@WithCarePlz
@WithCarePlz 10 месяцев назад
@@AustinPierce7526 we all like what we like. No argument there. But for me I could never go back to a tele again bcuz my CS strat with 1/2 blender greasebucket II (sort of similar to the AP2 strats 7 way gilmour wiring but with the addition of treble bleed and the tone 2 being a blender) does the tele thing better than a tele but it’s a strat. For me a strat with that kind of setup always walks over a tele bcuz the strat is much more of a form fitting comfortable shape, and when a trem strat does the tele thing wiring wise it’ll always sound better to me due to the springs being part of the tone. That strat springy snap and the lightweight ergonomics are just too much for a tele to compete with. That being said Teles are the OG electric- and if that plays a part of why somebody wants one- I totally get that. Just for me objectively I can’t play teles after playing AP2 strats and my custom shop pomo strat. But i’d take an AP2 tele over a player strat. But the AP2 strat just does more and does it more comfortably. The AP2 teles are still nice quality american made instruments tho. Congrats. Give a CS Pomo or AP2 strat a try tho if u can

The best Strat I ever owned was a Hamer Chaparral Custom. Currently, I have a Fender Stratocaster and a Gibson Les Paul. If I had to choose between the two, I would go with the Les Paul. The Les Paul was perfect from the day I grabbed it off the rack. The Stratocaster has always had tuning issues. The best Fender I ever played was a 1967 Telecaster.

@MarkTurner-vs7uc At first, my Les Paul had tuning issues. Then I did the over the top tailpiece wrap, and I started using the luthier knot. Haven't had any problems since. The Stratocaster has tuning issues because of the Fender tremolo bridge and a defective roller nut.

The Reverb list is derived from sales on their site which can include second hand as well as new guitars. The top guitar can be the most popular or the most flipped ie the one which generates the most buyer's remorse.

I'm just now perusing a list of top selling guitars from Reverb for 2022, and they have the Silver Sky in first place, but second place is the Squier Classic Vibe Baritone Custom Telecaster, and third place is the Fender Player Plus Meteora HH. I might believe that the Silver Sky was a popular guitar, but I think that the other two guitars on the top of the list imply that it is extremely unlikely that the Reverb list can be considered as representative of the industry as a whole. Do we really believe that the Meteora is Fender's best selling model?

Slightly off topic, but this video made me think it's funny how people expect the guitar to evolve to something else/better/different... when we don't have the same expectations on pianos, violins etc... It's still a relatively new instrument compared to others. So it's not really a surprise to find it saying the same for only 50 years... and having certain versions of the guitar really being the standout ones, when the main basis for the instrument stays the same. When something works, just play it :)

Trust me, it just never gets better! At 65, I basically have one of every common style guitar (no pointy ones! 😂) including a Strat, a Tele, an LP, a 335, a PRS…regular, 12-string and parlor acoustics…and a mandolin! I’m okay on most but a master of none. But each has their own personality and I love them all! Variety is the spice of life! But I don’t gamble, drink excessively or run with scissors so my guitar habit probably won’t kill me! 🤡

@@TheSamMabe That’s a tough one! 😂 I love them all but if you’re forcing me to make a choice then I can narrow it down to three…for when I just have a few minutes to pick then it would be my PRS parlor guitar…for deep acoustic, it’s my 25 year-old Taylor 414 that is sweet as honey…for rocking it would be my Fender Player Series Strat with a Seymour Duncan JB Jr. in the bridge position for a humbucker sound. That said, I have an Ibanez Artcore 335-style semi-hollow that I had set-up perfectly and a bone nut added that is a killer and all my friends want to play! All my guitars are different but having played since I was ten, the mix has always kept me interested no matter what style I’m feeling that day! 🤪. Lastly, except for my 12-string, all of my guitars were purchased used so I’m kind of the shelter for unloved or neglected axes! 🤡

It’s a fantastic example of a Strat. Really well made, which is why I know that it’s Strats as a category I don’t like - rather than the specific one I had (I’ve owned three others in the past, years ago). They feel great to hold, but I don’t like the pickups/sound and don’t particularly like how they look. In the Fender world, I much prefer a Tele, Jag, or JM. But if someone wanted a Strat I’d recommend the AmPro-II.

A guitar is not a piece of the narrative; it's a tool. Whether Strats are iconic or not, the only thing that matters about a guitar is how they sound, whether that sound appeals to you, and if you can bond with it as an instrument. I have a 2012 HSS strat, I had written to the ceo of Fender at the time about the design of the bridge and string angle breaking across the bridge plate and how I had modified my old Kramer to eliminate that angle by beveling the holes etc, and a couple years later..I got my 2012 Deluxe American strat..Locking tuners, Lsr roller nut, the bridge plate holes were beveled..just like I suggested! Of course I can't claim that idea as mine as maybe some other engineer also developed it. I just know I suggested it. I don't like the fancy electronics on it. I would have rather just had straight ahead 5 way switch with a coil tap to split the bridge. As far as the neck..It's a bit wide for me, as in string spacing. Currently, that is a absolutely gorgeous Squier Contemporary Jaguar in Lake Placid Blue which is super versatile and well made for the price point. ... And then i pick up the stupidly cheap Squier Bullet Strat, which i still have cause it wasn't worth the hassle to sell it, cause it was 100 bucks new. And it just clicks. It does the thing. Perhaps i should just sell the Jaguar and finally get a set of decent pickups and a professional setup for that Strat.

I don't care. I need the guitar that i like the best, not the guitar with the most famous name..Some parts are even higher quality produced under licence and you get many options to choose from, while with Fender you could only get it from the Custom Shop if at all and then ofcourse at a hefty pricetag. iv had so many strats, and ive sold every last one of them. they are some of the most boring guitars, today i seek out exotic designs and materials, like abasi concepts, strandbergs, hell the yamaha revstar. ibanez is still my go too bang for your buck brand.

The best guitar I've ever had was a '73 strat that I sold in the 80's for $350. Dumb, dumb, dumb!

I'll sell my Strat faster than any of my other fenders bc I'll buy another Strat faster than any guitar sidetone looking for a fiesta red American fender used

For my first "real" guitar I got a Jackson JS22 DKA because it was aforable to me and had all the things I needed to learn like a netraul tone, duel humbuckers, only 2 knobs and a 3 way switch and honestly most importantly comfey in a way Strats just aren't to me(Maybe because I play a right handed guitar left handed.)... Which my personal music hero is Frank Klepacki like he is everything I want to be as a musician... and his custom guitar from a brand that died 20 years ago has 1 knob and like 5 humbuckers so I wanted to find a guitar like that and kinda did and I couldn't be happier.EDit make that just 2 humbuckers I just checked but it was 1 knob, 1 switch and a wicked body from a brand I still can't ID. But My Jackson having 2 humbuckers and 2 knobs is really close and I love it a great starting guitar!

When it comes to guitars, I love my acoustics the most. I also have 2 electrics. The one that will always stay with me and that I would like to be burried with is my Fender Stratocaster, made in Mexico. I can play anything, other than metal (it can be done, but single coils are prone to hum) on it. For high gain stuff and dark jazzy tones, I prefer my Vintage V100 AFD paradise, a Les Paul style guitar.

That's where the hsh Strat really shines. Love my MIM Strat for that alone, but with a coil split it can be the best of both worlds

Nope, my RG570/770's are always keepers, I keep going back to them so they win.

Strat is comfortable, easy to play and repair. They have a wide range of tones and are relatively affordable. What more does one need?

If telecasters had a whammy I’d say they are most versatile. But since they don’t… idk

It's a lot harder to get a Strat to sound great compared to other guitars but when you do it's totally worth it.

i always sell my strats first. too tight a scale length for the wild stuff i like to do. i want a attack that propels into the note instead of a peaky spike that dies.

Quite a coincidence; I am currently thinking to swap Strat to Rickenbacker 360 or Telecaster. Nice guitar, but rarely playing it. Mostly playing Jaguars, then Telecaster 1972 thinline and Les Paul Standard.
