Amber is like having all the advantages of MTG Simic colors in one color. Card advantage attached to decent bodied. All 4 of the first cards you highlighted create card advantage while having good bodies. It’s kind of crazy.
But.... villains. .-. Yeah, Amber has EXACTLY 4 of them.... but holy crap are the THE villains to have. The king of recursion himself, 4-cost Hades, King of Olympus is the biggest villains payoff with a huge health pool for staying power, then the 2 versions of The Queen that allow for any some timer to instantly become a full on mobster staring down your opponent's board.
Do you still think Rapunzel Gifted with Healing is an auto include for most amber decks? That’s the one thing turning me off from amber entirely is I have zero of her and don’t want to spend $160 on a play set… and I feel like not having it makes your amber deck objectively worse.
I don’t think Rapunzel Gifted with Healing is an auto include in EVERY amber deck, but any deck that is leaning into midrange/control is likely better with her. There are some aggro builds out there that don’t really need her though. Rapunzel is still more expensive than I’d like to see so I understand people not wanting to buy her. The good thing is before TFC there wasn’t really a replacement card for her. Nothing filled her role well. Now at least we have Gifted Artist that does. She works differently of course, but she still provides value by drawing cards when something is healed. And she will be really easy to find as an uncommon. So if you can’t get Gifted with Healing, I’d see if there are ways Gifted Artist can fill that role instead
@@bsquared24 thanks for the detailed reply! I always appreciate how receptive and responsive you are with the Lorcana community. We did pull a few of Rapunzel Gifted Artist and I think more importantly some of the new 1 cost Cinderella. So I guess I’m trying Amber! Any specific healing card or ink pairing recommendations? Sapphire seems strong due to the healing cards from set 2.
Just to add on as an example, I run Amber Amythest Villains. And outside of Hades: King of Olympus or possibly Madam Mim: Rival of Merlin, I don't have anyone in my deck that has more than 3 health. Repunzel is only in the deck as a 3 of because I haven't sold myself entirely on running the 7 drop Dr Facilier as my value piece yet.
