I learned about his behavior model in my consumer behavior class and at first thought „That‘s it?“, but once you dive into the details, it‘s really kind of brilliant.
This and Atomic Habits by James Clear have been life changing for me. Reminding myself that tiny habits still count towards to the bigger picture has really helped me avoid feeling overwhelmed when I set out to try something new.
@@JordanHarbingerShow Yes! I've been a huge fan of yours since 2016. Your show has accompanied me through multiple cross country moves, break-ups and career changes. The episode with James back in 2018 was the one that started me down a rabbit hole of improving some of my own habits. Thank you for replying! I wasn't expecting it and it was a welcomed surprise.
It's worth noting that James Clear is not a psychologist or researcher. He is a marketer. He used BJ Fogg's work to write Atomic Habits. BJ Fogg is the absolute king of behaviour research and hacking!
Awesome! When my espresso is brewing, I practice standing on one foot. This tiny habit immediately expanded to when I was waiting for other things. Being 70, balance is so important. Love this maui surgery.
Jordan that was excellent! Another example of the stellar content provided by your channel. Sure I'm subscribed to other channels but yours is the one I make sure to hear, even if I don't have time for anything else, thanks!
@@JordanHarbingerShow I put the podcast on my Droid intending to start at the beginning to catch up, but I haven't been listening to it, thanks to your reminder I will get back on it!
@@JordanHarbingerShow This was the first video I watched your show. So I haven't listened to your podcast but I got to tell you, I've heard of BJ Fogg before and even watched his Ted talk years ago. But this conversation really clarified what he meant in ways I didn't understand before. 1. the fact the Habits are not created by repetition. 2. Each celebration needs to be individualized. (my celebration is simply putting my arms up and jumping) 3. You can hack the feeling part of your brain (who is driving the car) to change your behavior. The way you helped expand his ideas. Asking the right questions at the right times. It literally changed my life. I built more positive habits in the last day than I have in 3 years.
@@JordanHarbingerShow I listen to the podcast in my car and when I'm out. I listen to the words intently. When I'm home relaxing is when I watch the show. I tend to pay more attention to body language and micro expressions. I have to watch multiple times whereas listening only needs one go. I hope you guys are all staying safe and thanks again for all the great content you put out.
