Best to avoid this place at all cost. Unless you want to end up like the previous backpackers. Stuffed into a concrete pipe or raped and murdered on the beach. With no justice for the victims. Please beware it is not safe.

100% I visited, and it's not safe. But don't take my word for it - look up the dozens of murders online - and then realise that that is the tip of the iceberg. A lot goes unreported

Paradise Island looks beautiful, but be sure to be extra respectful to the locals on this Island. Offend the wrong person here and they will butcher you.

@@konstantinkaiser2383 There are many many stories. The most famous is the murder of Hannah Wetheridge and David Miller. The elite families there are untouchable and can kill whoever they want. Many tourists have been killed on Koh Tao.

@@konstantinkaiser2383 It’s a very dangerous island to visit. You can’t even ask anyone on the island about questionable deaths that have occurred there. People die there very often and it’s mysterious deaths. Since many travel there, the local government always blames the tourists, they won’t provide your home country with information and just claim you committed suicide. There’s podcasts with multiple stories about a lot of tourists found dead.

I stayed on this Island for 6 months in 1994, No electricity, no roads, No pubs , no Clubs, no noise , no visiting cruise ships. It took 2 days to get there 1 day to kohpanyang and then 1 day by local fisherman to Koh Tao, Beaches were empty and only about 6 places to stay on whole island. It really was like a virgin Island back then

We spent 31 amazing days on Koh Tao in Sep 2001. A private bungalow in Chalok Baan Kao, motorbike, and all meals for 2 cost us $27 a day. Outstanding diving, too.

Why you shouldn't visit Koh Tao - its all corrupt. But well, make your own experiences and cross your fingers thats you'll never get in any weird situations. Went there for many years, will avoid it at any costs..

Thanks for the video. Looks lovely but the reputation of the island is not a good one. I do think some of those tourists deaths were natural causes. People need to watch how much they drink and should be careful what they buy from pharmacies. How did that guy stay for 9 months? is there cheap accommodation?
