I'm trying to build mine into more of a show car... I'm not sure if I should just get my OEM seats reupholstered or switch the fronts for some comfortable, nice looking aftermarket ones. Thoughts?
Seats are the first mod I have to do on a car. I'm 6ft5 and hardly fit in any sporty car even without a helmet. Before I buy a car I have to Test the seat and measure how much lower and further back it needs to be. Then I look for fitting seats. Seats are very underrated. I think seats change more about the driving than any other modification.
So I have a Sparco seat but screwed up and ordered the wrong seat mount so I'm still in the stock honda seat while my passenger is in the sparco one 🙃🙃
@@grantkendrick277 they make aftermarket bench seats that are super nice and are kinda bucketed in the driver and passenger spot to add some bolstering and keep the bench style
Do a video about Aftermarket Seatbelts. What type of belts there are, price ranges, how to install, what else is required when buying aftermarket belts.
I would pull the trigger on bucket seats, but nothing beats having the option of dropping your seat all the way back while looking through the sunroof.
LOL at aftermarket reclineable seats. look up Recaro seat crash test and look up Bride seat crash test. if they are fixed FIA buckets seats then cool. but reclineable, id rather stick to OEM unless they are truly crap and unsafe.
High performance seats can indeed be very helpful. The brands mentioned in the video are FIA approved. Meaning, in a safety sense, they won't crack in half during an accident. The cheap seats that many buy on eBay are typically not FIA approved. Ask yourself how much you value your life.
I had a set of Corbeau seats once, they were way more comfortable than stock. I had fitment issues with the brackets that Corbeau had for the vehicle and ultimately not only did the padding wear out after about 3 years, some of the welds broke in the seat frames. I replaced them with more comfortable stock seats which has become my preferred method for seat upgrades. I currently have a set of seats from a 98 Integra in my EK civic. They are comfortable and fitment was not an issue with a little bit of parts bucket mods with the seat rails.
Just got a bride cuga carbon kevlar on mine today, wasn’t really used to the seat during reverse parking due to the fact that my view is slightly blocked, but it’s so good, driving experience is totally different, everything feel so stable and smooth 😂
I need some aftermarket seats. My 350z automatic seats just give up to much lol. Will lose the heated seat function and stuff but itll be worth it if i can get manual move my seats.
there was no mention about issues pertaining the airbags for newer cars? i tried changing my seats and was told that the airbags would not function - ive tried the 'resistors' solution which didnt work. what are your thoughts on this matter? thanks in advance!
3rd mod to my 01 Mustang GT were new recaro seats. First did full exhaust (/headers, etc ) then sway bars front rear. Then the seats, stock ones were bricks
I'm hoping you can answer a question for me. I purchased a used 2019 Ford Transit. I have scoliosis and the seats are extremely uncomfortable for me. The aftermarket seats are too expensive. I was wondering if I could pull Nissan Murano seats from a salvage yard for the van? They both have airbag tags on the seats. The question I have is will the air bag wiring harness in the Ford Transit fit any seat or only aftermarket seats? I did look into reupholstering the seats but he says he can not change the contour, only the covering. He suggested replacing them and provided a contact for a metal fabricator to help out.
Any suggestion for a comfortable seats that are daily driven able? but i need it to look abit racey like too. the f30 seats are killing my back when driven long miles
if i plan on driving long distances and may need to exit the vehicle a lot.. which seats would you recommend? good support and comfortable without the bucket
what is your perspective on a car that might already have some racing like seats in them like a gt 86, would you recommend getting new seat or will the stock seats do the job
I wouldn't bother with those cars especially when they are new. The only time you would even bother is if you need to install a roll cage and harness to get into a racing event or if the car has worn out seats or the seats make you move around too much.
Not sure if anyone can help but I installed a short throw dip stick and now my stick says I got no oil in the car so I put a gallon in and it finally shows up on my short throw dip but my car won’t start
Hey I got a question... If your short how do you see over the bucket seat ? Since you can't adjust to go up or down ? Does any company make bucket seats for short people?
Yo wassup gels! Your Japanese New Zealand fan Just letting you know bride seats are pronounced more like brid more like bride. I really like your content g! Keep up yo work!
What are people’s opinions on getting aftermarket seats for a daily driver? I live close to Toronto as well so I experience winters and I know Corbeau offers heating but Braum does not on the Elite-X series and that is what I am looking at. Is it worth sacrificing the heated seats?
So telling me I can fit my tall butt (6'1)into a Z model comfortably with after market seat and daily drive it for hours across Texas w/o killing my knee's, back and neck? Also having heated and cooling seats with adjustability on it going back and forth?
Depending on the racing event, they will require a roll cage with certain specifications, a harness and require that all airbags be deactivated and fully removed from the car.
Ok, so I have a 01 grand prix gtp and I can't find any specific fit seats. Does anyone have any recommendations for good aftermarket seats? I'm new to the car game.
Sheeesh, That is information you will need to do some research on! I can imagine there is a bunch of different smaller details you can look at to verify!
Why my seats lose shape after just few days? I bought used car and seats was great but now after like 3 days seats lose shape. Like part next to my legs now are "crumpled". Is that because I'm "big" and fat? Can I fix it? Its look bad now and I want nice look and shape..
I wanna get some racing seats but want it to adjust like sliding back and forth but do I have to get like an extra bracket for that or do the seats come with it built in
I love Brides too but paying the amount of money they want for 1 seat and I can get 2 of the same quality carbon buckets from Sparco it's a simple decision for me. I've seen the same pair of Bride seats forsale on my local buy and sell for over a year and its cuz he wants 3.5k for used seats lmao 🤷♂️
Anyone have a genesis coupe here ? I love the stock seats they feel great especially the leather ones i have. I’ve been looking at Braum seats but don’t know if it’s worth it
GENNYGANG.. 2.0 premium, seats aren't leather but they hold me really really well in turns and the cushioning is great. I love the look of aftermarket seats but I really wish there was a place to go sit in a bunch before buying them
I would have appreciated some different lighting or background, so I could have seen the details that you were talking about on the black seat sitting on the black table in front of the dark background.
Honestly, the 8-way adjustment seats in my 85 supra are nice, but the driver's side is twisted in the back, the bolsters are seized, and the cloth is in shitty shape. This video might have changed my mind from keeping stock style seats.
I'm happy with the seats in my 06 Eclipse. Their shape is both sporty and confortable enough for me. Now i have not driven it too aggressively so you might be right on the "be tossed all around the inside of your car" XD
Saats are way over heavy ... maybe 100 pounds per seat ...... cooling seats ... heated seats, ... 2 memory adjustment ... power up ... power down ... power forward ... power back ... power thigh adjustment ... power lumbar support ... All these extra powered doo-dads add lots of weight... Not all of us are 74 years old and want to travel at 62 miles per hour. .. Why not have manual adjustment seats and a hand pump for extra soft or hard at 23 pounds per seat. 100 + 100 = 200 pounds just on Cadillac seats. Replace with optional 46 pounds.
Nailing in a wooden plank seat would be more comfortable than my NC Miata seats. I don't care about heating and such. I just want a relatively comfortable seat. Actually wouldn't take very much to upgrade what I have lol.
Be mindful of your passengers size. I bought two seats in a medium since I'm a medium, now only people about my build fit in them. I wish I would have bought the passenger seat a large to make it more people friendly.
