Why You’re Staying in the Wrong Disney World Hotel 

Staying on Disney is part of the trip experience. Transportation and extra hours are just an added plus. I can stay at Hilton or Marriott anytime anywhere.

It’s worth it to stay on property. If it’s too much for you, it’s too much for you. You’ll still have a great trip not staying on property. But it’s worth every penny to be stuck in “the bubble” for ten days or so and really soak up the world away from the real world Disney has built down there! Coronado Springs is an incredible resort and I feel like I’m in a whole other world when I stay there ! Taking my girlfriend on a surprise trip to stay at Contemporary in just a few months. She’s always wanted to stay there and it’s a bucket list dream so I can’t wait to finally be able and fortunate enough to take her there!

Sorry, I did five trips from 2012 to 2022, two DLR, three WDW, all at Disney hotels. Last month I took the family off-site to a true 1-bedroom suite at a hotel that had an included full breakfast buffet and water slides for half the price of a family suite at AoA that doesn't include breakfast. The "wrong" Disney resort just might be ANY Disney resort at current prices. As always, thanks for the insights, DFB crew.

We can only afford to stay value so that makes the choice pretty easy.

I booked Old Key West for $201 a night. That would make it the right hotel for us.

I’ve been watching Provost Park Pass as Chris stays at 20 Disney resorts in 20 days. He provides so much great information. It’s not all about price, it’s about transportation, location and your vacation style. I think my dream resort would be Beach Club, but realistically I would be happy in Pop Century.

We have stayed at wilderness lodge for most of our trips. It fits our needs. We recently tried the suites at Art of animation. We loved that hotel too. I also love the hotels that have only internal rooms.

I regularly stayed at Fort Wilderness when I had a Recreational Vehicle. Alas, I sold my RV a couple of years ago so I haven’t been back. I miss the Fort😢.

I stayed at Caribbean during the refurb. It was a nightmare. They did give $75 gift card for every day u were there but not sure it was worth it

Thank you for this video, I truly enjoyed it! My family and I stayed at an AirBnB (though we booked directly through the owner), and we enjoyed that our house was so much cheaper for more space! However, being outside of the Disney bubble also presents a certain set of challenges! And I also enjoyed the part about booking a deluxe/ villa room for the extended evening hours perk. My family’s next trip is booked for next summer- We wanted to stay in property, but having some space (and preferably a full kitchen) is a must for my son (who has special needs/ autism). He absolutely HAS to have a private space away from the parks to sit and eat his chicky nuggies in silence 😊 So I was debating a family suite at All Stars Music (not a full kitchen), Cabins at Fort Wilderness (has a full kitchen but is more expensive than All Stars with no more benefits) vs a villa at OKW (plenty of space and kitchen with extra perks, but so expensive)! So when it was announced that the new DVC cabins at Fort Wilderness will be eligible for the extended evening hours starting later this year, I was sold! 😅 I went ahead and booked before the prices go up!

I used to work front desk at Yacht & Beach back in 2005 and despite the pool at resort is definitely for grown ups.

I like how everyone comments with absolute statements; as if we all have the same preferences and cash. 😂

Pop Century was always our go to hotel, my wife always called it our home away from home. Now that my wife passed away in 2022 and my granddaughter ( 18 years old ) will be off to college in the fall there will be no going back to Disney World for me.

We finally booked our trip for this summer is past weekend, after weeks of which hotel, and what day do we want to arrive, and how many days of tickets do we need, etc. And then I see the title on this video, and I'm just thinking "Great, now AJ is going to make me wish I booked somewhere else.". Turns out everything's good, and, booking Pop so we could be on the liner route and go to other hotels for meals was one of the tips!

Does Universal have an after hours option?

When they are running a discount, the per night price changes to the discounted price. It is NOT the advertised percentage off that per night number. And if you're staying at All Star Movies, you could always hoof it next door to Music for food. But then everyone else is doing that too.

The resort discounts might be because they "sell out". If a number of rooms are available, as they sell, the highest discount will sell out and a lower discount is availanke.

I would like to try staying at all the Disney resorts but can only afford the value resorts

Free waterpark tickets are great, but I cannot get a flight in from the UK to get to the park on arrival day!

If staying at a non-Disney hotel, don't forget the additional costs. Disney dies not charge a resort fee, there is no charge for parking or transportation.

I have stayed at: All Star Sport All Star Music All Star Movies Pop Century Port Orleans French Quarter Caribbean Beach Swan Boardwalk And will be staying Art of Animation this year. So far the Boardwalk was my favorite. I would like to stay at Beach Club and Polynesian in the future.

I wish these Disney resorts would get rid of their locked communal body wash,shampoo and conditioner. I found black and brown slimy mold under the cap recently at Pop Century when my daughter accidentally broke the pump. Hard to get out a decent amount as well.

In the UK trying to book AoA is RIDICULOUSLY expensive. Even the “basic” little mermaid rooms cost more than both AKL and WL. No idea why.

This video does not make sense. For 2 hr deluxe resort extending evening the parks are practically empty and include EVERYONE on the room reservation. You can easily get every ride done. We have at both Epcot and MK. However, the 3 hr After Hrs Parties you have to purchase an expensive ticket for EACH person. And they are so crowded - which DFB mentions all the time - that you can not get every single ride done. The After Hr Parties cost more because buying a ticket for every single person.

Just once, I wish they would include ft wilderness. Given what they DONT provide there, the rate should be lower.
