A lot of people in the comment section are asking about the possibility of pursuing a PhD after postgraduate work permit, and yes, you can switch from PWP to tier 4 again, but the postgraduate work permit is granted only once so you won’t be able to apply again for postgraduate work permit again once you are done which means you spent 6 years of your life in the UK working hard and investing large sums of money to be kicked out of the country. The UK doesn’t offer easy pathways to immigration so I advise students as they are on postgraduate work permit to look for other countries such as Canada, Australia or Germany to immigrate to. Since as for Canada and Australia, they offer pathways to immigration and Germany has free PhD programs. You are going to get old in the UK and never get that passport while in countries like Canada or Germany it can take from 3 to 5 years. Don’t waste your time and youth guys! Once you get your Canadian passport you can visit the UK for 180 days visa free and the US visa free!

@@silvao1567 yep! They drain all of your youth and money! The UK system of immigration is built to demotivate immigrants but also to drain their money. Why would we always pay 705 something for NHS during our visa application? And then get rejected! They are clearly stealing

Hello Daniel....the PSW visit does count towards settlement on the tier4route. Ordinarily its really hard to be on tier4 Visa for 10yrs....even if you hv 2 masters degree In 3yrs ( max)

Those who have spent a continuous period of 10 years in the UK under different visas are eligible to apply for ILR under the 'Long residence' route. Time under visas which do not lead to settlement under the standard 5 year route (such as Student/ Tier 4, Tier 1 Post Study etc.) can be counted towards 10 year ILR.

Nice video bro. Very informative. I would like ur opinion on another matter. After the first masters , can an international student in uk apply for another masters immediately he is done with 1? and also , as an international student in uk, can you easily migrate to another country like Canada, Australia or Us when you are done with ur study in uk through study route again ?

Daniel is not as easy as you think to get a company to sponsor you on a visa, that’s why going through post study is easier route for 90% of immigrants. For you to be able to apply for job as an immigrant, most companies require you to have your existing work visa. You need to understand that before any uk company can sponsor you, they must have ascertained that no British citizen can fill that particular role you’re applying for. This is a legal requirement. I’m not disputing the fact that fresh immigrants graduate could be sponsored, however the chance is slim. By the way, I came to the uk in 2010 as a student, tried applying for sponsorship from companies, all you get back is ‘I’m afraid’. I then applied for post study, got an IT graduate job. I had the option of getting sponsor at that time but my wife is a British citizen so went through that route. All you can do is just try but don’t despise post study, it could be your stepping stone.

@@DanielJesuloba Couldn't agree less. There is so much to getting a job especially the one with a sponsorship than than you think. You will need at least 6 months right to work, 2 references, DBS, 2/5 year work history etc. I guess the best bet is the graduate visa.

Hi Daniel Lovely video but sadly I need to draw Ur attention to some errors. For Ur 10 yrs continuous legal stay in the Uk. The post study visa counts but doesn't count towards settlement which is tier 2. For Instance b4 the completion of my PSW and I get a tier 2 job. I will have to start my 5yrs settlement from the beginning. This is the main reason PSW is given just once Further more a child who stays for 7yrs would be given citizenship based on the discretion of the home office and lastly for those born here it's automatic after 7yrs in which one of the parents would benefit immediately. In other words the best and comfortable route is to switch to a tier 2 visa esp health and care visa. Some other companies usually withdraw their sponsorship after 3yrs. I have seen alot.

You need to extend your visa to continue to study. The Graduate route does not give you the opportunity to remain a student while you are on it. That is why you can only be eligible for a Graduate visa "if" you have completed your study.

You and your spouse can apply for the post study without the kids. There is no that says your dependent must apply with you. Is just to reduce the visa cost for that 2 years before you make your next move.

If you will ordinarily need a study visa for the conversion course, then it is flaunting the Graduate route rule if you take the program while you hold the graduate visa. "Studying with a Graduate visa You can only study with a Graduate visa if your chosen course is not eligible for a Student visa. If your course is eligible for a Student visa, you can extend your Student visa instead".

Why won't they apply for visa?? That means they will be living illegally in the country. Once you apply for them from the scratch. Every visa application must involve them except you want to send them back to their home-country...

Except the kids are born in the UK but not granted citizenship yet, then you can leave their own dependants application to avoid cost. If not, they will be living illegally in the UK. BUT POINT TO NOTE: If you have intention of travelling out of the UK with your kids born in the UK but not granted citizenship, you need return UK visas for them. Very important!

There is really no rush in switching to your partner’s visa. You can join your partner’s Tier 2 visa as a dependent towards the end of your studies

No. Only postgraduate students are entitled to PSW. 2 years PSW for masters graduate and 3years PSW for PHD graduates

Hi. You can switch to tier 2 as a dependent while your spouse is still in school but the student can’t while still in school but if the student gets a job before his or her visa expires the person can switch to tier 2.

I think it depends on so many factors which financial capability is first….. The pros and cons with the choices is relevant in my opinion

That was what most people did in the past year before the current scheme. 70% of international students around me went back home because they couldn't get qualified jobs while 5% moved on into PhD program and remaining 5% got married to British and EU citizens while only about 10% actually got sponsored. I am really scared for international students that have moved their families here . May mercy speak for everyone.

If your spouse gets a Job with tier 2 visa sponsorship, no you don’t have to apply for post study You can switch to his Tier 2 visa as dependent upon completion of your studies

Good morning bro, thank you for all you share on your RU-vid community. I would like to confirm the right bank statement to use for my student visa application. I submitted my online application on the 24th of May and I opted for assisted service for submitting my documents and biometric on the 9th of June. Will I print bank statement from the day of my online application backwards to 28days or from the biometric date and document submission backwards to 28days. I am kinda confused, please assist. You can Print the statement either way, so far the closing date on statement is not more than 30days before your online application I will personally advice you print the statement a day before your online application

What matters here and very important is that you must have held your balance (maintenance, schools fee balance, hostel fee- if you stay in one)for at least 28 days before 24th of May which is the date of your application.

The Graduate route is a one time opportunity as stated by Daniel. If you get it ones, that is it. You can not get it 2ce as main applicant.

Nice one master D... Now here comes my question... For instance, you do a two year masters degree program and then later apply for the two year PSW visa. At the end of everything, you would've stayed in the UK for four years and this wouldn't be enough for an ILR because your tier 4 stay is just two years. Now lets assume that before your PSW visa expires, you apply and you start up a Phd program (which is 3 years), will one be entitled to get an ILR after the phd program is completed since you have now stayed in the UK on a total of 5 years tier 4 visa (ie 2 years masters and 3 years phd)?? Would one be granted this ILR since it's not 5 years straight up stay on tier 4 visa? I mean by now using the case scenario, the person would've stayed a total of 7 years ( 2 years tier 4 masters, 2 years PSW, then 3 years tier 4 phd). Will this break (with a 2 years PSW) in between the 2 years master tier 4 and the other 3 years phd tier 4 deny one the ILR?

Bro. You have to study for 10 years in the u.k to be eligible for ILR...or work 5years on tier 2 visa to be eligible too. So 5 years of study doesn't count.

The answer to your question is no. Now this is where I think Dan missed it - after that you'd cumulative 7 years if you can stay legally in the UK for another 3 years - maybe via sponsorship - you're qualified to apply for ILR having then completed 10yrs living legally in the UK.

Another way to get the three years legal stay is if he has a child that would have stayed 7 years in the UK by that time then the 7 years rule can apply for the child and on private life the family can stay.....my own thought though. Also I learnt there is a proposal for the 7 years rule to be reduced to 5 years for the child born and lived continuously in the UK or the child brought into the UK but that has lived in the UK continuously for 5 years (ILR is being proposed).
