Why you have to enroll in Medicare when you're 65 Part 1 

She's wrong... You don't have to sign up for anything! But if you plan on signing up Part B and Part D, after age 65... you must prove that you've had credible Healthcare coverage that entire time after age 65 from your employer or your spouse's employer. But yes.... it doesn't make any sense to NOT sign up for Part A at age 65. The premium has been already paid for by you (all your working life!). You may need it! (I needed it when I was 64 when I was in the hospital for heart surgery.... but I didn't have it then)
