The Beechcraft King Air is one of the most capable propeller aircraft of all time. With over 6,000 of many variants built since the 1960s, it is an icon of both luxury travel and rough-and-tumble bush piloting. There are few aircraft as versatile or widely used. Asobo created an excellent aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator, and I think the King Air has something to offer all, from new players to hardened flight sim vets.
To show off some King Air fun, we take a flight from Katanning airport in Western Australia, flying a medical transport King Air to Perth Intl. We take off using a dirt runway, and land at a busy international airport, something not unrealistic for a King Air.
As always, these videos are intended to expose people to the fun aspects of flying these different aircraft. These airplanes are not perfect, and I am certainly not an expert in their operation in real life nor in the sim. If you have anything to add, correct, or any fun King Air stories drop a comment below!
Why You Should Fly is a series by VFR looking at the planes we can fly in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and what makes them cool and worth your time. All quality aircraft have some reason that makes them worth flying and we want to share that with all simmers. If you have a favorite airplane in the sim that we haven't covered, and want to tell us why we're nuts for not doing it yet, explain the error of our ways in the comments below!
Thanks for flying with VFR!
