I remember when i was 26 just got the 2004 yamaha R1(raven black) and was riding at around 290 km/h here in southafrica on the N3 highway near durban and got whacked on my helmet by a bird!,nearly lost control but saved it.Still have the bike till today.The best model year ever made in my opinion,just brutal raw power with no fancy electronics and traction control like the later models.I still ride it not as often like when i was younger and not as fast anymore as the roads are not as smooth as they used to be,but love it.Thats a nice bike you have there as well mate,ride safe,R1 for life ✌
260 kmph on a state Highway. My friend got his head severed from his body. He was doing similar speeds. His wife is a widow now, kids will grow up without a father. Life is precious. Ride safe. Don't die please.

Dude, DV knows it's because of the crossplane crankshaft, but the reason for his words is, the firing order that the crossplane crankshaft makes in this engine, he mentioned the reason frm firing order perspective.. But he didn't mean like crankshaft is comedy here. He did mentioned 1234 etc things, if you here again you will get an idea why he told like that.
This firing order is because of the Crossplane Crankshaft only. R1 is profound for its uneven firing which is only because of the Crossplane Crank. So The Crossplane Crank affects a lot in R1's Sound.
I have 2016 60th Anniversary Edition R1 which looks gorgeous. I ride my bike in Southern California Canyons..this bike is a mean machine with good electronics. I love doing wheelie on this machine. Drive Safe and enjoy your rides dude.

Hey DV, great video. You stated in your video that the R1 is best for people of 5'7 height. Would it be dangerous for someone of this height to ride this since their feet barely reach the ground?
Pick-up speed of Yamaha R1 and R1M is excellent however don't know if H2 is of the same level though H2 has got enormous torque and immense push levels in drag racing or highway ridings.
Our Indian roads are not designed for such bikes. It is really dangerous to ride at such high speeds even though the rider is extremely careful and our people don't follow lane discipline at all, one wrong judgement and life will be flown away at that speed. Please be careful guys🙏
