRESENCE OF HER FAMILY. But it doesn't matter because God will accept her in heaven and no on can stop that. So sad to see women all over the world suffering, remember to never accept injustice anywhere. Sending love to every woman or man who has faced this horrible crime of sexual assualt.
I support western feminism. Women should grow out their armpit hair to show those evil men and protest and show how brave women are. Like joe rogan said if life is too good the mind is going to find something because you need to struggle in life
@Ashty , India has the strictest punishment for crimes against women. It also has death sentence for rape. In islamic countries women don't even have rights. Let alone equal rights
@Ashty , Yes they have god of sex. So what's wrong with that? It's not a god of rape. India was the most safest and wealthiest country in the world before Islamic and Christian invasion. The first brothels and slaughterhouses in India were started by the British.
It's funny that when Vice shows the same struggle in the US (which is ranked only 6 places below Pakistan), people get all riled up and dislike the video into oblivion.
This is incredible but I would have loved to hear from a religious minority. They have different struggles altogether. Still these women deserve to be heard.
