10/10 april fools prank, it actually seemed real at the start

it seemed real at first. then u showed me the weird messages like “You cant delete this file, get a bin!” then i realized

"YOU DO NOT DELETE RECYCLE BIN!!!!" "RECYCLE BIN DELETES YOU!!!!"

This is a great metaphor for real life. If you get rid of the recycle bins, people will start littering everywhere, and it eventually becomes so littered that a ton of recycle bins need to be installed to accommodate it, leaving you with way more recycle bins than you would've had if you just kept them in the first place.

You can actually delete the Recycle Bin on the latest version of Windows. 1 - Open Settings. 2 - Go to Personalization > Themes > Desktop icon settings. 3 - Uncheck the Recycle Bin. 4 - Select “Apply”. But good April fools! Took me a while to realize 😅

1) you can easily hide the bin from desktop via tweaker or registry edit 2) you can disable binning files in explorer through recycle bin properties - DEL will permanently delete files then 3) you can delete recycle bin folder. It will be recreated, unless you place a file with same name. In that case attempts to bin files will fail and Windows typically suggests deleting them permanently instead. This is particularly useful on flash drives that have limited size - you may accidentally delete a large file which will still take space in the bin. This may lead to errors in some programs but combined with option 2 is not that problematic.
