I'm 37 yes old and worked in construction since I was 19 yrs old. I'm shocked that the clothes I've worn to work has become popular now. I have tons of Carhartt work pants over 35 and as for jackets 20. And some are new only 5 pants for work and 6 jackets i use for work. I get them at a discount and would wear them out of work. Now I sell some of the carhartt pants from 2002 better quality.
Idk if people already use this but y’all should check out vans. Their apparel is very good quality being owned by they same corporation that owns timberland, dickies, and the north face they often borrow materials from them when manufacturing.
there are definitely different quality pairs of dickies, like some I got from Walmart are way more stiff, awkward sizing, & loose strings all around the inside. Comparing them to ones I got from a workwear shop the difference is night & day. Another thing I haven’t seen much of are vintage dickies…I’m talking I have a pair that belonged to my grandma from the 80s(ish maybe older) that are BUTTER soft, you wouldn’t believe it but the drape/fade is incredible
That beige vintage carhartt fits oh so good on you! I love how it sits on the waistline. Can I ask what size is it? And how tall you are if you don't mind. Great video!
@@jtwitch7981 wow you are both so cool and manly i want to be yoU!!!! Good quality plus good looks and a reputable brand this was bound to happen. carhartt literally embraces it with WIP so stop gatekeeping.
That black Detroit jacket is not from the 90s the def got you. The ones from the 90s don’t have polyester sleeve lining 😂 I have an actual 1990 Carhartt Detroit it’s got blanket lining throughout and no I don’t have it for fashion I work in it like it’s supposed to be used for
Struggled to find a Detroit jacket that fits as well as yours. Guess I gotta size down? I’m normally a M/L Should I go small for a vintage Carhartt Detroit?
Been really into workwear and have got a few pairs of baggy carpenters double knees and dickies . However not sure what to style on the top any ideas, know of any affordable cool coats / jackets , sweatshirts , caps
Don’t buy carhartt for fashion. It just makes it more expensive for us people who actually work. Carhartt used to be the poor mans work cloths but that all changed after the fashion freaks started buying them up.
I would say most of workwear are essential. Like I’ve had a worker jacket for like 6+ years so before the trend , 874 I’ve heard has always been a staple in US hood.I say it becomes another trend when more alterations are being made e.g. cutting your dickies so it’s cropped isn’t as popular like you see it sold more on depop. So the trend of adding paint splatters, flare tapering and adding a rough look is most likely a trend. But when you get standard pieces without alterations or trying to look too vintage I would say it isn’t a trend.
Faisal Shaikh that’s the way of fashion these days, I’m trying to not get consumed by trends because in reality keeping up to trends is heavy cash loss.
