thanks mate.yes bad news indeed. it was expected to go on tidal water soon as well.Did you notice i did not id the boat.the owner knew it had been surveyed at 4mm so it may not be a shock ..so much. i can only report what i find. Cheers Jimbo hope your well fella
Next time measure the thickest flat area around it, then use a depth gauge to measure the pit. Some tyre gauges are good for this if they have wide enough arms.
yes i used to use a little tyre gauge. when it's that thin it doesn't matter. boat got launched anyway against my advice and started sinking a week later 🙄
How old is the boat and how thick was the the base plate originally? When we sold our last boat it was 22 years old, never had the base plate blacked just checked every couple of years when out for blacking. It had no pits or loss of thickness and had spent it's entire life on the move. I think sitting around on shore power eats away these boats. PS, I enjoy the videos, keep up the good work.
Hi Phil not sure how old the boat is but it’s certainly more than 22 more like 44 lol. It was only ever 6mm plate to start. Yes galvanic iso may help but they can’t hold back time. Thanks for watching mate
Hi Borre. i think in this instance it may have helped if it was always blacked underside properly. Its different from the last hole video. that was wear from the bottom of canal.
cheers mate..spam removed. the answer to that is dont know and dont know. lol. i will find out more later. cheers for watching mate. also your vid with the poem was amazing, had little tingles up me neck @ru-vid.comabout
