And even though I didn't like George W Bush, I never felt that way with him, I still thought of him as our president, I just didn't like much of what he did! I try to refer to him as PRESIDENT TRUMP. While I personally and rather crudely feel he is a pig in a silk suit, I have come to realize two points. 1) He and his ilk have degraded the level of national debate to an ugly and chronically ignorant place where discourse that used to be considered the realm of the dregs of our society has cynically been elevated to a normalcy. 2) . He was elected by millions of normal Americans. While this still astonishes reasonable people who saw thru his well crafted Con , what is even more astonishing is how Republican politicians have embraced the worst of his message either as an effort to ride the gravy train or because President Trump has normalized the lowest aspects of their true natures. Because of this we must remember he is not an alien threat to our Republic but a legitimate homegrown and despicable reminder of the dark side of our nations psyche.
