Exactly. I was ALWAYS an X-Men fan. I didn’t really get interested in Avengers until the movies came out.

Dude I happened upon this show by accident, don’t follow on new marvel shit or any new stuff tbh because new stuff just isn’t my thing but I looked up the X-men theme on Spotify one day and I saw something about ‘97 I was like “what??? There’s a new show?” Looked it up and it was airing in a couple days🤣 I was like no fucking way

AKOM used to produce episodes for BTAS and were dropped due to numerous quality assurance issues. X-Men in the 90's could have been so much better if TOEI instead of AKOM were in charge of animation.

Well, aesthetics means nothing without proper execution and the old series was really poor overall. For every ten scenes, one was well done. The story-writing is what saved the show.

​@@navbuoyit was mostly the still frames animation. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is the only anime that's done that without looking janky, and except some artistically done jankiness animations like that of Spider verse

​@@Gustavo81988I mean, regardless of your views on human rights, one could make a case that the LITERAL SHAPESHIFTER with non uniform biology and shifting anatomy would fit comfortably into the they / them category. Unless you believe Morphs pronouns should shift to conform to whoever they become. I suppose you could argue that Morph should carry one set of pronouns because of who they identify as, psychologically. In the end, there is no transphobic way to gender Morph that makes any sense.

X-Men is, and always has been, a story about minority social outcasts attempting to survive in a world that mistrusts, fears, and dehumanizes them. The day to day struggle of attempting to convince the social majority that you have the right to exist, fighting for your very personhood. X-Men didn't become woke. X-Men has been woke from the start. And anyone who says that like it is a bad thing would probably support the Friends of Humanity, and be against mutant rights.

I haven't seen a X-Men movie in YEARS and I've never seen the original. But I'm still able to love X-Men '97 and understand what's happening

I just watched some fundamentals arcs because I didn't like the 90s animation due to it being clunky and looking pretty weird on modern screens, so I just watched arcs only like days of future past, dark pheonix saga, and some notable episodes

X-Men '97 has some of the best speeches I've seen in awhile

This show just builds off of what came before beautifully. No need to gate keep entertainment
