WHY YOU SHOULD GIVE FINAL FANTASY XV A CHANCE (GAME ANALYSIS NO SPOILERS)

Yo, "use nostalgia as a catalyst, not as a chain." That is such a great sentiment. Also FFXV has the best characterization of any of the previous games. The smaller main cast and the random banter you get just wandering around, even the little interactions during the camping sequences, they all made for characters that felt alive. Like they had their own thoughts and motives outside of the cutscenes.

The last campfire scene really got to me😢 also, the somnus song playing during the battles after the time jump 🤌👌

I really enjoyed FF15, and I recommend it to everyone that asks; I just make sure they know the main caveat: "The first half is (well, of the chapters) is insanely fun but borderline pointless -- The second half isn't nearly as fun, but is surprisingly epic and artistic." Another thing I mentioned recently, because someone was finally going to play FF7R, I told them: "FF7 Remake is an objectively better game, but I actually found it easier to play FF15 for substantially longer periods of time uninterrupted." I've played through the game I think 4 times on my PS4, and I was looking to play through the Windows edition on my PC in the next year or two. I can only imagine how good it must look, and the music still kicks ass (big fan of the composer myself, having loved the music in Super Mario RPG, Parasite Eve & Legend of Mana)

FF15 is one of my favorite games! I noticed the similarity between Jack and Cor too 😉 I'd love to see more lore about the glaives, especially Nyx.

5 mins into the video and already a subscriber. FFXV needs more love and the Windows/Royal edition is the REAL experience of the game specially on PC where you have the modding community. currently I'm playing FFXVI but surely I will play FFXV for the 5th time after.

I played this game a bit ago like 2-3 years ago and I quite enjoyed it, happy someone is talking about it.

I feel like people didn’t like 15 because it wasn’t verses 13. It stings to see what we could of had, but you also gotta look at what we did. Yes, I’d like to see verses 13 really come out some day as verum rex or Reynatis, but you can’t ignore what we did get. It’s no verses 13, but it’s still Final Fantasy, and still a great game!

My personal experience may be tampered with by the fact that I was late to this game. I played the Royal Edition from the start. This was my favorite FF 🤷 Everything from the combat to the cooking had me reeled in. Everything just felt so polished.. Now I understand why though 😅 I definitely think FF15RE deserves to be in the same conversation as 7, 10, and 12.

After I finished FF VII Remake and Rebirth, a friend recommended XV to me. And I have to say that the 15 has grown on me even more than any other part I've played. I love open world, the battle system (I don't use the waitmode) and I don't even need to start with the Regalia (Type D). And the OST gave me chills. Especially “Apocalypse Noctis” When I think of FFVII's graphics, the wall jpg of Midgar is always the first thing that comes to mind. In the 15th, everything is "alive" up to the horizon and the day-night cycle also brings in dynamism. And I also particularly like the little things, such as Noctis getting dirty from fighting and fishing, or his hairstyle no longer being neat due to the rain. I also like the dynamic between the guys more. In the 7, I'm particularly bothered by the whining and pushy nature of Tifa's character. The story of 15 is a bit confusing, I don't want to contradict that, but since I know or have all the media around, I can figure out the connections. The story of 7 is largely known, but now the changes make the story more complicated for players who know the original. Since I've found Zack to be my favorite FFVII character since Crisis Core, I'm naturally very excited to see how he fits into the whole story. All in all, I'm really looking forward to the third part of the 7. But the 15 will probably remain number one for me for the time being.

If you are a lore hound, FFXV is one of the better entries. The King of Light and the Armiger lore is freakin outstanding.

Watching you talk about the magic system in this game with a straight face made the video worth it.

game is amazing and it's my all time favourite, but i like to think or talk with someone what it could be with a proper time for development, and if all the seperated content (demo's, books, movie, dlc's etc.) could be just executed in the game itself, in some moments the writing seemed off and i'm not talking about the train scene in CH9

What a shame that SE didn't make Aranea, Noctis and Lunafreya dlc and pushed all of it to novel. Just frustrating! This game has issues but she has the soul. And most interesting part of plot twists stayed only in text... I love this game and characters, lol, Noctis even sold me Tekken 7 because of his DLC presence. And this game is my door to jrpg games like Tales of series... I played FF15 from friday evening till middle of sunday without sleep because i was so captured by it. Ya'll might hate me for this but for me,FFXV is my FF 🐐.. I dont know why but I'm so in love with the characters,the gameplay, the stories,the anime,the movie etc Everything about this game is so good for me.. Definitely in my #10 game of all time..

This game deserves a revival. We deserved those last 3 DLC's. I also say this because of the continued popularity of this game. It has such a loyal fanbase too. I also think its capable of bringing them in money. All of the ideas Tabata had for this game was very interesting.

The first and last game to make me drop a tear. People said it's nothing compared to the emotions of the previous ones, and sincerely i am a bit scared to try them out now.

I've always wanted to play FFXV most because the combat looks cool and lots of VAs I recognize and like are in it. Unfortunately I have little to no space on my laptop, and Pocket Edition for Switch probably doesn't even have the DLCs in it.

I played all the FF's up to 10 and than picked up 15. It's tied for my favorite with FF6. I love the combat system.

I played the base game on the console with some packs bought (the ones about the characters mainly as I was more poor back then), before that I played some of the older Final Fantasy games, I was surprise how this game looked and liked watching funny videos about the game and the episodes they made I watched on youtube. The character packs made me like the character who weren't Noctis a lot more which helped before I got to the ending. Now, gonna revisit on PC now I got a good gaming rig. I haven't played the newer Final Fantasy after this one, but I liked the adventurous and upbeat - sometimes relaxing vibes, I did at some times get annoyed by Prompto - eventually as my experience grew I liked the characters and journey a whole lot. Also, got me more understanding why people seemed to like Chocobos. 😁

Finished this game recently cuz I intentionally did not play this on release cuz it was a very much unfinished game(don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of the game and the ideas behind it).. Imma just say I loved how they tried to fix the game but honestly the 4 DLCs should've already been in the base game and the only DLCs should be about Aranea, Cor or even 10yr time skip characters.. Honestly loved the idea for the game. Open world, free style combat, and a wide array of weapons to use but still feels of an unfinished game with miniscule changes and still cut content left untouched *cough* Altissia, Nifelheim and Tenebrae *cough* but still I don't regret playing this cuz knowing it will never be complete, I'm glad I still played this and is a must experience

5:00 Dude, it's not only that - I barely understood what Amiggiergierisdhgfser is until one of the last chapters, I used magic only twice (don't know how this stuff works), didn't skill anything related to the abilities of my mates and was confused why "summon" popped up in the fight against Ifrit (figuring out what to press to trigger it was the hardest part of the fight). Then I realized: There's even an "easy" mode available.

Imo FFXV has a lot of problems even now, especially with its storytelling. But I still love it. Noctis and his friends latched onto my heart and have never let go. My first experience with FFXV was unlike my experience with any other game, and I cried when my playthrough came to a close.

So much content was cut, and many parts of the story were in the film and anime, and much was added later as DLC that should have been part of the game. But I can’t understand your argument that FF15 can keep up with FF7. Because one is complete, and the other is not. FF15 is definitely one of the better FF games, but for me personally - and the word "personally" is important to me as I don't want to generalize - it was a disappointment for the various reasons mentioned above for me. Every time I hear Somnus, it pains me in my chest that I will never get Versus 13. It is the only FF in the series that I have not played a second time, and I have no intention of doing so. RIP FF15/Versus 13 2006-2016 live on in my memories."

Hyper late response: It's very easy to not understand or just not see some of your options, for example the free character swap function wasn't in the game until Episode Ignis released and it's really not advertised much, even in the Royal Edition. Also most of the tactical battle mechanics are explained once, usually very early on, and then never mentioned again. Positioning in general is so heavily understated by the game that it almost hurts. I think the game should have had a couple boss fights that rely on you positioning your team correctly to remove armor or troublesome weapons for example. As it is you rarely use the the blindside or teamup options unless you actively try to do so, which is just not necessary.

I know I'm just going into every FFXV video to repeat this. But I went one and done with FFXVI and never want to play it again. But I've replayed FFXV for the third time now, the previous two was not Royal Edition, this time round I got RE free from PS sub... And I can only say, I love this game so so so much more than FFXVI

This game is like a rough diamond, I love it but when it came out its was a VERY rocky launch (there was missing cutscenes so it was BAD). But man, even with its many flaws, its still a good game, great even (royal edition). Its such a unique and needed spin on the franchise, and it makes me sad that the last batch of dlc got canned for a novel. Its kinda like the assassins creed unity of the franchise in a way, or no man's sky. I played the royal edition not so long ago and man, this should've been the way it launched, people would be much more lenient with the game if it wasn't the state they released it in. I hope that one day this game can get some sort of "remake" or something like that (like nier replicant that added cut content)

This game is a fucking vibe. Gotta say, when i bought it back in 2016 i really didnt like the first 7 chapters. But after that something clicked, i can't really say what but i didnt stop playing it until i got 100%. Highly recommend it, specially now with royal edition.

best FF15 in my books...it has flaws but theres no game like this out there the enemy variety+ simple action oriented combat that's actually fun+ an open world worth exploring rather than bland and boring+ interesting characters obviously the pacing and story id admit are not good,but the first few hours and doing the side quests is the most fun ive had with a FF games...just trying to find all the enemy variety and secret bosses

Played this originally on Xbone when it first came out and been thinking about picking it back up for PC and playing all the new content for the first time. Idk if it was a glitch of some kind or what, but I somehow was able to download and play it for free from Xbox Live. I didn’t preorder or buy it or anything. The download was just available and it worked. I did pick up Type-0 just for the FFXV demo though so maybe that had something to do with it. Did this happen for anyone else?

I'm sorry If you knew the true story that was eventually leaked after the game was release by a Square Enix employee under Tabata and how amazing it was and they gave us this and sold the rest of the story years down the line in dlc. You would be throwing your controller down the hall. This story had the potential to be one of the best FF stories ever created. You can still look it up and find the script online. Shout out that employee because Tabata had to take the blame for that P***y Nomura because he ran to KH3 like he wasn't the project leader and left Tabata 3 month's to fix what he messed up. That was tragic and I don't blame Tabata for leaving. It was just really sad how the fans turned on him without even doing research to find out Nomura was the was prick behind it.

Response from reading title only: I did, and i still feel disappointed because so much lore was left out of the game for the movie and anime and mobile game, and whatever else i missed that wasn't in the actual game. Also, didn't dig the sausage party.

i love spamming the ff14 cross over mission till im max level early and have the busted weps from it lol no seriously its worth it also the OFFROAD CAR mode is amazing plus the game being played in wait mode now that u can swap characters makes playing the slower way like older games even more fun because you can do so much more then when it launched

Nyx, there's a porblem with your argument: if the game needs to evolve and change, does that mean that the previous final fantasies were devolved, outdated versions? Are JRPGs inherently inferior to the Hack and Slash action gameplay? I love DMC, but if it changes SO MUCH of the game, why even call it FF? Why not a brand new IP? Brand recognition. That's it. Anyway, I love DMC gameplay so this is good for me, but your counter arguments for these people is rather poorly thought out. Another point, you laugh at the ones saying the designs look too realistic and such, but visual presentation is vital for an identity, and YOU JUST defended the hair spray look for the boys band.

Honestly, no you shouldn't give it a chance. Because if you do then you're sending a message to devs that it's okay to release games in a poor state because they can fix it later. We shouldn't be accepting of that. Is it better now? Yes. Does that excuse all the bs SE pulled with it initially? Absolutely not. It's still not even as good as it should be because they canceled dlc for it, so it's basically still unfinished. If you like it, that's fine. But that part in the conclusion where you're talking about the criticism the game gets, you're being very dismissive and disingenuous. The main criticisms people have with FF15 are not "This doesn't look like FF", "It's just a generic action game now", etc. Some people say that, but those are not the main gripes people have. FF15 is a bad game because: - First and foremost, the story suffers because of all the multi-media. Comparing that to FF7's spin offs is disingenuous. You don't need to play FF7's spinoffs to enjoy or understand FF7. With FF15, there are VERY VERY important things that you don't get if you don't engage with the other media. Stuff like how Noctis met his group of friends. The events of Kingsglaive that led directly into the main game and sets up a VERY important plot point. And the absolute WORST of all, there being multiple massive plot holes that you have to buy/play dlc to fill in, where the vast majority of character development for Noctis's friends happens. That is objectively terrible. It's also anti-consumer af. And even though most of the dlc is now bundled, there's still the problem of figuring out when to play each episode for it to make sense. - The world is a ton of empty space, and the stuff that does exist in it is mostly these generic fetch/kill quests that feel straight out of the worst mmos. - The combat is a joke. The fundamentals of combat being "Hold this button to auto attack. Hold this other button to auto dodge." is objectively terrible. And you pretty much can't die as long as you keep enough healing items, because you basically get to heal/revive instantly even when you're essentially dead on the ground. There's a video of someone beating Adamantoise as soon as the quest for it was available, with whatever gear he had at the time, with no optimized build or anything fancy, by just doing the basic combat and spamming healing items. Also, magic being consumables that you have to farm materials for is also terrible. Summons being random things that happen only a handful of times in the entire game sucks. Like, I didn't finish FF15, and even if this video convinced me that I should go back and do that, I would have to go back and watch a movie, an anime, and buy extra dlc on top of the money I already paid for the game originally just to get this "finished and improved" experience. That's still awful. There really is not a good reason to come back to this game. If you're new to FF, you're better off waiting a few days from now and playing FF16, or if you don't have a PS5 just play FF7R. The only reason I can see to play this is just sheer morbid curiosity.

I just played through Pitioss on my new file. I wanted to experience all of the royal edition content in a single playthrough because I played at launch, and my life has been CUT IN HALF BY THE STRESS

I loved the game from its base form, maybe it’s my bias from Nomura ever since I was a kid playing Kingdom Hearts but I truly enjoyed it and while it’s not perfect I really did like it and with the Royal/Windows Edition I think it’s a good game now
