Just a video about why you're always tired, why you're so tired all the time, and how to have more energy. How to stop being tired, and that kind of thing. This is Better Ideas, and me pandering to the algorithm once again.

Correction: Apparently "power posing" has been completely debunked. I was unaware of this when I made the video. While I do not believe this negates the validity of the "what's good for the body is good for the mind" sentiment, there are definitely stronger studies I could have referenced to prove that claim. My apologies.

The best advice that has worked for me so far is "don't spend so much time aimlessly scrolling social media." You will feel SO much better after you start using internet 'actively' (less shorts and scrolling without intention). You can find information, watch movies, read books, listen to podcasts, find art etc etc as long as it's something you sought out and have to actually focus on. Not to mention you will have time for other things and hobbies too, which you can do now, as you have more energy left.

Also I realized that the less time I spend on social media (the only one I have left is RU-vid), the more time and energy I have for relationships that really matter to me. I still need to get out there and try to make more friends - not only for me but also for the sake of my couple girlfriends who have to constantly listen to my dumb shower thoughts - but I'm moving in the right direction.
@lkm630y79

Just a quick recap here that I did, I think the tips are helpful: 1. allocate 40-1 hour before bedtime for the body to fall into slumber 2. try not to use electronic 40-1 hour before bedtime, to prevent brain from thinking it is still daytime. 3. no coffee after 12pm 3. make the bedroom darker 4. use breathe right strips if need to, to practice nasal breathing, for better quality sleep. 5. train the body to be more active each day. the body will get use to this and eventually the body will be able to expend more and more energy each day.

I just want to say, I love how you state that the answer is pretty much the ones we always hear. That's the thing that I love about film and stories. A lot of people cringe at the messages of love and friendship in writing, but they're all so true. We just hear them so much that they fly over our head. If you go into them in detail, you break down a word into a system of not thousands of words, a LIFE, a WORLD full of words and messages. Absolutely brilliant. I'll always appreciate hearing a nice "one smile changes everything". Great video.

Honestly the single most important thing for having more energy is having something in your life that you're excited to do. Having something you're looking forward to when you wake up makes a gigantic difference. Unfortunately, having something to be excited about is easier said than done.
@harrisonjohn4301
@harrisonjohn4301 2 года назад
Dude forsure! I 💯 percent agree with this. I’m not happy (and always tired) either and I just feel like I can’t figure out why. And I’m super introverted so I’ve actually been putting a lot of effort into hanging out with people during the week AND when I don’t feel like it. Even if I don’t have anyone to hang out with I’ll force myself to go outside when I don’t feel like it. Like tomorrow I’m going to go surfing by myself even though I don’t feel like it because I know it’ll make me feel better. But my point is with that I guess is even though you can put in a lot of effort to better your life…you can still feel like it’s missing something or you can still feel unhappy. I’m still not sure why but a BIG one forsure is having something to be excited about weekly or everyday. And it’s hard to find things like that.

This is exactly the answer especially for me, the same mundane slave driving has chipped away at me over the past few years and caught up with me this year and just gave up and now existing. With no goal or anything to look forward to that you truly enjoy and want there is no meaning or motivation. Its even harder trying to figure out what that is or to know what it is but you just cant have it. Im tired all the time and i mean exhausted but cant sleep because i cant shut my mind down and then wake up feeling like complete shit everyday no matter how much sleep i do or don't get. Its insane and shouldn't be so hard to lead or have a decent or mediocre life. Its no wonder people become addicted to drugs and alcohol and things like that. I wish the best to everyone struggling in similar ways and battling with themselves everyday just to survive to exist

I drink about 4-8 cups of coffee a day. It's a part of the finnish culture. At least 2 cups in the morning, then during work and school, especially lunch coffee, then a couple cups after work. Sometimes also "evening coffee" at like 6pm. And if you're visiting someone, like a friend or family, they automatically brew coffee for everyone. Caffeine addiction is just in our culture. :D Another thing, we Finns live in darkness for over half of the year. The sun gets up at like 10am and goes down at 5pm. In Northern Finland it doesn't come out at all. So during autumn and winters we are very tired. We get a revenge during summers though, when in the north the sun doesn't go down AT ALL for the whole summer, and in southern Finland it goes down for like 3 hours at 1-4am. Finland is... weird. But I love my country and culture.
@ArualCrisp
@ArualCrisp Год назад
I mean, you have complete power over your habits. I live in northern Finland but i don't drink 8 cups of coffee a day just because its culture and its offered at every hour of the day. I stick to one in the morning because i know how much it can mess my sleep up and this reason alone makes that afternoon coffee not worth it. Energy can be found by developing good bed time habits and good morning routines. Though I am not speaking for my boyfriend who lives off multiple cups of coffee, watches streams to fall asleep, snoozes alarm 10 times in the morning and complains everyday how he is tired 😂.

Also, anxiety and depression can cause chronic fatigue, and sometimes people don’t realize they’re suffering from that because they have loads of good ideas and projects they wanna do - maybe feeling motivated too - while their body is actually depleted of energy due to packed up failures and traumas from the past. So, if you’re feeling tired, maybe ask yourself if there are inner unresolved things you put under the mat…. It might be hard, but it’s needed to purge your system from all those blocks and toxins that are currently preventing you from actually having all the energy you need 💪🏻 Take care! X

"why you're always tired" my anxiety and depression: hello there
@MakaLoves
@MakaLoves 3 года назад
So true, I used to be chronically tired for more than 10 years and guess what in that time my mental health was as low as it could be. I always tried so much of those tips but I had zero to little results. But since I worked on my mental health 1 year ago, I realized that I’m not super tired all the time. I only wanted to work on my mental health because my depression and anxiety made my life exhausting and hard for 10 years!! Being less and less tired everyday was a big bonus and I never want to go back to those days were I was just a piece of crap 😅

@@vv4ra thank you so much 🙏🏼 I really like that you believe in yourself that you can and WILL be better. This is the fist step ✨ a little tip that I learned is to appreciate the little things in life, for me it was going for little walks with my fav tea and to not be too judgmental to ourselves. For I really wanted to exercise more and I used to go to the gym and do at leat 1 hour of workouts and when I didn’t I felt bad, now even if I exercise for only 5-10 min every two days, I feel better because I at least did something and I am reaching my goals step by step instead of wanting it to reach them fast. ( I live in country with warm weather) 3) Increased the height on my hair ( crazy ) but having it in the lowest height made me lean back more and feel lazy , as if Im slouching on the couch 4) Journaling my work and what I do. I always seem to forget what I did the other day so I write down everything I do related to work 5) Cut distractions and work in a cold environment. 6) Cut down on heavy meals and switch to less heavy ones. 7) Workout 6 times a week and take a off day on sunday to meet friends / play video games to destress 8) Do something competitive , I do Sim racing and also powerlifting/ strongman. Accumilate small wins that you can look back on 9) Have a supportive gf ( hardest thing to get for most guys, so I put it at the bottom). 10) Have 2 huge monitors / 1 ultra wide monitor and a good table for your workspace. Combined 64 inches of screen at 4k helps me to organize things on the screen and focus on multiple things .

Meditation and cold shower are the ultimate life hacks to remove stress. (I'm on cold showers everyday and meditation sometimes)

The caffeine part is clutch. Once I started cutting back on my afternoon coffee, the sleep definitely got better. I appreciate the amount of clips you put into this by the way, must’ve taken forever

But the problem is that there really is no good way about. Sometimes you need that cup when you fee l worn out and tired and cannot function. Even though later the sleep may not be the best. Its really annoying. You know being stuck in this body with all its problems and discomforts

Do you guys thing that taking melatonin pills when we've had a late cup of coffee can help to counteract the effects of caffeine?

@@oliviagarrett1853 I take them when I know I’ll have to wake up early, but I also cut out the coffee on the day before as well

Better Ideas: I don't look at a screen, especially in bed. *Me: Watching this video 20 mins before I go to sleep, just like every night.* 😅

every person is different, I can't fall asleep if I don't watch a video because then I start over-thinking, if I put a video I will fall asleep in 15-20 minutes
