This should be on TV each night instead of coronation Street. Laughter banter characters and a wee bit educational 😂 Amy really getting into the groove now, gives banter and takes it, go on girl. Love it 👍❤
You have to plan for the wet days but laying facing brick should never be in the plan but if you know there's rain coming cover up your freshly laid brickwork as all your doing is saturating the brickwork and causing efflorescence👍
33-9 best trowel ever for me (single skin facework) just give it time ).... Sadly this cost you time due to greed working in the rain.... Propping walls up and compo will dry a different shade. Come Charlie, I'm a follower cut this is bad practice (NHBC)
Tried this as a career did brick and block course got job -boss had me mixing mud stacking/cutting bricks for 6 months keeping up with 5 brickys on big site - just wanted to get on the wall start laying -that fella gets to start on wall-would have like this fella as boss
Great video. Ordered some brick samples (dark red/purple with facing small chippings) to match for a repair job. Arrived as concrete! Assume made like a block paving brick. I'm thinking no good cos they will fade. No holes or frogs. Is it good idea to mix up clays and concretes? Video on concretes would be interesting, so perhaps do one house before doing a runner and find out what you can. Are they the future? Dumb idea I'm thinking but I'm not sure of all reasons. Hmmm might have to go with em for the repair job, if nothing else avail.
Don lay bricks in the the rain or wet bricks all you need up with is a mess and walls with effervescence just call it and go home ..been laying bricks since 1983 take my advice and don’t do it
Shocked me how Charlie said first bit of jobs they do it’s far from it everyone I know is made to be a labourer for months on end and barley get to touch the trowel as the gangs they are with lose money for when they ain’t laying so they don’t give the apprenticeships hardly any time
100% right when training someone new get to lay out muck on the bed and perp the brick or block as well for to the get hang of it 100% best way to teach and learn its the rightv way
Fk me Charlie..good job you caught that before you fked off other wise it would have been a take down job..still might be😂😂👍 Good effort to you and the team though...you'll have to show us how that wall looks tomorrow 😂 and what the supervisor says😂😂 Keep it up guys!
Got to have a little fun. Even on the bad days. You deal with problems in a positive way. Good crew bibs because of your management style. Will pay off big!!! Nice job
Is number 32 finished, no, why not it says here it should be. It's been below zero for a week with no sign of +5 degrees and it's holding off the Plasterers. He lifts his spreadsheet and scans it from side to side. I can see no mention of the weather on here he says. Tell them if it's not done by the end of the week I'll issue a non conformance, three of those and they're sacked. Ok boss. The resident in number 42 says there are a lot of men making a huge mess all over the place, and she's told them to stop but they are ignoring her, sort it out will you. At number 42, eight men where doing their best to keep what render two had put on the wall, on the wall, in a really heavy rain downpour. By the time it had been on the floor twice is was more like soup and everyone was covered in it. Earlier they had been told to get it on quick if they wanted to keep their jobs. We live on an island and we have to work with the weather or everything sags or ends up on the floor. Eight weeks of continuous rain one year and funds where getting low. Pesky westerlies.
@@NorthEastMick most scaffolding firms I use will go upto the reveals just ask them nicely and they do it be nice to scaffolders and there nice back and will help you to do your job
@@NorthEastMick soon make its way up there, we're doing it here in the Midlands, it's a pain in the arse cos of cutting the boards to fit different sized opening
@@denarmstrong7868 I would imagine it’s a right pain in the arse mate, the price of scaffold boards at the minute, my gaffa would have a heart attack if he thought we had to cut boards down lol
@@matteyeckersall3132 That’s true enough mate, I always try and be sound with the client or the site gaffa, if you try and be awkward with them they can give you it straight back and usually it’s more of a chew on then if you had just done what they asked in the first place.
