An episode to sit with - just the idea of how we experience time, how if we become unknown or disregarded at any point in life, can we still know ourselves, remember ourselves.
One of the things I love most about this series is the symbolism to real world social issues. Without going into detail, Agatha and her Mother (LGBT), Agatha's struggle to not take power (addiction), and now Lilia (the invisibility of an older woman in American society; the forgotten woman) and (how people with Alzheimer's and similar mental illnesses are often dismissed as kooky and then ignored; the forgotten woman). I'm sure people will disagree with my assessment, but that's the beauty of art... it affects many of us in different ways. This episode was the definition of Art; the writing, directing, visuals, music, and Patti Fu**ing LuPone made this the best episode to date (in my opinion).
I think the fact that the episodes are so short and are a week in-between, means that there is time and space to fill in stories and theories. It's very much how I remember experiencing Lost live. The theories we had!
Jen is the hag version of Evil Queen from Snow White. Billy is Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. (I guess folks get them confused because they both cast sleeping spells.)
They don't NEED to be the target demographic. Nobody NEEDS to have asked for it. (Who asked for Lost or for Prison Break or for The Bear?) It is ridiculous to assume that a streaming service would only seve on hroup of people when they asked for it.
I think a lot of your theories are spot on! there’s a bigger one I won’t spoil yet but you’re already on the right track. Re: Agatha’s expression in the beginning when she’s looking at Billy ahead of her - I see hurt there. As he says later, she’s been telling him the truth, and he hasn’t been listening. He basically hasn’t stopped going for her neck since the end of ep 5. He’s been making her the villain but she isn’t, not truly. Also plays into a larger theory I have that I won’t expand on here but I can’t wait to see where it plays out. But whenever she snaps at him or turns on her evil villain mode, it’s always a reaction to what people are assuming she is (aka evil, the worst, etc.), and then she tries to take control of the narrative by being the best villain she can be. But it’s an act, a mask, a defense mechanism. At her core, Agatha is deeply wounded, which is reflected in her tarot card. She needs to heal those wounds to step into her true self and show the coven and especially Billy who she really is, which is where I think we’re headed in the finale. But if we’re following WandaVision structure, which we kind of have been, then episode 8 is the flashback/trauma dump episode for Agatha so grab your tissues for that.
I’m still holding to the theory that William/Billy has created this version of the road in his subconscious. First, he’s the one that initiates every single trial. Second, some of these match up to what we saw in his room, like this episode. There’s some connection here that hasn’t been put together yet.
Hey there! I loved what you said in the beginning of the video about hate watchers. Nothing will get me off your channel quicker than a hater so thank you. I subbed cause of that and you are hilarious. So my thoughts.. Fantastic episode! This one and last weeks were my favorite. Jen is the future. Shes not dying. Thats what the tarot said and then Lila said it before she closed the door. Love that. Def need more bw in the mcu. Its billys coven. Not wandas. And i think only 5 of the 7 are dead. Aren't there two birds? Excited for next weeks dose of two.
I don't understand people who don't like this show. I understand it's campy, but it's got a lot of serious emotion underneath. I saw people SO MAD that Billy was wearing makeup in this one. (As if actors are not always covered in makeup.) They did this really cool structure and set it up from the beginning and you're mad about some lipstick? Anyway, I cried so hard. I liked how her relationship with Jen grew in this episode.
The last two are as follows. Episode 8 normal length 20-25 mins Episode 9 shot as a special presentation 44-55 mins long. Normally special presentations get a cinematic style opening and 60 mins long with credits.
Oh there's more. Unfortunately. Just a gaggle of mediocre men unable to enjoy story telling from a different perspective. Kristian Harloff. MovieFusion. Jaby Koay. Cosmic Wonder. They always use a qualifier. “It’s good for what *it is* “ “it wasn’t made for me, BUT…”
After the first or second episode, I kind of understood why the show might not appeal to everyone. Honestly, I didn’t watch WandaVision and I only started watching this because I’m in love with Joe Locke (Joe, I’m single if your reading this 😂😂), but since then I’ve gone back and watched WandaVision and continue to watch this every week. This show is amazing. It has incredible casting, a great writing, and all of that on the lowest budget Marvel project ever.
