I have since switched out one Overdrive assassin for a supplementary damage because of diminishing returns from two overdrive sigils The overdrive assassin is mostly for performing breaks faster in blood lust and doing more SBA damage in overdrive as well because the cap on damage is very high typically. Try it you will notice a big difference in the bosses i kill you scenes. But a lot of people Min max only damage so Play how you want. I and most people are not speed runners or Mod hunters
Its very true. and sad. I have enjoyed using untouchable after this video. but its likedamage cap crit attack. then go glass cannon or use potion hoarder.... maybe 1 sigil per character for like combo booster os tyranny but its a great game. sigil is buttcakes though
I am pretty sure that's not how overdrive works. Overdrive (and bloodlust) reduce the damage *caps* as well as the damage you deal. Overdrive reduces damage caps by ~10%-30%, and bloodlust by ~75%-90%. The cap is still there though - even in your fight on the fire dragon you can see fire dragon overdrive damage cap reduction is ~10% on first overdrive and 30% on second. You're doing 62k per ice bolt outside of overdrive, and 56k within the first overdrive, and 44k in the second overdrive. My builds on io with 0 overdrive assassin do the exact same numbers. The main reason to "overcap" on damage is because some characters have wildly different damage caps per move. Io and Charlotta are good examples. Io's SBA is insanely hard to cap, most builds will not even reach 50% of the cap on most of its hits - this also makes SBA cap almost a dead stat on Io (and a lot of other characters). Io's god roll OM's are gonna be something like normal cap, crit, skill cap + one of either attack, sba damage (NOT cap), or chain burst damage. Charlotta's square/x finisher is similarly crazy hard to cap on its first 5 hits, with most builds barely reaching 20% of the cap. Whether or not it's worth it for you to massively overcap on raw damage just to improve the caps on those few abilities is up to players to decide. In *these* situations, something like overdrive assassin could be useful - but even then I think most players would prefer to always raise the damage on those abilities rather than have it be conditional. Maygi has a spreadsheet of all the damage caps for almost every character in the game, you can play around with it to find out exactly what combination of sigils you need to hit the caps you care about.
This comment was helpful I got the words on bloodlust and overdrive mixed up I guess. I didn't know this about overdrive though. Imma have to do more testing now. You CAN hit the dmg cap pretty easy with combo booster on Io. Ille probably edit the overdrive part out of the vid out. Overdrive assassin still doubles the damage in BLOODLUST so that's been why my fights take way less time it performs breaks way quicker specially in a hole team of overdrive assassin ai. At the beginning of video I said to do the math with all the skills you care about not just one.
One stat i find very useful as a bonus is Uplift, i have 3 sigils with it as the secondary stat and that 30% SB gain really makes a difference, especially when using characters with high attack output like Charlotta (my main), Ferry, lancelot etc or on characters who lack sb gain like siegfried or eugen who attack slower for maximum dmg output Getting your SBs fast really helps in fights where you want to cheese overdrives or boss mechanics, with a good party i've been getting 2 SBs in one rotation on proto bahamut consistently
They made this system way more complicated than needed lol They know that ppl like seeing big numbers. We shouldn’t have to jump through all these hoops just to see numbers go up 😂
the numbers have a shiny line through the number around them when you hit. also if its the same number every time with an ability or skill you are probably capped
Its quite annoying even having damage cap be a thing. Id rather have complete build freedom/variety instead of being forced to use 4 sigil slots for literally ever single character.
I think they did it for balancing so that they could put each character in a DPS/support/tank category as far who gets what abilities and attack patterns without making anyone straight up op. I used to hate it till i realized all the characters are viable, unlike most games with characters as a battle choice. Like some of the warframes in warframe just suck. It is not the case in granblue.
That makes sense, but even if a character is more support/tank they still have to add damage cap its weird. Each terminus weapon is geared toward straight up damage. They should have made each weapon unique then and geared towards certain strengths. Like max hp for Vane/Captain with all their support skills, or high stun on someone else. As is half the cool sigils like weak point bonus, combo boost/finisher are useless. Everyone runs damage cap, and stamina with a bit of crit rate thrown in. No variety.@@ryechew
Running dodge payback with it to get some attack back. Thinking of actually playing around a flight or fight Lancelot build revolving around skills and sba instead of all out attack. 🤔
lol i got 3 supp dmg V and 2 supp dmg IV+ with 120 hour ingame, am i cheating? ofc not, i just want to say that the drop rate is not that bad, ppl are just unlucky.
Ille definitely be deleting it out. I agree with this statement after discovering it. Also I don't even mind if people mod them especially for solo speedruns.
Music in the videos or Nah?? There is an argument for more DPS Just to hit the cap Inside bloodthirst but an extra 25% damage in overdrive isn't worth it to me. But a lot of people Min max only damage so Play how you want. I and most people are not speed runners or Mod hunters
@KG-mv5uo the drop rates are wild right. We know a lot more now. This video was 10 days ago. But also rates could have changed since then. I know after slimes they changed the rates for rainbow slimes since release. We have a thousand quests in them. I was talking more about the ones with v+ though. Like dark hero2s vids showed builds with SuppV+ crit hit rate early into then game wich was modded in for sure. Not there's anything wrong with that unless he was giving out farming advice which he wasn't so I don't care.
Like other people said, it's a shame we have to lock down multiple slots for Cap. I think a more elegant way would be if it were an inherent thing on weapons, gaining DamCap+ per upgrade up to the max (or near max) at level 150 OR if each weapon had it's own Cap+ rating, say Terminus gives 45 ranks wheras the stun or flat atk weapon gives 10, the rarer weapon being clearly stronger, but alleviating a bit of the burden on builds regardless.
they just did it so if a character ever goes broken they can edit the caps i think. But i don't know. i do agree that 4 slots is just egregious. And three if you have a best wright stone but that is dumb.
For those who can consistently perfect dodge, i would highly suggest maxing Nimble onslaught because it extends invulnerability up to 7 seconds for free uninterrupted dmg, which is very useful against bosses that spam attacks like Galanza or when fighting multiple bosses at once, as well as other different situations. It also helps you skip some of the dangerous multi-hit attacks during bloodlust phases just by perfect dodging once every 7 seconds. Not to mention it also lowers cd and regens some SBA, which also contribute to extra dps in the long run.
Have you tried a team build with uplift, link together, break assassin and overdrive assassin for everyone on your team to see if it's better than just focusing on 1 character ?
Im actually going to run a test for one link and sba character, a stunner and either 2 DPS or Another stunner. right now Im making a parts breaking guide though.
I got REALLY lucky with Curios and have 3 supplementary damage Vs. The 100% uptime on multiple ticks is crazy good for folks like Percival. Kinda sad that even after all that I've yet to see a single War Elemental though
Mine didnt come till 600 and it was a IV. Now i have two 5's and a 4 so it feels like the higher the quest the better the curio but i have no reference point
Specking into more defense will result into better uptime and more successful runs for the most people. And it is even preferable for hardcore players that are progging new content.
the thing is, assassin sigils are conditional, the moster needs to be in a certain state so you can deal more damage, while other sigils might be better cuz they work all the time
yes they are but monsters are also conditional and phases play a big part in how to do stuff. I have since switched out one of my overdrives for a supp sigil.
Lol what if you have 100% supplementary you are cheating. Yeah ok bud. If you have 3 supplementary damage 5+ you are almost certainly cheating. Supp damage Vs are nowhere close as rare. Once you get into the silver centrum grind I’m sure you will have them too.
200 hours in the game all terminus weapons and I only have one supp5 and just got a war elemental the other day guess I'm just wicked unlucky then because they aren't common for me
Man, I feel this, haha. I have all terminus weapons, and 5 of them are fully awakened. Only supp sigil (V), and one war elemental that I got recently (after 4th fully awakened weapon). It be like that, lol
@Zexxthecrow I know you didn't was just using it as a example of my rng because I keep seeing people saying you should have these as they are pretty common before you hit end game and they are very much not at least for me lol
the solid orange is Attack. so far it seems like you cant roll with a two solid orange sigil or a sigil with two of the same properties. So no Life on the line/stamina but yes Crit rate/stamina. I do think Damage cap counts as an attack sigil even though its under special but as I dont use mods i cant give you drop rates and say for sure.
You can actually roll Character-specific sigils+ with Damage cap as a subtrait. In fact, Character-specific sigils+ can roll any non-character-specific trait.
@@ryechew You can get multiple damage caps though on one Wrightstone freeing up space if lucky, even if you cant get them on a sigil. I just rolled a Crit 7, DMG Cap 6, DMG Cap 5 stone.
@Halaster That's cool. Unfortunately it maxes out 65. So I only need 5 dmg cap on a stone or nothing but fully maxed out damage caps on a stone. I'm exited for the future content
you can try glass canon if you wanna push your damage cap further or you can try flight over fight if you love dodging (add improve dodge , nimble defense, and nimble onslaught for better effects), and add supplementary dmg This game not just for full damage build you can try all build that suitable for your playstyle
@rflchannel I agree with that statement. As long as your hitting cap your doing good enough to not weigh team down. Well, as long as skill isn't butholes
I think if you do flight or fight you should just go improved dodge and raw dps. if you have an ascended terminus weapon it wont be that hard to cap out.
you would have to nearly 2.5 your damage to hit your damage cap in overdrive. so its impractical to worry about your damage cap in overdrive unless you are really trying to squeeze seconds out of fights. I guess the phrasing could have been better
Overdrive comes with a big defense buff and you'd either have to stack a lot of attack sigils or overdrive assassin. Honestly 30lvls was over kill but I wanted to hit the caps for the video. Ille be removing that sentence out of the video because this comment was just the first
The only fight I've felt comfortable using Glass Cannon is P.Baha. Fairly easy to just never get hit on that fight, but if you get hit once on something like Pyet-A you just get stun locked and die.
I did notice. a lot of speed runners using it outside P.bahamut. But how many runs did it take is always my first question. I saw a Rackam with 800% Atk on a character and thought it was funny.
this is true. its all just going to come down to player preference. and ultimately one overdrive sigil and one supp sigil will net the most results anyway du to diminishing returns on maxing out skills.
I have a flight of fight+ with cascade, i have it on a Vaseraga just so i have a vaseraga that you have to try to die to actually die. Sure i lose damage cap on Combo B.... but at least i still damage cap on Combo C and the 2 skills that chain to a charged attack. hehe.
@@ryechew i've been called a hacker for being able to live through mechanics on vaseraga because of that... :')))) All i have is Flight over fight, nimble onslaught 15, nimble defense 15, improved dodge 15, guts, potion hoarder 15, steel nerves 15. (Originally i had steady focus too :) ) Vaseraga has almost perma access to stoutheart by default. Can still blast through everything, with the exception of you just cant die.
I am desperately trying to get a War Elemental sigil, but the curios just aren't dropping it for me. I have two Supp. DMG Vs I'm using as a way to get around the fact that even with five DMG Cap V+s, I'm still hitting damage cap. Got pretty good OMs for caps, but my fully Awakened weapon on Rackam is hitting that wall lmao. Haven't gotten to the last mission to farm my Terminus yet.
@@ryechew Yeah, I've got all 5 of his pre-Terminus weapons maxed as well already, with the Ascension weapon fully Awakend and +99'd. As of this response, I just defeated Radis Whitewyrm as I climb the ladder to Proto Bahamut. I've just been having absolutely no luck on the curios for War Elemental is all.
Just stumbled on your channel champ and I’m going to say I dig your style and enjoy your break downs and explanations and showing real builds, because i know most want to show the same damage sigils but don’t explain survivability or real theory crafting builds so thank you good sir
I appreciate that. Also showing a build and saying saying thre suppV sigils and one is a Critrate supp with some other obviously nodded sigils is wild to tell people to run a build. Or even suggesting people running glass cannon is crazy haha
Would love to see a vane version of this been struggling trying to build him and fit everything i think i need in but seems like i dont need what i thought i needed
once you ascend the terminus weapon anything over 60% attack boost is pretty much overkill unless its for a specific purpose like the crystals with shields in bahamut. Assuming you have overdrive assassin
Are you asking about the Attack Power sigil itself? It's flat ATK, and you would need quite a bit of it to outscale any of the %ATK sigils like Tyranny, Life on the Line, Stamina, etc. I would not recommend the Attack Power sigil itself over a percentage based one, unless it is a secondary stat on a sigil you need.
I agree. Especially if you get the terminus weapon ascended. Most people cap out on a not overdrive monster with around 65% attack up on a crit so anymore is wasted in my opinion unless your speed running for an extra couple seconds
Man, this is the best explanation of the game I've ever seen 🫡💜 Everything is clear and understandable, thank you for the great video ❤ So let's make it clear, we have : DMG Cap ATK Supp DMG DMG Dealt All of these depend on the character you choose 😊
Its not difficult to have 3 SupV if you've been grinding curios (unless you are mad unlucky). SupV+ with good second trait is impossible rare, I doubt there's more than a handful of honest people in the world who have 3x of those.
