Tried to find out how to use the strap. located a video which showed the strap going around both Drings which I believe is wrong., It holds but cannot be tightened. Instead, put the strap through the lower Dring with the teeth from underneath then over top. Tighten and it will grip under load then put the loose tail into the untoothed Dring by passing the strap over top..
Here's a crazy idea. Why don't you show how to run the cables out from underneath the lid by actually PUTTING A BATTERY IN THE BOX!!!!! Not once did I see that. I've been looking all over RU-vid on this subject and not one video shows how the cables come out from under the lid!!!! I don't need a chemistry lesson acids. Geez.
If you are looking at the long side of the batery box, one side of the lid has two channels (on either side of the strap) that are molded to allow battery cable access. Hope that helps! Thanks.
I freely admit that I came here to find out how I should drill a hole in my battery box to get the cable out. Now I have learned that there is no need for that. Do I feel stupid? I guess I do, but sometimes you can't see what should be obvious.
Gosh, now I understand where to put the two darn straps. I was looking around the box to find a place to screw them in without potentially puncturing the battery (what a silly design! I thought). Thanks a lot!!!
These boxes are designed for marine, RV, and ATV applications, where the battery could be potentially exposed to the elements. These style of boxes likely will not fit inside a vehicles hood. If you are looking for something to protect your battery, a Battery Warmer might be a better option, check them out here greggdistributors.ca/search?q=battery%20warmers&resp_group=Default,Variations,ItemProperties.
Fun video, editor looks like he spent a fair bit of time, however, turn the music waaaay down. Should be at least 50% lower than it is in the video. We can’t hear him speak.
Scott a great video. When you got to the part about over charging in the box and explosions it was a bit hard to hear what you said owing to the music. So were you saying there is a small vent in top of box for gases to escape, which you were pointing too or just to ensure you dont overcharge?
