Yep, that canister is very well designed and manufactured. I've had one hooked to my bag for the last several yrs. It doesn't leak or rattle loose. Damn near perfect product! Great video man!✌️
@@Newton240sx can’t leak With two rubber seals !! I seen RU-vid video buddy had one in his bag for three years. Never evaporated. Zippo fluid don’t have a rubber seal on the cans.
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors I don't know where I saw someone say it leaked, maybe on Amazon review or something. That is what always kept me from getting one but I'm on board now haha
@@Newton240sx hahaha they probably Didnt screw or tight. Don’t forget every user on Amazon isn’t intelligent. If I seen 10-20 comments saying the same thing then I might question it. But science my friend science I trust.
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors Thats true the handwarmers do use more fluid! I've kept a fuel canister in my camping bag for emergencies just incase I need to start a fire or something, the double seal keeps the fuel from evaporating for a really long time! It's almost been 2 seasons and no fluid has seemed to leaked out
@@theDmama exactly why they are a must have. I’ve herd the fluid warmers are better than the battery ones. They are warmer and last longer apparently do u know anything about that ?
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors I feel like it depends on the application, the fluid ones are great for the outdoors or when youre walking somewhere in the snow and they can be used with other fluids like alcohol if you are in a pinch. I have a 6 and 12 hr warmer and I've noticed the 6hr one heats up alot warmer than the 12 hour one, they both use the same size catalyst so it might just be because the 6hr one doesn't need to heat up as much metal as the 12 hr warmer. The only application i feel where the fluid warmer isn't good is if youre trying to sleep with it, the way these handwarmers catalyze the fluid really makes my nose burn and eyes itch when I keep it under the blankets, in that sense I would go for electric and just hook it up to a portable battery or something
Agreed ! Saves me once a month at least. People laugh at u if u have a zippo and it runs out of fluid with them. I have no idea why bic people are like that.
I have one and love it. For me, it seems to fill up a stock Zippo just about perfectly, not sure how it would fill a Cotton Bacon filled Zippo, but regardless a great tool to have. I took the tools off mine, I figured the flint holder would be chintzy, but as you said, I guess it isn't. Might have to get a few more... haha, great vid!
Haha yeah mine. I’ve always used the flint holder. I was always worried it would break. Never did. I say 4 years in the video for some reason lol probably closer to 6-7. But the only one I ever carried never broke in all that time. Also the screw tool is stamped zippo on it. So that’s kinda cool to have on the key chain.
Hi, I have the petrol canister, since winter 2013. I don't use it much, but when I have to be away from home for a few days, it's really convenient, and I couldn't do without it anymore. This is watertight. Instead of carrying the can with you, you bring this small container, which is not bulky and ensures you many ignitions, with our zippo.
I got one a couple of months ago for my keys and my Zorro metal gasket insert that I EDC. I did the same thing, I replaced that weak ring for a keyring and removed the keyring that doesn't fit. I also replaced the swivel snap hook for a much smaller one to decrease the bulkiness.
Cool looking container. I usually fill my Zippo before I leave the house if I'm going to be anywhere for any length of time but I'm always home before my Zippo runs out of fluid. If that wasn't the case, if I was going camping for 2 weeks which never happens, I'd probably throw a 5 ounce can of fluid in my car to be covered if I ran out, and that's what I'd end up doing, even though the can doesn't have the " cool factor " of the canister. Well, if I bought one, it wouldn't be the first time I bought something I didn't actually need. Let me think about it ...
I wish I knew about these in the late 2000s when I worked in Russia. Back then, I would stuff two hand warmers in my winter jacket during verification visits and they would run out just before lunch. I always felt silly having to bring in a full size can to refill at lunch to get through the rest of the day. This small sized re-filler would have been much more convenient.
Zippo can seal up their proprietary fuel canisters, but they can't keep the fuel from leaking out of their cheap lighters in the first place even though other companies have been doing so flawlessly for over a century
@missourimongoose8858 When I say leak, I mean you have to refill it every week regardless of how often you use it, I don't mean it literally dribbles out. I have a lighter from 1973 made in Japan. It's kerosene powered, and you could fill it in January and light candles on Christmas with it
@@BenjaminISmith they make gaskets for zippos now which keeps the lighter fluid for alot longer but if your looking for a lighter to use once every few weeks the zippo isn't for you
@@BenjaminISmith u could also buy a zippo butane insert that works just like a Bic and will keep fluid in it for however long, I use the torch insert to light my joints lol
@missourimongoose8858 that's all I'm saying. "The zippo design needs to be improved because unless you smoke 3 packs a day anyway it's not worth the poor fuel economy"
I had to use the Ring that came with it.(The one that is Junk) I couldn't find a key ring small enough to fit through the Hole in the Lid. I just soldered the Joint on the C Ring to keep it from separating.
I would like to make a suggestion if i may, the lighting in the back can be improved to a led white flush, which will make the video quality a lot better...love watching your videos though👍🏽
I'm gonna mask off and etch the logo when I get one eventually. Hopefully be cutting vinyl by then and add some design to it. See how well it takes an etch.
I'd get one but it's too expensive for my pockets right now. If I'm in a pinch (never ran out outside my house so far) I'm gonna buy a 50 cent or 1 buck lighter or even matches since they're cheap as hell (I got a packet of 10 boxes x42 matches for around 50 cents, unreal deal). It is indeed a really useful thing especially if you use a Zippo everyday, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't look like 15 bucks to me right now. I'm gonna get one or two in the future for sure tho. Also 125ml (4oz?) of fuel is around 3.50 bucks on kiosks and you know how it is, you can never have too much fuel with Zippos lol
@John Devlin Wished I was living in the US, I can only dream of 2 bucks for Zippo brand fuel (or for any fuel at all right now lol). Retailers are never overstocked so they always keep the prices up and ordering from abroad is a no no unless you wanna pay a ridiculous shipping and import fee. Good thing medicinal benzene can be used as fuel if it gets to that point
In west EU it's €6,- for a normal 125ml Zippo fluid canister. A little bit cheaper in bulk. I use benzene nowadays. €2,47 a 1L bottle (that's €6x8 125ml cans). Sorry Zippo 😮💨 but it looks the same, smells the same, burns the same.
Nice buds. Yeah I love having this thing. Was pissed when my dad lost mine. In the video I say I lost it. But in reality he did. Didnt just want Throw him under the bus on video. In the comments though different story.
Took an hour nap in 15F degree weather waiting in parking lot with my 12 hour hand warmer. Why on earth I waited so long to get one is beyond me. Still debating pulling trigger on fuel container. They're at $10 plus dollars now.
Funny u say that I ordered a hand warmer yesterday !! Also neck warmer , Bandana , beanie and gator special offers right now on they’re website. I’m pretty excited about the hand warmer cause I live in Canada
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors northern Wisconsin here. The great outdoors is a Tuesday. Already have boots, insulated coveralls and fur-lined bomber hat. Warm is sexy!!!🤣🤣🤣
I bought one and used it for years. Never any evaporated loss, now it does. I thought about replacing the washers in it, but it would be better off to just replace it. Cheaper.😂 Only thing is ya gotta crank the middle part down to keep it from evaporating, and this canister is HARD for me to get a grip on. Any advice on adapting the bottom to increase grip surface?
Thanks ! Yeah I don’t leave home without it. No every one makes fun of me and asks if it’s mini vibrator. I guess the haters own one so they know what they look like lol
I usually carry one or two spare flints in the cotton of the Zippo and loosen the screw with the Zippo case or a pocket knife if I can't open it without the help of tools so I'd probably leave of the tools right away.
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors They used to be 5 bucks? Not only are they over 15 in my country but it seems to be the case online as well (not like I'd order from Amazon or Ebay if they were 5 bucks because I'd pay like 6 times their worth in shipping fees), sucks that they've gotten so much more expensive
You have good points, but what is the main reason that could convince me to purchase this canister instead of just putting the *Zippo 125ml* in my ruck sack ?
@@yani2499 yes but having the full can in your sack is nice. What if it’s raining or snowing and all the wood is wet. Or u got lost. Gonna be out there for a long time. I’d rather have the bottle In that situation over the canister. I always bring my bottle with me in the bush
I have a few of these fuel canisters. The first one works fine and has the most use. I opened a second to do some testing with zippos hand warmers and it would leak fuel when fully tightened down, found out the gasket would not engage. For reference the first one has 180 degrees of felt contact with the gasket when tightening down. On the second it looks like either the threading cut into the outer shell was not enough, or the gasket is too thin. Because of this it never engaged the gasket and the gas can evaporate out between the threads (noticed when can was wet to the touch and smelled of gas when on my pack and the unit was still tightened down). I recently opened my third one to see if it has the problem, and it is in between, 30 degrees of gasket contact before threads bottom out, hopefully that is enough to not loosen up and leak. TLDR: shell threads may not be cut low enough which impacts the ring portions capability to fully seat the gasket on some units.
