Great Video. You showed many examples, without talking too much. Other guitar Videos on Utube are boring, They all talk too damn much before Playing. I like your Videos more. You start the Playing, without all the boring talk. Love your powerful cutaway Deep sounding flamenco Negra guitar.

Fantastic. Just purchased a hybrid classical guitar with cutaway and try and get back into this style of music. Heard my first real flamenco guitar in the 70s I'm walking to a music store in Hollywood and there was a young guy sitting on a bar stool playing the most incredible music I've ever heard in my life! I found out later he was considered by far the best Flamenco player on the West Coast. Gino d' Auri. He studied at the Rome Conservatory music and they've been playing since the age of eight. Fantastic player. I wanted to learn Flamenco ever since then. Thanks for the lesson!

Awesome video. Brought back some memories reminding me why I wanted play guitar age 14. Recently picked up the vibe again thanks to these videos. I used to have d'Addario's black nylons, on my old guitar.

I've got the same guitar but not the cut-away. That E-flat 9 chord sounds amazing on this guitar!

I have had a TP 30 (cedar)for 7 or 8 years and love it. I previously had a Lapatrie (Godin), which was a very nice budget guitar - but this is sooo much nicer. Every once in a while I try out some nylon guitars at my local music shop, and always come away happy that I got the Pavan. Imho its the best non-custom luthier made classical you can get on the market. I highly reccomend it to anyone! A question for Mr. Prisloe: Can you still get a cutaway on the Flamenca Negra like Scot has? If so - for how much?

Do you think the flamenca negra is a better all-rounder than tp30? Or is it the other way around

To my ears the darker wood sounds classical , for the base notes , rings too long

To me it totally lacks the brightness of flamenco. It’s like the typical case when one uses a classical guitar to play flamenco.

Our Flamenca Negra is 100% a Flamenco guitar, period. It has a thinner top, more lightly braced with thinner braces, no bridge pad on the interior of the soundboard, no chevron braces, the bridge is thinner and lower, and the neck angle is different than a classical. Flamenco Blanca's with cypress back and sides are beautiful guitars but are limited in tonal variation. The rosewood Flamenca Negra gives more tonal variation, and for this reason are very popular. I've personally seen Paco de Lucia two times, both performances were on Flamenca Negra guitars. Scott Taber, professional guitarist and excellent musician has been playing a Pavan Flamenca Negra for 17 years, his go to guitar.
