Listen, it was as good as we were going to get. Both are alive. Cruz did her job and escaped ALIVE. Aaliyah doesn't get to marry right now and she's ALIVE. Let's hope they come back for S2
The relationship is so good for 2 reasons: Neither one of them expected to fall in love Each has something to give the other that she needs, Cruz someone to “stand up for her” and Aaliyah someone who wasn’t chosen for her by someone else
@@nnmk02 if they don’t follow up on these two it will be a tragedy. But with the writer’s strike, even if they do, when will it be? Can we make it till then?
Stephanie Nur is SUCH a great actress. 😢 I haven't gushed/fan girled over a couple like this since Avatar Kora and Asami. 😂 But hey, at least we're in the feels together. 😂
Fan fic - Cruz takes an extended break from her military duties and uses it to track down Aaliyah, watching her from a distance at first just to see her and make sure she was doing alright. But then Aaliyah spots her, there's a short walking chase where Cruz hides and Aaliyah loses her. Pacing back and forth Aaliyah confesses that she hated Cruz at first but then realizes that she saved her from a life that she didn't want and crying Aaliyah collapses begging Cruz that if she can hear her that she forgives her and to please find her again. Cruz reveals herself slowly as Aaliyah looks up in disbelief. The two women run to each other, embracing and kissing passionately followed by an enduring embrace where they both cry tears of joy. Camera dolleys back slowly and fades to black.
Sometimes I think that maybe all the lies Cruz told Aaliyah might be worse than killing her father. I don’t think Cruz should ever go back into more work like that. Joe is going to get out too if she wants to save her family.
@@sandrabennett7395 It doesn't help that they were willing to sacrifice Cruz to get the target, Cruz should bolt, apologize to her girlfriend and just live a happy kept life.
All I want now is for them to meet again in season 2. Cruz surely has Aaliyah's number written down somewhere... imagine the silence on the line when that call is made. The explosion of violence in the end still caught me off guard. Cruz was shown to be vulnerable for most of the season and then, when the moment arrives, she literally slaughters two grown men in mere seconds with a kitchen knife. That brutality when she cuts his throat to be absolutely sure, what a contrast!
I’m sure the brutal almost uncontrollable violent killing was partially or even wholly due to the 8 hours of brutal footage Jo made her watch on the plane. The throat cut was like she was paying him back for all the throat cuttings she’d seen on screen.
The explosion of violence was expected tbh. Cruz is a marine, through & through. If she didn't get outta there, she wouldn't have survived, no matter what. She fell in love & she had a mission but she's a soldier. And soldiers know what happens to POWs. Her feelings for Aaliyah aside, Cruz was mostly broken by the incident cause they died dishonorably, she has never had to kill anyone like that.
@@timtonic_1 shes been a solder but she’s never been a duplicitous assassin who has a sudden insight into their own actions and understands that what she’s doing may or will not resolve the fundamental issue but possibly escalate it. She understands that this action alone, that is supposed to be noble, could be the catalyst for more hatred and more bloodshed. All of that on top of having fallen in love with the person you have just utilised to do it. Surely they had Cruz on suicide watch after this? What made the scene at the end with Joe and her husband back in the USA all the more heartbreaking was that the only person Cruz wanted to ‘go home to’ and find some sort of relief was Ayliaah , the person she has just betrayed so violently.
this show like actually broke me....their story is beyond heartbreaking and their love and bond was undeniable. I like to imagine they got back together after everything and lived a happy and free life together 😭
Sending you safe hugs from oceans away and comfort for the way this show broke your heart! Those of us who feel all the feels aren’t made for shows like this!
The show as a whole was so good. The acting from the whole cast was amazing and the story was so compelling. My mom had recommended this show to me and going into it I had no idea what to expect because she didn’t tell me anything. I didn’t expect the sapphic relationship but the chemistry between Cruz and Aaliyah had me hooked from the beginning lol. I literally screamed when they kissed for the first time 😂 I was on the edge of my seat during the last 2 episodes. Obviously there wasn’t going to be a happy ending just based on the premise of the show but still I’m over here being a hopeless romantic lol. Hopefully we get a season 2 and somehow they reconcile and ride off into the sunset or something.
Loved this show. Hoping for a Season 2 and a continuation of their storyline. At the end, i wanted Cruz to call Aaliyah once back in the US. Just show her trying to reach Aaliyah, repeatedly... Then Aaliyah finally answers, then fade to black. They definitely need to continue this...
Aaliyah: Can't have heartbreak if you don't know love. 💔 ,, Cruz kills Aaliyah's 2 biggest enemies,,,,, and no lesbians were killed off, Lioness is a fun watch , TY for the reaction YT post, warm regards, from the Fraser Valley BC 🇨🇦🏳🌈
I tend to agee in a way. I think Aaliyah was into women consciously before Cruz but I am sure that she hadnt been in a relationship with one. She constantly says that she hasn t found love (before Cruz obviously) and I think she is being honest.
That was really the only way the show could have ended. I’m happy none of them died. But even if there is a season 2, I don’t see how Aaliyah can get over Cruz killing her dad. That’s too big. Good show nonetheless and I won’t mind a season 2.
Hahahaha! You had me cracking up so much! I found the show close to the final episode release too. Your description of my disassociated state is completely spot on.
The idea I liked about the series is that it’s all about killing a terrorist yet Jo who works for the CIA is as ruthless as any Imam or zealot trying to coerce a person into being a suicide bomber. She knows Cruz has been severely damaged by her childhood and takes her on so she can effectively create her own suicide bomber. (The fact that Cruz makes it out alive was not expected by any of the team hierarchy). The psychological manipulation Jo puts Cruz through is next level. Watching that 8 hours of terrorist footage before getting to the wedding would have been trauma inducing especially since she knows she’s just been to the heights of love and ecstasy only hours before. The emotional roller coaster would F with your brain. (That’s not even including the beating from the torture squad and then the impact of being pumped full of GBH and then the the powerful upper next morning) . Jo and the CIA are as ruthless as the man Cruz is supposed to kill.
Was honestly surprised by this show as I wasn't expecting much going into as just another thing written by a man but Their story was much better than other sapphic characters in the past written by men.. it is like he took the time to understand them and it paid off even though the story could've been a little more fleshed out since I was looking forward to high octane action series...
Just finished watching the show and I was having soo much anxiety😭😭😭 like I had it paused for like 10 mins when Cruz’s in the kitchen with the dad and at this point I’m doing awhile commentary of the show to my bestiee🤣🤣🤣 I’ll watch the riverdale vid but later it’s 1am where I’m at
I think that is what makes it a good series. Being said given the genre it was never going to end well. (not that i would not have liked to get my expectation subverted...)
It’s been a tough week. I feel like I’ve embodied both Aaliyah x Cruz and going through the feels all week 😂 I wouldn’t say it was Aaliyah’s first time with a girl though! What y’all think?
definitely not Aaliyah's first time. her friends said something about "project" and aaliyah caught another stray dog. aaliyah knows a place (hotel) where she takes women at
i almost regret every starting this show my heart can’t keep handling this shit they deserved so much better… i’m fucking devestated cruz is better than me bc i would have absolutely betrayed my country for aaliyah 😭
Lol same here,I was hoping that Cruz would suggest running away to Aaliyah and ditch the mission altogether so they could live happily ever after together 💔
I understand. 100% of my predictions for this show finale were wrong (thank God because all my predictions were MUCH WORSE!) At least they both survived. I think they will meet again. After all Aaliyah has to avenge her father's death. I've been writing fanfic in my head for S2 all morning, but you wouldn't like it because it has Aaliyah tracking down and killing Cruz. (After a hot sex scene, of course. I'm not an animal!) Watch Stupid Wife. You'll feel better. I promise.
We all did but they can't have Cruz make love to Aaliyah then get up for water right after and slaughter her father. I think it would take away Cruz's stance. It make sense and shows you Cruz is seriously deeply In Love with Aaliyah for not having sex with her knowing shortly after she was going to kill her Father.
Their relationship caught me so off guard that I couldn't stop thinking abt it for days I can't even put into words! Thanks for getting it out for me;)
What could we potentially expect, anticipate, speculate about S2? Given the name of the show, it’s highly probable that the lioness program would continue. Perhaps a shift in guards where Joe assumes Kaitlyn’s role and Cruz takes over as program lead to change things for the ‘better’ with her traumatic field experience? Perhaps with the vision of nurture as opposed to neutralise. As for the character of Aaliyah, it’s hard to imagine forgiveness in the horizon given the betrayal and the devastation of loss. Perhaps she will take over both her father and dead fiancé’s reign, manipulating the geopolitics of oil, driven by the hunger of revenge. Maybe a rival espionage program ‘asad (lion in Arabic?) designed to infiltrate the president of USA (Kaitlyn). This sets the stage for reconciliation for when the paths of both characters cross again, though we might have to wait till S3 for stories to mature and build up. This is obviously the rant of the heart break and an emotional wreck sustained from the finale! Someone please link some fanfic where it ends better!!
Even though Aaliyah's dad is horrible, from her arabic point of view she cannot forgive Cruz right away. Also maybe there might be a revenge. I think, in season 2 she is gonna look for revenge and go after Cruz. But hope to see that love wins in the end:)❤
Cruz should get points with Aaliyah for getting rid of that horrible controlling fiance'. If he slapped Cruz you know he was going to be doing the same to Aaliyah
Lmao lmao i feel just like u. My mom actually told me about it. I was surprised she did. So I watched it. Sheesh. That was crazy. The way they look at each other. Aaliyah was ready to risk it all every time she saw Cruz. They were in love love. She was so proud to introduce her to her mom. Poor Cruz tho. She was in such a terrible situation. She was in love and lying ans a killer
Alex, I saw the title and just started laughing until my eyes welled with tears. I hadn't even clicked this yet. I've just been around here long enough to know.
Crazy to hear Alex go through the same effects lol my brain wasn't on point after feeling the pain that Cruz and Aaliyah have gotten into. It's insane you can feel the Guilt, pain and confusion that Cruz is carrying. Aaliyah is TRAPPED and has been emotiinally alone her whole life. Cruz makes her feel heard when she never felt heard her entire life. You feel the effects of them being DEPREIVED of Love their entire lives😢. I think they could meet up. Aaliyah did Ask QUESTIONS. "Are you my friend"? And she said her Father wouldn't be at the wedding but he was already at the mansion for wedding the night before which Cruz ran into him and killed him. Did Aaliyah lie? Or did she suspect who Cruz really was and was protecting her father. BOOM!!
Brilliant TV show. I have loved this show from the start. Wish it could of been longer than 8 episodes. Loved the girls together, but it was never going to last. The daughter ķnows the life she is born into and she was just getting in what she could before being married off. And as for Cruz, I think Jo got it right, Cruz was feeling being wanted and loved and it could of been anyone. Being that it was a women made it feel safer given her past history. If there is a seaon 2... Cruz is fucked. She won't be able to leave the Marines now the enemy know who she is, she has a target on her back. As for the daughter I see her as being the next terrorist. Watch your back Cruz. She will be after you. If there is a season 2, but with a brand new story... Ill still be keen. Zoe Saldana... Jill Wagner all good for me.
S1 leaves us pondering Cruz's speculation that she/they just created another Generation of Terrorists... The "safe bet" is S2 will go down that path. But... What if Cruz just elevated/freed Aaliyah to take over the deceased father's empire? The US has to question if she (Aaliyah) could be "turned" or needs to be eliminated because they made her into an even bigger monster then her father. S2 might involve Aaliyah tracking down Cruz then the US, and/or the Lioness program have to ask if Cruz or Aaliyah have turned sides and the plot thickens...
I doubt Aaliyah will turn into a terrorist, unless she pretends to because her people will kill her or place her in jail. She doesn't care for all the rules her country and culture place on women. Hopefully she can find a path to America.
I certainly won’t be watching if you are right. I think Aaliyah is not the little woman complying with the rules. She has something of her own going on to get free. Remember Kaitlyn told her husband there was a mole in the oil company. Aaliyah will NOT be a terrorist! I can even see the bald headed security guard helping her escape. And their feelings are real! That’s why it works.
OMG you poor thing, I also just watched this show and your feelings of devastation are completely justified!!! 💔💔💔 P.S. already watched you Riverdale video and is was exactly what I needed 😀😀😀
Pienso lo mismo. Luego me puse contento porque creo que va a haber una segunda temporada debido al éxito que está teniendo. Pero es imposible que vuelvan a estar juntas, después de que Cruz haya matado al padre. Así que 💔
It was an act of kindness, Cruz saving Aaliyah from that son of bitch Eshan, and the man forcing her to marry him, even if it was her father, there was no other way. Makes me feel sad for young girls even today who are forced to marry men 3-4 times their age by their fathers.
I literally finished ep 8 and started a fan fiction the same night, 8000 words and counting i am obsessed with these two people and their story living on! Even if the journey onscreen is over.
I watched this show 7 months ago and am still here! They were amazing, these actresses and the story line...so good...until, of course, it ended unhappily like all other wlw story lines do. Ugh, haunting love stories are the worst!
😭😭😭This show?!! The whole of the last episode I didn't even want them to touch because I was scared they'd just kill both of them but they didn't kill either so to me that is the best outcome. Aliyah could choose to grieve and live free in America but we aren't sure if there are family members that are meant to take responsibility for her and marry her off anyway. Also, Cruz has serious issues she has to deal with, a lot of them.
Ok I'm a little confused so I'll rematch the last episodes....but it SEEMES like the terrorist dad AND the horrible fiance who blew her cover were the two who died.... so now she's not controlled by her father or fiance. I'm thinking her mom won't be so great....but i thought the ending was really hopeful 😂😂😂
Honestly I think that the show might surprise us and also sociopolitically it makes sense for the US to try to retake control of the oil trade again. So if Cruz becomes Aaliyah’s handler as Aaliyah becomes what her dad used to be. Also it would also be really good if Aaliyah does this in her own to get revenge and when it’s time to kill Cruz either her or her number two stop her because they realize this is the love of her life.
