WHY WOULD SIZE MATTER? Testing the Sigma 60-600mm lens for wildlife photography 

I used to own the Sigma 150-600 Sports lens for my Canon 1DX2. However, I sold it when I got the Sigma 60-600mm F4.5-6.3, and I never regretted the decision. The optical stabilization (OS) is much more reliable, and the autofocus is faster. Nowadays, I use the lens on my Canon R3 mirrorless camera with a lens adapter, and it's perfect for sports and wildlife photography during the day. Compared to the Canon RF 600mm, which is an f/5.6 and quite expensive, the Sigma f/6.3 is a minor 1/3 stop loss of light and much more affordable. Also, there is little difference in optical quality between the two. However, I found that the zoom on the Sigma lens is a bit stiff and not very smooth, and the lens tends to creep in or out when held vertically. To solve this issue, I use a rubber wristband on the turning turret to hold it in place, even when walking around. One thing to note is that if you use a UV filter for front glass protection, make sure to select a good quality one. Cheap UV filters can affect the sharpness of the image, especially at full 600mm zoom. Overall, this lens has become my go-to for wildlife and music events.

I have rented this lens and love it for wildlife shooting. However, I will most often use it with a monopod which helps stabilize the rig and makes it easier to hold when I am waiting for a shot!

I do not like big and heavy (zoom) Lenses, I had the Sony 200-600mm 5.6-6.3 G Lens, but I sold it last year, now I have bought the new Sigma 500mm 5.6 DG DN OS Sports Lens which is small and light weight with excellent optical performance, you can carry this Lens for hours in your hands on a nature hike without problems.

I use this lens with my Sony A6700 and A7IV and I get more keepers with it than I did with the Sony 200-600mm. The vibration reduction is so much better than that in the Sony lens. Great video.

How is the image quality?

Sorry, but this is no review at all, but simply a shameless promotion not only for the lens but also Peak Design and Vanguard. There is no proper information. From seeing this video one must conclude that the word of the creator is not to be trusted as it is simply take the money and say whatever is required. I'll have to find out about this lens from another source as I am actually interested in it.
