One of many advises my mother gave me is to never talk about my money, savings or salary. Even if it's not much to buy a meal, someone will be willing to kill you for it.

One of the many reasons why if you ever win the lottery, you should be as quiet as possible about it.

When I worked at a media company we had to make a videoclip for a Dutch singer. We needed a big Villa for it and found a guy willing to let us film at his place at certain locations. He lived in a neighborhood with many villa's. All big mansions with lots of ground and high walls/fences around their property. Our director got curious and asked the guy about break ins. He replied there were multiple break ins every month, came with owning a big house like that he said. Most people there had panic rooms for that specific reason. When asked if he wasn't afraid of it, he simply replied "Shouldn't live in a big house, with expensive cars on the drive way if you don't want people to know you have valuables they might like". He knew the risks and had preparations for it. Many of these shows offs online love to show what they got, but don't understand the risk of it nor have any security measures in place to minimize the threat.

I'm so broke that if someone would beat me up for money, he would end up giving me money instead 😅

Remember everyone: Banks do have too much power. Banks do shady things. However, banks are government backed and still are the safest place for money. As much as the thought of freeing yourself from them with a private vault or crypto wallet, all you do is make yourself the target without the security.

When I started seeing people I went to school with getting done for some of the worse crimes in society, I started being weary of what I post on social media, two years later I stopped using facebook, etc. altogether.

Millionaires I know are too busy to show their wealth, a TRUE moneyman NEVER shows his wealth, their world is dangerous enough, plus they keep security in their budget.

I knew someone who bought a fancy gucci wallet that was worth several paychecks for them, and all it served to do was make them a target for their non-existent money. When I was poor my wallet was an office binder clip I got for free. A decade later I make good money and that same office binder clip is still my wallet lol. I ain't keeping my money in something worth more than the wealth it contains.

If I was rich and flaunting it like that, I would be double-strapped at all fckin times.

Those who claim to have wealth have none. The fact that you would have no private security, security system, AND no firearm means that he was definitely what we call "dumb money".

Yet somehow these influencers did not take that advice in the social media space, as if that same philosophy does not apply to that same space as well.

the questions we should all be asking is: why do all those people post their lavish lifes on social media? what is the reason? for clicks? for more money? all they do is attract more attention to themselfes! .. people will get jealous and got hunt you down! stay low.. don't post your life on social media!

In an ideal world there wouldn't be people trying to steal your wealth - but in a perfect world, you probably wouldn't even have that wealth. Losing touch with reality plays a role here.

The amount of ads I get on RU-vid promising to make me as rich as the content creator is unbelievable. If I had the kind of cash that had the potential to attract the wrong attention, I'd definitely not be telling everyone about it. I've never understood why big lottery winners go public either - seems mental to me. I've heard of several stories of winners who've been relieved of either their cash or their ability to have anything like a peaceful life.

Growing up, I was always taught to never show strangers, and even friends and families sometime your money. But it seems like that teaching is now gone and it's the total opposite.

I have no pity for those people. I live by the simple rule: keep private life private. If they stick to this rule, nothing would happen to them.

Hello, Argentinian here tryin to share some knowledge and facts about the "Lechuga" case (Lechuga was the nickname that this Fernando Perez character used, A.K.A. "Sarna" by his enemies) This Lechuga dude basically had a deal with some of Argentina's greatest Hooligan fans (also known here as "Barra Bravas") mainly Boca Jrs's Barra bravas, wich in time, he also recieved threats from them, but it wasnt them that he found his demise, it was from an ex collague and friend from Lechuga that owed him money. Many people hated Lechuga including his ex partner Pilepich, Pilepich made a video on social media calling out Lechuga and trying to rendezvous all people who was conned by Lechuga, it seems that this call was answered, and Lechuga messed with very heavy people. After they found his body dismembered in a travel suitcase, the investigation started by capturing Pilepich, the mastermind of the crime started to drop false clues in order to make the police waste time and go nowhere, but when Investigations got Pilepich cellphone, they found out those cellphones were provided by the Ministry of Security from Buenos Aires City Government... Turns out Lechuga also pissed off a Police Commissar, name Cordoba, who was the one that set the list on how-to-do the murder without getting cought, as we already know, it wasnt enough, from the moment they found out where the cellphones came from, the investigation arrested both Cordoba and Pilepich.

I respect the people who are able to get this sort of vengeance against people who conned them. A lot of people make threats online but never actually go through with it. If people know you’re a man of your word, they’ll never dare mess with you.

As Argentinian we can say "Quien mal anda mal acaba" equivalent somehow to a "you get what you deserve" The guy was on dirty business, sourronded by bad people and fake friends, nobody end on a suitcase to be a good samaritan, generally speaking.

It's not just online. A kid was in a snooker hall and was boasting about money and Bitcoin. He got kidnapped and tortured. Oddly enough he actually had hardly anything too. You can't help people who can't help themselves.

I'm in Omaha Nebraska for the Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholders meeting. I've noticed more private security personnel than ever before. Hotels, Restaurants, and even in exhibition halls of the CHI Center they stand, sit, and walk with their client's. This is my 14th meeting and security has never been so tight. I guess it's just the signs of the times. We're staying at the Hilton and you are processed and credentialed before you have access to public areas.

just like in any game, add more wealth and there are those who will come to try to take it from you. A modicum of self resilience here would have gone a long way. A safe room, security, or i dunno... a security system even? I'm not condoning their flaunting of wealth but that's hardly new. All I'm saying an ounce of self preservation would have at least made these people think twice

1 of my friend's dad owned a bank, but, he lived like he didn't had any money to throw away, but he was rich! He gave me some money from time to time because i did stuff for him like mowing the lawn, he payed good, but i didn't know until way later that this man had such a good paying job! He wore jeans with nikes, a sweater and that's it! He had a motorcycle, nothing fancy offcourse! Nobody suspected him to have money, and that's how you should live your life! If you are rich, don't flex! What are they trying to achieve by flexing? To get robbed is the only answer i can think off!

Important video to everyone who flexes on social media. I don’t think it has to be wealth you’re‘advertising’ it might be enough for someone who knows where you live and who needs money to arm themselves and seek you out.

Don't have social media. Don't discuss my financial life with anyone, including family. Basically, I don't tell anything to anyone and I have a peaceful life because of it.

My mom was the one in my family to teach me not to mention how much money I possess, and to always withdraw money quickly and discretely, watching my back whenever handling money in public. As with girls walking alone at night dressed ‘provocatively’, a rich guy bragging about how rich he is to strangers who know where he lives is what I’d call ‘someone asking for it’, for lack of a better definition. It sounds cruel but it’s the truth, that you just can’t trust strangers and world a free of rape and murder is impossible so it is your responsibility to keep yourself out of trouble.

I think there is an aggravating factor in that he was flaunting _stolen_ money that was not his. Even if it was legit wealth I wouldn't flaunt it like that.

Kira hates the world "influencer". Imagine how bad he felt having to say "finfluencer". I also remember that last case. We saw it on the news. In fact there were 2 cases not far from each other. I don't remember if Fernando's was first or last. The other case was also someone connected to "finances" and was burnt on their car. Something like that. I did not know Fernando was a boaster influencer online, I just heard he owed money and was killed mafia style (I don't pay much attention to news in general). But it's kinda crazy.

Tbf it wasn't wise of the investors either to lend money to loud, attention seeking, materialistic influencers. Politicians make shady side money too. Seems like the golden geese they take a liking to are more competent and have less of a public profile.

Things you should never talk about online. Money, Boeing, Hilary Clinton. We all know where it leads.

The real rich peeps have a personal security team.
