Why you need a STEREO Microphone!! Check the Godox IVM-S3 out! 

I use my Azden smx-30 which is both a professional mono shotgun and a true stereo mic 120 degrees. The quality is outstanding with Auto on/off, two batteries AA, 20/0/-10 gain and low cut filter. A simple switch allow stereo /mono and it is only 371$ CDN on amazon. I bought it at B&H new york. It has both foam and windscreen fur. The mono shotgun reduce side sound. It can be set on camera or on a boompole for cinema. It is top quality.

Thanks for providing all those examples! For me personally, this is yet another confirmation that at this price point, a device with stereo microphones, preamps, headphone out and integrated battery just can’t sound good. I’m not a fan of the frequency response with that massive, wide upper mid spike, and lacking low end. In theory an EQ can correct that, but man, it’s always a hassle. So... in that sense, your review helped me decide that it’s not for me and that’s really helpful. =) Btw I totally agree that stereo audio is criminally underappreciated. =)
