I love $2 bills. I used to always get about $50 worth each pay day. Once I went to the mall and used one to pay for a drink and the cashier who was from South America freaked out because she thought I gave her a fake bill 😂
@@danieldaniels7571 I save all the $2 bills we get in our register to give to the young kids as their change. I love their reactions as you can tell it's usually their first time seeing/getting one, they always turn to look at their parents like "omfg is this legit?" 😂
@@pro-socialsociopath769 that sounds fun. Need to give them as many dollar coins as you can too. I love spending those as they tend to get a pretty similar reaction.
@@Timmy-qc1ss and yes and no. Those you can get in bank was not in circulation. Tat's meh in compare with circulated 2$bills. Its not every time collection. Some times is memorabilia 😇
Here in Brazil, R$ 1 bills have been retired in favour of R$ 2 bills and R$ 1 coins some 15 years ago. This was because of the cost of production. Though it is cheaper to produce a bill than a coin, the coin lasts way longer, so for a lower value, the coin worked better. The average lifespan of a bill by that time was between 1 and 3 years, and while the currency has changed many times in the last 40 years, my parents still have some coins as old as me (34 YO).
What’s funny though is how using it can sometimes result in you getting in trouble because of how uncommon it is, stores will sometimes think it’s a fake bill and will deny service or call the police because of “counterfeit money”
My great grandfather used to only tip with 2 dollar bills. When he passed away, all of 2 dollar bills were given to his children. So, when I went to my grandmother’s house I found she had $1500 worth of 2 dollar bills. Lucky for me, I found a star note that I got to keep.
My grandma has rolls and rolls of $2 bills, she started collecting them in the early 70s, she would give them out on birthdays. She still goes to her bank and asks if they have any 2 dollar bills every once in awhile, and she'll come back home with as many as she can get.
@@chaser8gaming536 Just ask your teller next time you go to the bank. A bundle of 100 of them is only $200. I use them instead of $1's. Even the guy with the cardboard sign gets a $2 bill from me.
I’m American and that’s the first thing I thought: I mean that’s a US dollar so most people probably haven’t. This dude forgot not everyone used our money 😅
Ever open a birthday card to see a 2$ bill, that's what my grandparents did to all us grandkids 😂. Then I tried to spend it at school for lunch, the lady thought I was using fake money... She ended up getting laughed at by another much older lunch lady for not knowing what a 2$ bill was😂.
Like in Malaysia we used to have RM2 but it becomes rarer and rarer that it feels they not exists anymore. The last RM2 that I used is when I buy a food from the canteen and that's like 15 years ago.
My mom actually has a pair of $2 bills for myself and my brother in her box of baby stuff. Considering I'm only 22, I wonder where those bills came from since they were reprinted in the 70's. In either case, it's cool that I have a piece of that history.
They may have started reprinting them in the 70's, but they still print them to this day making all modern two dollar bills worth $2 (unless it's some kind of rare misprint).
My grandma always made it a tradition to include $2 bills in any birthday or Christmas presents she gave out. It was a little thing that just made her style unique. She did pass away over a year ago, but we made sure to keep the tradition alive by burying her with a stack of $2 bills that the family gave together.
you can literally ask the bank for 2 dollar bills when you take money out. My mom works for a pretty high end golf club and theres a group of 3-4 guys that only tip her 2 dollar bills.. like brand new, not even a wrinkle, fresh twos
You can literally go to any bank and just ask for them. I used to work some part time shifts for my dad in our family business. My stipulation was that I would only accept payment in $2 bills. He would dutifully go to the bank to pay me $200 in $2 bills each week.
I have one in my cars owners manual folder for good luck, it has some type of stamp on it from some company, and I got it from my dad’s collection so its even cooler.
The crossing guard at my old school used to give all the kids 2 dollar bills when they lost a tooth…I have around 5 2 dollar bills in my room just by going there for like 3 years
Once in goodwill there was this dude who was wearing clothing in only one color and my brother said he saw his paying with only 2s. He drove a hybrid jaguar.
Every time this one military customer came into my store, he'd only pay in 2 dollar bills, and another one only in dollar coins. Apparently, if you are in the military, you get to decide exactly how you are paid and in what denomination.
My uncle gave me a book with sheets of $2 bills when I was a kid. Never touched the money in there. Unfortunately it got destroyed during a bad flood we had here in Colorado about a decade ago so I no longer have it
Best buy had some poor dude arrested because a customer tried to pay in $2 bills and the dumbfk cashier and manager thought it was fake and those didn't exist. Man I hope the guy who spent a night in jail took them to court.
These bills are only rare in circulation. You can literally go to any bank and ask them to convert your bills into 2's, and they'll do it no questions asked.
When I worked as a cashier, I used to see them a fair bit. The novelty wears off, but you still keep them in a special part of your drawer to hand off to the kid who is practicing their shopping skills. Same goes for half dollars. I'd hand them off sometimes to adults if my drawer was getting low, and it always made me feel a little bad about keeping them to the side for the kiddies. Everybody loves a $2 bill.
Yknow it’s weird cuz I can remember more commonly seeing these a while ago but now I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen one in the past couple of years
Bro my grandma had so many $2 bills and 50 cent pieces that she gives to me (if I would have saved it all i would have have close to $200 bucks in my pocket 😅BUT NO I DONT SAVE IT 🤣)
