Thank you for this video. My matrilineal 2nd great-grandmother had a last name that had several variants that were often used. She could be listed as Robinson, Robertson, Roberson, Robeson, or Robison. ARGH! She's my brick wall and was allegedly adopted, so I can't even be sure that Robinson (or its variants) is her true, biological maiden name.

@@LisaLissonAYMC She sure is! Thankfully, I do have a digital copy of her death certificate, so I know when she died and where. It only lists her married name and no parents. Oh well, information will be found when it is meant to be found. :) Have a blessed day.

I rarely care when an ancestor died. I've been doing research since 1970 at the National Archive.

I use US record examples since that is what I specialize in, but a lot of the research strategy applies to genealogy research in general, regardless of locaiton.
