I just recently got around to hacking mine. I’m actually glad I didn’t get a Nintendo switch cause I have more fun on the ds. Every now and then I get on my gfs switch

I got myself a N2DS XL literally 1 week before the e-shop closed and bought some games I wanted to buy just to play them "legally" and not the "other" way even tho I just wanted to just buy one game in particular, still an amazing console mostly due to its portability and comfortness of being able to carry the console on your regular pocket

2019, I decided to buy the 2DSXL (my cousin recommended it), a game case along with 4 games (Pokemon Sun, Rune Factory 4, Devil Survivor 1 Overclocked & 2 Record Breaker) It was worth it. 😁

I own a 2DS XL and love it. Just recently had it modded. Love having and creating custom themes for it. I miss being able to streetpass someone too. I always enjoyed seeing what kind of people I connected with on it.

Cool video, I’ve had a 2ds xl I’ve had for the last four years or so that really didn’t start seeing heavy use until a few months ago. After modding it I can honestly say it’s my favorite system to date. Since doing so I’ve really wanted to get my hands on a N3DS XL but like you say in the video… finding one for a good price in good condition had been a challenge. Until yesterday when I scored one on market place for $150 thats minty fresh. Deals are still out there people! Just might take a little time. 😉

Just got a modded 2DS XL and I love it, so happy that I can play all my old favorite GBA games on there with a bigger screen ❤ having a blast with final fantasy tactics, advance wars, and golden sun alone never mind all the ds and 3ds games 🙌🏻 well worth the money spent.

Bought one back at the start of covid in 2020 and I loved it, ended up installing homebrew and all of that to make it the best as possible!

@@antony1012 Yes you will need a pc to put homebrew and various other apps to hack it. For instance you will need homebrew (obviously) and then fbi if you want to get .cia filed and put them on the Home Screen. I don’t think you need FBI but I do to have the games on my home screen. Not all files will be a .cia file so you will need the twilight menu to play .nds, .gbc, etc. Also in the twilight menu they have folders for each gaming console to put your games in so put them in the correct folder for neatness. And if you download sega mega drive 2 (genesis) games then make sure you rename them to .gen. Oh and one more thing. I would get a micro sd card that is at least 32 gb. Idk if the ds can use more than that you’ll have to research that

@@meloanthony3781 ah man I haven’t owned a 3ds since I was 11. If I remember correctly it should be the same layout as the new 3ds but don’t quote me on that. What I would do is try to install homebrew on it like a normal new 3ds but if you can’t do that then install the twilight menu. That shouldn’t need homebrew app. If that doesn’t work then you can go really old school and use an r4 card. Classic. If I’m gonna be honest I never use the homebrew app and use the twilight menu but idk if you need them both

I like how the 2ds xl keeps the 800x240 top screen from the 3DS line of consoles. It means you get this cool scan line effect on the top screen, and makes it look like a crt monitor. Good video, but about the price.... holy moly are these consoles expensive. They used to cost ~$79.99 USD.

Like 3 months ago i decided to get a new 3ds xl, which, to my surprise, was actually in good condition. I had dreamed of getting a new3ds xl for over a year. I like the 3d on the "new" 3ds, which is kinda why i bought it. But i still REALLY love the new 2ds xl. Great opinion

The thing about the 3ds eshop that I didn’t know I’d miss until it was non existent on the Switch is the little gift wrapped box they put your game in after it finished downloading 🥹.

Yeah I love mine I had a 3ds original but as I got older it became more uncomfortable to use so I Sold it was fully modded so I wanted a 2dsxl I got one my £90 pretty much brand new no scratches or nothing absolutely incredible so I got it at a very cheap price but yeah I have modded it and has 150 games on it just from picking up a 128sd card for £7 definitely worth it

I love the N2DSXL but wont use it as my main 3ds console that I play with. The shoulder buttons are sometimes a pain. seems like the shoulder buttons are the part that breaks the most often. With a normal 3Ds/N3Ds replacing the shoulder buttons inst bad, but given that they are soldered on the N2DSXL... yea, its just a dealbreaker for me. I still buy ones that are in good condition, even from the N2DSXL lineup, but will keep them as decoration.

CORRECTION: The "new 2ds xl" has the exact same 1300mAh(not 1400) battery as the small "new 3ds", only the "3ds xl" and "new 3ds xl" have the bigger 1750mAh battery.

It is NOT the best. The larger screen makes the image more pixelated, the hinge is more exposed to danger and the 3D effect is gone. The New 3DS is the best. One less hour is not a deal breaker. Plus there's the added bonus of face plates.

The New 2DS XL sucks. And here is why: 1. The handheld is impossible to repair if the handheld is broken. 2. The power button is at the bottom of the handheld, just like on the New 3DS and New 3DS XL. 3. After you attach the New 2DS XL grip add-on, the grip add-on muffles the the New 2DS XL's speakers! 4. The rechargeable battery is a hassle to replace! 5. The stylus for the New 2DS XL is way too small and it does not extend and retract! 6. The New 2DS XL's hinge is crappy and it makes the top screen floppy! And 7. The New 2DS XL's cameras have been relocated.

I remember buying a Brand New 2DS XL off eBay which was 200$ Back in 2019 to get into 3DS Modding and before Nintendo Scared the shit out of people because of the Eshop Closing Down. Oh Boy the Prices for a New One are Double or even sometimes Triple. I had lots of Fun and still do now with WarioWare Gold and Mario and Luigi Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr’s Journey.

Got a Japanese Metal Slime 2DS XL a few years back for around $90 USD, well worth the price considering how easy it is to mod and get rid of the region lock.

@@SniP3rHavOk I ended up putting Custom Firmware on it to get rid of the region lock. Having Luma on a 3ds can disable it and let you play any physical or downloaded game.

I prefer the new 3ds xl due to the 3d slider only because I just like having the feature there just in case I were to want to see a cutscene or something in 3d but I am still looking into getting a 2ds xl just to collect

3d is novelty and for the price it's not worth it imo but all up to preference, 2ds is a much more stable option

Yesterday I bought the Lavender & White edition 2DS XL as it has been my dream 3DS/2DS console for a while now. It cost me £140 from CEX, which is my go-to place for pre-owned games. Though the website did not have images of the exact product I would be receiving, CEX have listings of different qualities depending on if the console has little damage (scratches, bumps & dead pixels), like-new/unboxed or new/boxed. I chose the unboxed version which I assume is close to being new condition or perhaps a refurbished product (Which I don't mind, so long as it works right?!). It will also be my first "New" edition of the 3DS/2DS family. Though my original 3DS XL will still have a place in my heart, I am excited for this upgrade. ^_^

I was never planning to get a New 2DS XL until one day my dad came home with a standard blue 3ds, but was unsure if it worked, I got a charger for £6 and it worked! I'm a huge skylanders fan, I have over 200 figures and all the games, so I remembered that the 3DS also had some Skylanders games that were different So I try out the games and I absolutely loved them! But unfortunately I couldn't play for more than 20 minutes at a time due to the small size. So I'm hoping to get a New 2DS XL soon

The 2ds line of systems cannot use 3d in any way, including the cameras. The only reason it has 2 cameras is because the camera app was built for using 2

I had a New 3DS XL but it was falling apart, the camera broke, the right side of the touch screen wouldn’t work, the paint was chipping off, etc, then I saw that Nintendo still does repairs for that system, so I sent it in. They couldn’t fix it so they sent me a New Nintendo 2DS XL for free, which is perfect because I was actually going to try to find one at a good price

Don't forget to link your 3ds and Switch accounts, so you can add funds to switch and spend them on 3ds. Until March 2023.

Now that the New 2DS XL is around the same price of a New 3DS XL on eBay, there's not much point in getting one. The New 2DS XL actually does have worse battery life than the New 3DS XL and has a cheaper build quality as well. I also feel like the 3D effect has become a very important part of the 3DS experience, because without it you just have a bad quality low resolution handheld that is a much worse 2D experience than a Switch Lite, which you can find used on eBay for literally $100. If you just want to play the exclusive games on 3DS and don't care about 3D at all, then there is also emulation which allows you to play them at a much higher resolution.

Tbh, facebook marketplace, offerup, and Craigslist for price if you want a cheap 3ds. You might even find one that isn't destroyed. If you want a clean one. Ebay is unfortunately the correct one

I like the New 2DS too, it’s a good console, but the thinness of the console is also a huge weakness. My old 3DS has survived since around launch day from my 3 year old hands for NINE YEARS and I still have it today (though I play on my New XL version instead), while my “New” 2DS barely survived a year and then it broke from my brother *sitting on it.*

Honestly I have a new 3ds xl and a old 3ds xl i can see the need to get a 2ds xl because for its size. It is the perfect console for portability it is thin the other 3ds i have is kind of bulky like the 3ds xl variants as bulky as they are but the 2ds xl just seems right also i dont really care about the 3D so this seems like the perfect console for me

I'm posting this comment on Saturday June 18th, 2022. I live in Mecklenburg County. My local Walmart, Target, BestBuy & Gamestop don't carry anything 3DS related. NO games NO consoles(3DS line) NO accessories At my local Gamestop in Concord Mills, all they carry are the 3DS cartridge. NO box art.

then make it, im sure some people would really appreciate a console buying guide. Since you asked ill tell you my 2ds xl story cause its one I still love. One day I was at breakfast in school, some girl pulled it out and said she was gonan sell it for $20, I said "for real?" and she replied "Yea". $20 later I got a 2ds xl, albiet it was dead but it was fully functional. Nowadays I got it hacked but my charger stopped working so I gotta wait for Amazon to get it shipped.

Don't know where you got that sheet with the hardware data, but the battery of the 2ds xl it's actually 1300mah (the same as the original 3ds), it has the worse battery by far between all the "New" models, even being an XL model

honestly I think the original New 3DS is way better. The New 3DS XL is good. the new 2ds is alright. The back camera are in a weird place and I think 3D is really good for some games. The New 2DS XL feels a bit cheap honestly. It feels alright though.
