Hey Guys. New to your channel and like your vids! I hope this is ok to ask y’all but we are thinking about selling our house we built 2 yrs ago and just going full time. The problem we are stuck with is how to have a job on the road full time or how to make money? We have a 26ft trailer right now and may end up getting one like you had in the future.’ We really want to do this but we are so nervous about it. Any advise would be greatly appreciate it. SC here!
Thanks for stopping by our channel! And it’s absolutely ok to ask questions here. The most challenging part of RV Life for us is work. Jeremy does remodeling, which isn’t remote and Sarah does Sales & Marketing (which can be remote or semi remote). We sold our house last year and was able to cut our expenses in half. So we can get by with only one of us working at a time. So over the past year Jeremy had remodeling jobs that we circled back to in between our travels (one of the reasons we stayed on the East Coast). When Jeremy wasn’t working on a project we traveled or Sarah worked. We loved that we could figure it out on the go. There’s many job opportunities on the road depending on what you like doing. There’s Workamping (campground jobs for RVers), Amazon Fulfillment Center (seasonal work), sugar beet harvest, Christmas Tree Farms, and other jobs. It’s fun to hear all the ways people make money on the road. It’s a conversation we have often siting around a campfire. Tips: reduce your cost of living as much as possible. Use campground memberships and discount clubs to save on campgrounds (we went from $1000 a month to $200 a month doing this). Stay longer in one area (you save on gas, and a slow pace is more sustainable). And think outside the box when it comes to the work you do. Be open to trying new things. It’s such a big decision. But when it comes to Full time RV families, you’ll find that most of them are doing some kind of remote work.

What club memberships would y’all recommend? Looked at the Thousand Trails membership. We are also Good Sam Elite members at the moment. Thanks for all the info. Much appreciated.
All last year we traveled with the Thousand Trails Camping Pass (Thousand Trails is our favorite because we meet more Full-time Families in the Thousand Trails Campgrounds). We did upgrade our membership after spending the winter in Florida. We also use Passport America and Good Sam’s. We have Harvest Host but haven’t used it yet. There is a bit of a learning curve booking your reservations and staying on top of your bookings, but it becomes second nature after awhile.
