This a Motorcycle helmet review for Harly Davidson street riding of the Simpson Carbon Fiber Outlaw Bandit 3, Simpson Mod Bandit versus the AGV K6
In this video we share why we went from AGV motorcycle helmets to Simpson after all this time.

“Paid promotion from Simpson” is what he should have said . I own one and it’s by far the worst helmet I’ve owned . Wind noise is absolutely crazy loud and after 3 months of wheelies the visor comes down . Bell and Shoei are on top of

Found the mod bandit good for cruising around town but at highway speeds they buffet alot and are really noisy. Did a 4000km (2500mile) trip last month and didn't want to put up with the wind drag so bought a Shoei neotec. bloody expensive helmet but It was so comfortable and quiet it was worth it.

I have both the simpson street bandit and biltwell lane splitter.I was starting to think it was just a helmet thing with the wind drag so I stopped wearinf helmets for a bit.I'm glad I stopped by here to read your comment now I'll be buying my third street helmet lol.

Someone gave me a Simpson ghost bandit, I thinks that's what they call it . Back and white stars/stripes. Non modular. Peripheral vision was horrible. I noticeably had to turn my head a lot more to make lane changes etc.. Wore it once .never again. Shoei neotech way better helmet.

I love how the excuse on a bell is always “Walmart” helmet yet..they only sell bicycle helmets from there which is completely different from motorcycle helmets, I’ve rode bell since my motocross days and the amount of times I’ve racked my head in a bell and walked away with just a few scratches on the helmet with no cracks or anything is pretty high. Yes I’m sponsored by bell but even if i had to buy helmets. I’d still buy a bell over any other helmet on the market.

Bell helmets are not trash. That’s all opinion like an asshole. Everybody has them. I rock Bell on the Harley and when I raced 13 years of motocross, and I’ve had a Fox helmet fly all the top brands Bell has been around forever I don’t think they’re bad helmets, but like I said isn’t an opinion like an asshole

Bell race star dlx is a great helmet. Really flows a lot of air without being loud and the materials used on the interior breaks in very well.

I bought that carbon fiber mod bandit, and improved the quality of my bike life as a daily. Ie…Light weight / pin lock / smoke visor / pilot shade iinside decent air flow & lifting the face up where more aair flow is needed, or at stopped in traffic communication is required…priceless!

@@gamebreak81I think so.. I have a matte ghost bandit & 3 mod bandits, 1matte blk 1 matte gunmetal & 1 Carbon all 4 in size M.. The ghost looks cool but is made with the same shell the L & XL+ helmets are made with so although its very comfortable pretty light & quiet, its HUGEEE & makes me look like a bobble head. The Mod bandits are made with a smaller shell which looks wayyyy more proportional on me at least.. But back to you're question lol the Mods are already light helmets but IMO the if you are holding both helmets at the same time you can definitely tell the difference between the 2! Also I hear everybody complain about how loud the mod Bandits are but in my experience if you leave the chin skirt or whatever it's called on instead of taking it off it drastically dampens the noise!

@@gamebreak81also I got a cheat code for ya... instead of buying the mod Bandit try to find the Simpson darksome. It is the European version of the Mod bandit. So instead of paying $700 something plus I think it came out to like 540 something dollars after taxes and shipped! I can't remember what the helmet safety ratings come as there's Dot and then there's another one for Europe so the only difference between the two helmets is that the dark some is either not rated or it's not the European version of dot rated or something like that I could be wrong but I think that's the only difference

It's cool that you guys are particular and appreciate the small details of things like helmet build quality and bike parts. I remember one time I was talking about how stiff the clutch was on my bike and my uncle told me I was a pussy lmao. Then I saw one of your videos talking about how clutches should be extremely light and it just made me feel good knowing the entire culture isn't totally perpetuated in hell yeah brothers and macho bs. Nowadays I'm really into the fine details of stuff and it's cool that there's likeminded people in the community.

Bell race star flex dlx was solid, used the mx version too for mx riding. The race star flex was light and came with transitions shield. Tonight I saw that ghost bandit were on clearance for $150 directly from them so I scooped another one up.

Stsrted with an HJC modular, then Shoei and now Arai. Love my Arai the best - minimal noise compared to the others. Probably helps that I got a fitting for the Arai, as I went down a size.

I loved my AGV but i agree, once really broken in and used for a while, kinda feels worn out. Have a mod bandit and i like it for a modular. Just recently got an Arai, and it’s my new favorite helmet. Very comfortable, pretty light, and safety wise it’s solid.

I've got a mod bandit and I love it! Hella comfortable, nice cooling vents, look super badass! The only complaint I have about it is that it's LOUD as hell! If you do alot of highway miles... earplugs might be a good choice lol!

I'm from Australia. I've been looking for the Simpson mod to try on. Not many stock them here. I totally agree that bell helmets are a great bang for buck. But damn they are heavy. I currently use a Shoei gt air 2. And after a year or two. I feel they break in the same way you describe the AVG. I'm glad I saw this as AVG was on my list. Cheers for the upload

Happy you found a lid you like. I can't find anything more comfortable than my Arai. Long oval shape is only made well by Arai that I have found in my 40+ years of riding. Had a couple of Shark RSI's many years ago, but they don't seem to make the same shape any longer.

I rode with AGV for years too. I have neck and back issues too and the way they float at speed on the highway was always awesome for me and the visor was great too. But the newest line doesn't do much for me either. I also moved to Simpson this year and grabbed a Speed Bandit. So far I love everything about it except it has a bit too much lift at highway speed feels like it's trying to tear itself off my head at 90mph+. But I don't go that fast for long and it could just be my giant noggin anyway. 🤣

Simpsons are bad when you’re ripping fast. When you’re ripping long sweepers or on the freeway over 80 mph if you turn your head, the shape of the Simpson catches the wind and yanks your head to the side. Period. Best aerodynamic helmet for cruisers and best noise suppression is the Shoei RF1400

I used to have an AGV corsa. Over time the visor latch stopped functioning and I found that out when I turned my head at highway speeds and the visor ripped off haha. Using Shark for racing and Simpson for the road for the past few years. I still have the Simpson that keep my head together going under a truck. That was fun

Arai XD-4 in Diamond White. I ride in Texas (115deg "feels like' on my 2.5 hr ride yesterday). This helmet flows air better than everything else out there. Color matches the Star Silk White on my Ducati DesertX really well.

I had the MOD, was run off the road and thrown into a telephone pole head first. The MOD held. The carbon cracked on the side and the visor brackets were broken. But that helmet saved my melon. Will buy another

I bought a Simpson Mod Bandit a little over a year ago. Got it in. Put it on. Rode to work. On my way home got ran over. Smacked the side of a truck with my head. Busted up everywhere except my noggin. Immediately ordered another, I will be hard pressed to get another brand now.

I went to adventure helmets (Klim, and Aria) for lightweight and breathability, it’s hot here in Texas too. But always ran shoe before, still rotate my x14 and now the 15. Best helmet IMO. I only purchase helmets that I can get transition shields for so that’s a big factor for me. I dislike the need to switch back and forth and I don’t like the flip down sunglasses. Personally I didn’t like the Simpson helmets. They are 15 minutes from where I live in Texas and do my best to support local shops. I have tried several Simpsons and spent 1000’s just to give them to employees. Glad they work well for you and your crew.

I have an old snell rated Shoei RF1000 and the visor is hard to move with one hand. You have to grip the chin and the visor and pry them apart. It truly is a 200mph helmet.

Simpson makes the mod for other countries without the DOT sticker. It’s called “The Darksome” and they’re like $300 online. Same exact helmet, just no sticker.

I switched to a carbon bandit for the weight. I love the comfort, the visor oi lock system is strong. My only complaint is that at highway speeds in hot weather it doesn’t vent well. In wet/cold weather it seems to not clear fog inside for the same reason. Still love the helmet, could use better ventilation.

Love my Simpson helmets. But gotta say I was super disappointed with the Mod Bandit from Simpson. It is such a load helmet when riding without a windshield. My Bell mod is quiet and comfortable so wear that over the Simpson Mod

Bell eliminator carbon weighs less than 3 lbs. Has their awesome pro vision visor which is double pane and never fogs up, its like a permanent pin lock. Awesome awesome helmet

I tried the Simpson Mod and I love the look but my head hated wearing that helmet cause it just wouldn’t fit no matter the size so I ended rolling with a Shoei Neotec 2 on sale which was one of only two helmets that fit my irregular head Lol but I’m a happy camper! 😁

I’m running the Mod bandit and the visor does the same thing. Flops down all the time, need the air in Phoenix with the heat and won’t stay up. Let me know if you have same problem but throwing in trash if I can’t solve the problem! I also enjoy the Simpson look

Arai saved my life last year so I stuck with them, but it’s true the shape is ugly but the shape is made for deflection during a crash so your neck doesn’t get torqued in any which way. Similar to how a football helmet is engineered

Idk why but I’ve always resisted the Simpson just so I’m not rocking what everyone else has. I currently wear a scorpion exo and about to switch to the scorpion exo covert fx (pretty much a Simpson). I’ve just always had the best fit for the buck with scorpion. And it looks pretty dope too.

I got a Simpson ghost bandit and it sucks. The visor keeps falling down I've had to change the padding. Add a quick buckle and they don't have tansiton visors. My next helmet will be a bell like Brian636 wears. Fuck simpson.

I’ve had three K6 helmets, and none of them have had that visor problem. I think the mechanism needs adjusting on yours or something. My first k6 saved my life in an accident 2 years ago.

Always liked the Simpsons. My thoughts aren't really worth a damn though, I had a Sena helmet for awhile before it was stolen, and now I'm regretfully rocking a Ruroc...they got me. I'd like to get a different one, but money is tight for now.

@kruesioriginals 💯 heard nothing but good about Ruroc, but I'm not impressed, with any of it really. Was sold on the built in Bluetooth, but the control set up is awful. It's in the worst spot possible for trying to do anything on the move.

@kruesioriginals and it just feels cheap overall. The little chin part fell out and won't stay in, the pads feel loose, it's just not great. Plus the helmet is huge.

@@Lance1311-Omegon unfortunately Ruroc has a good marketing team made them sound really good(I do think they look good) and paid all them RU-vidrs to say that their stuff was dope and like a lot of people, I feel for it to and for how expensive they are, they suck. Super noisy, cheap feeling etc.

Not a fan of modulars and as far as sloppy visors go , i gota lane splitter that had a visor that didnt stay up so i put rubber o rings where it attaches which made it lock up better ..

What are your thoughts on the Ruroc helmets ? They look decent but seen mixed reviews. I had one of their snowboard helmets for years and it served me well.

Once you wear it and keep opening and closing the visor the plastic teeth that hold the visor open will start deteriorating and the same thing occurs.

So if i ride with a half helmet most days, will wnoise make a difference in a simpson?I have a cheap hjc when im going on a trip, nothing special, LS2 valiant but it was waaay to heavy.

Been rocking the mod bandit and bell srt mod lid for a while and both are comfortable and lightweight but my visor on my bell stays open way more then my Simpson. This is my second Simpson mod bandit and the visor on both of mine just fall closed on me so easily so my bell srt is my long trip go to lid.

Have you adjusted the visor at all? I know you can tighten them and stop that. I’d like to know if that works.

@@kruesioriginals I tightened mine on both simpons, it slightly helped but once I’m doing highway speeds it’s up and down for me. My mod bandits fit so nice so I use them for around town with the bros but all my long distance traveling I use my bell srt as I cross country a lot.
