@@clkgtr12 thats kinda the point my guy of why they are successful (along with lore, atmosphere, music, gameplay). It's difficult but not unfair... and also alot more consumer friendly than other companies that people seem to forget. You're getting your money's worth everytime, including dlcs.
When I first played bloodborne I quit without being able to get through the first area. I came back 2 weeks later and powered through. It became the first game I ever platinumed (now I have 130ish platinum trophies, including every from soft title). Bloodborne is still up there as one of my favorite games of all time years later. I still come back and play it creating new characters every few months. I still have my og character too. I love this game.
Yeah because Laurence is that one single boss that defies any rule the game has. Fromsoft has had a tendency to make them, the same thing happens with Demon of Hatred and Malenia. They just break the rules of their respective games.
I feel you on that bro. Xbox/diapers for me. Finally got the Xbox back tho! And now a PS5 also!! Finally getting to live out all the gaming id dreamed of for so long. Level 85 confessor on elden ring but I'm interested in bloodborne and dark souls because I'm finding out apparently they connect to elden ring story wise
@@ilay3379 It's not yet, but emulators are making steady progress. I wouldn't even be surprised if emulators had Bloodborne playable before Sony ports it lmao.
@@automaticninjaassaultcat3703 Exactly, elden ring basically has a difficulty slider (which real souls games are known to not have) so therefore any skill-less casual can play/beat it which is why you hear all these people saying it’s the best, what they should really be saying is it’s the only one that they’re actually able to beat
@@confidential5253 Oh that’s exactly why it’s popular, half of the people that have played it have never played another souls game, and it’s MUCH easier than all the rest so anyone who has know about souls games and never been able to play them now have a game that they can play, sure that is technically a positive thing but to me that’s actually a negative thing. Souls games to me are just inherently challenging games, they’re punishing and aggravating and require a lot of determination and perseverance to beat, not just anyone can beat them and by beating them you have proven yourself to be of a certain caliber, well with ER in the mix now you truly don’t have to have that determination or perseverance, you truly don’t need to be of that caliber, so now these skill-less kids think they’re tough shit cuz they can “beat a souls game”. That is why I believe it’s so popular
@@confidential5253 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻 How are you gonna call me an inexperienced player😂😂 I’ve platinumed nearly every souls game and I’m saying the game you’re claiming is difficult is truly not difficult, so who’s truly the inexperienced one here?😂 I’ve solo’d the entirety of ER and it is by far the easiest, cry about it
i beat this game 8th grade to freshman year and now i just graduated highschool. kinda crazy, took me forever to beat. one of my favorite fromsoft games ever.
The only thing I’ve found playing bloodborn after my soul-like and soul game marathon that I don’t like, is the 30 fps. I bought every other game on PC, so adjusting to half the frames was the thing that made the game very hard. 6 hours in tho, absolutely loving it, Sekiro #1 for now, then DS3, then bloodborne, but I’m not done the game yet I’m heavily expecting it to go up.
I’d never played it before this year (got my first PS ever last year, a PS4) and it’s been so much fun. I love a game that forces you to improve quickly. About to start the DLC before the endgame bosses!
Started my first ever playthrough last night, at first the 30fps was really hurting my enjoyment but something about the style just overpowers that. Im gonna 100% the game now
One thing to note is that you can essentially play with five weapons. Two trick weapons + ranged means if you choose the right weapons you can handle almost every situation
I can't think of a better, more fluid, more satisfying combat system than Bloodborne's. (Sekiro comes close.) It holds up over hundreds of hours; I never get tired of it. And the multiplayer components are some of the best I've played - PvP and co-op are both absolutely perfect. It's a hell of a game, and will still hold up 30 years from now.
im on my second play through after not being able to get past the first boss when this game initially dropped lol. it's def a masterpiece and super fun.. but def challenging..
@@issi529 wow what an amazing counter-point! If only I had thought of your ass sooner, I’d have agreed that rally, quick dodge, gun parries, and weapon combinations were in fact not better than your ass. Thank you for your insight.
@@issi529 I’m not taking it personally, and I’ve played the whole series. BB has the best feeling combat. I just find it odd that you don’t understand what an opinion is, and decided to just write some dross instead of maybe make an argument for why another game is better.
@@rashiro ok. I didn't mean it that much. Imao Sekiro's combat is much much better than any other soul game. It feels satisfying and cool at the same time. In bloodborne it feels pretty sloppy and clumsy at some points. But each his own.
@@ladistar well I couldn’t really get into Sekiro, between the aesthetic and the skill ceiling it’s been tough. But I keep trying, I’m sure I’ll catch the bug soon. As for Elden Ring, definitely a masterpiece. Felt like it took the speed from Bloodborne, but not the supporting mechanics, like being rewarded for aggression with the rally system. Spectacular game though.
yeah I started this game at the end of 2022 and I finished it not long ago and I have to admit that I love this game and I will definitely buy some souls again because it was my first Fromsoftware game
Bloodborne is the only fromsoft game I liked. Sekiro was way too hard to the point it became unenjoyable and felt like a chore to play. The open world in elden ring doesn't make sense for fromsoft game and the combat is lackluster.
Perfect short! This game Is one of the great and will NEVER age. Another point people don't bring up a lot is that it's rpg mechanic works very well, the progression system and just "feeling" of getting more powerful is so fun!
I'm assuming my dad bought it in 2015 and quit immediately because he hates souls games so it's just been sitting somewhere for nearly a decade til I got my hands on it a few weeks ago and gave it the love it deserved. Def my #1.
After hearing how hard Dark Souls games are and when it was 2015 and i was mostly playing PS4, I watched IGN review and midway through 2015 i finally bought and played Bloodborne. I mostly played games like Call of Duty, Batman Arkham, Uncharted 3, Dead Island... and never played anything like Bloodborne and it became my favorite game of all time 😅 Until I then played Dark Souls 3 next... which then got dethroned by Elden Ring 😮 Love Bloodborne music 🎶 a lot and the scary atmosphere in here that you don't get in DS3 and Elden Ring
Had it when it came out and one of the things I sold when I had to move, just came across a pre owned one last week for 29! Had to get it Awesome game!
Made me glad that I bought a console over PC a few years ago. This is STILL my comfort game. The ambiance, aggressive play style, dodge, and trick combos are just perfect.
I got Bloodborne for free with ps5 monthly games. It looks really nice & I will definitely be playing until completion. I love the whole gothic aspect I think it’s such a cool touch.
Honestly I just recently picked it back up. I’ve beaten it before and loved every second so while we’re all waiting on Elden ring dlc might as well go for a new character in Bloodborne to pass the time
After giving up on Bloodborne after getting throwen into the gaol at the start of the game after the blood starved beast and having no idea where I was, I came back to give it another go a year later. I have now made it up to the orphan of kos and it's taking the spot for favorite game over Elden Ring. So glad I gave it another go.
Hey bro just saying you might want to put spoiler warnings on your videos if your showing gameplay clips and especially boss clips so no one has a boss ruined
Bloodborne has been my favorite game since its release. I loved ds3 but bloodbornes combat just felt smoother- I loved the quickstep. Now currently Elden ring is giving bloodborne a run for its money (I got Elden ring like a year late cus I wanted to wait till I got a ps5). But still bloodborne remains king for me… for now
It's the only game I'd buy a whole other console for. Heck, if I didn't have a Gaming PC and they surprise released it on PC tomorrow, I'd be a few thousand dollars in debt cause I would've just brought my credit card straight down to my local PC shop and bought a High End PC to play it
you dont need to buy a console, take the psn+ trial for free and you can play it over cloud on pc, without having a playstation, its like xbox gamepass on pc but the cloud gaming is really good, im on my ng+ allready, no lags, nothing + you get a ton other games like spider man, god of war etc.
For sure you need a Controller because the Game got designed for an Controller and nothing else. You can map your buttons to the keyboard there are tutorials on youtube for it @commanderpp
I've played all Soulsborne games. No boss has caused me so much trouble as did Laurence. Albeit I did end up starting The Old Hunters in NG+3, so that could explain why...Anyway, the narrow space, his massive reach, fire-explosions, wide hitbox range, onehit kill sweeps...I can go on. The guy was CRUSHING. And I played Bloodborne after all DS games, never using summons and 100% all games. This dude...a fucking tank! 2000hp hits on him felt like nothing more than a small dent to his massive HP...I guess in the end it was an epic finish to the game, but this dude belongs to Dark Souls where you can use a shield.
It really looks like a great game, especially for me who likes soulslikes and Lovecraft, I love elden ring, dark souls and sekiro, and Lovecraft's touch seems to improve everything even more. The only problem is not having a PS4
i have played over 400 hours but still continue to hop on & help people who reach out via discord. just helped a homie with amygdala lol. bloodborne will always have a place in my heart yo
I have much respect for you I wouldn’t have got through the chalice dungeons without some people like you that’s exactly why I play these games the community is amazing nothing but love
I was late to the souls game first one I completed was demon souls remake I just can’t seem to play a game at 30fps once Bloodbourne gets the patch I’m all over it
I just started my first playthrough the other day, and so far i have breezed through most of the game no problem. Its my second souls game (first being elden ring) and i have beat moat bosses i have encountered on the first try. Cleric beast, bloodstarved beast, darkbeast paarl, vicar amelia, witches of hemwick, shadow of yarhnam, and master logarious all got beat first try, so far the only two bosses that i didnt get first try have been father gasgoine (2nd try) and rom the spider (3rd try) I dont know if i picked up on too many good habits from elden ring or what but this game has been stupid easy for me so far
Just restarted the game yesterday because when it was released I wasn't able to really soak up the story and gameplay. BUT I am now entering it with more experience from multiple Souls series games including Sekiro which definitely lends a hand.
Its so hard to trigger some quest lines, I suggest you read about some characters before you proceed or kill someone unintentionally. Some quest lines are impossible to trigger once you proceed during the nightmare night. Same as with every other ds.
I have started to give a chance to this fromsoftware games and the first one I have started with is Bloodborne and im having a pretty good time playing it right now
Bloodbourne is the only souls game I haven’t played. This month that changed, what a beautiful game. The combat, design, lore and the world. Absolute banger!!! The hype is real I promise 🎉🎉🎉
On my first Bloodborne play through still and I don’t see why everyone thinks it’s so great. All your points in this video are valid but I don’t get the same feelings I do from a Dark Souls game.
I never really played Souls games in the past. I tried and failed at Demons Souls on my PS3. Later tried Bloodborne and realized I leveled myself into a box, quitting half way. Fast forward to today and gave Lies of P a chance. I actually finished it. So now I'm giving Bloodborne another try. It's like seeing the game through different eyes. It's more familiar. I understand the Stats better. The only trouble I'm having is not being able to have a default blocking system.
So I’ve always liked souls like games for the aesthetic and story telling. Sayin that, I only watched countless RU-vid vids. I’ve never actually bothered to play any bc of witnessing how challenging they were. I was like “yup, fuck that, I’ll just watch for entertainment.” Buttt, I got Bloodborne some months ago and finally had the nuts to take it on some days ago. It’s rough out here 🤕 ngl I summoned a hunter to gank the cleric beast, i cheesed old man hunter with the gravestone strat, ganked the white wolf chick with another hunter summon, ganked darkbeast paarl with ANOTHER old hunter summon, and I utilized the environment for blood starved beast by running around the big rectangular thing at the end of the boss room and charging up heavy’s to hit every chance I got 😂 I suck at this game and I cheese shit whenever I find ways to, but all in all, I still pride myself and it’s fun as hell. I just got to the nightmare realm. I’ve been using my trusty hunter axe for like 95% of my playthrough thus far 😂 like I said, I suck and I’m a pussy. Sooo, it’s the constant charged attacks for me. I like “distance and reach”. Not “up close and personal” lol
As a new person to these souls games, I highly recommend bloodborne, it is hard at start because you see big guys and lots of small guys but don’t know what to do or were to go, so the start is a bit rough, but after puli learn the game a bit and know we’re to go it’s amazing
Tbh I tried it for the very first time yesterday and while I did appreciate the game in all of its unique greatness, I did not appreciate the performance cap. Like others have said, FromSoft really needs to remaster this game or make a sequel.
Playing it rn and the only boss I had issues with was the Cleric Beast cause I didnt know how to play much yet but even Father Gascoin or idk how you spell his name was easy though his 2nd phase was annyoing
My son started to show interest in it and watching him play got me picking it back up and continuing my new game + and I got the dlc to explore for the first time.
It is really funny because you could leave notes in when you encounter somebody else’s notes or you see another person playing the game. The notes are like poetry and that you’re so funny.
