I like how you don’t need to sprint very much to get huge benefits quickly. It’s an extremely time efficient workout. In 30 minutes you can be cooked and sweating bullets. It’s just all about discipline

Interesting about the comparison between sprinting and plyometrics. I've watched a lot of videos lately that promote plyometrics as a way to get faster, but it seems like sprinting is a way to get better at plyometrics (should plyometrics ever be an Olympic event😏). Nice video. Thx.

Hey thanks for the comment. Yeah I think you could even make an argument for claiming that sprinting constitutes as plyometrics as well due to the "shock" of each step. As Verkoshansky defined plyos as "shock upon landing."

@@willratelle8027 Well, I've recently gotten back into hill sprints and it was definitely a shock.😻

I remember when I sprinted, I got down to 7% body fat, increased muscle mass & strength. Only downside was that I was always hungry.

very concise and informative thanks. when you say 'sprinting 30 seconds for 4-6 reps' does that mean 4-6 30 second sprints? or 4-6 short sprints in under 30 seconds. thanks!
@willratelle8027
@willratelle8027 4 года назад
Thanks Harry, In the context of bike sprints I was referring to 4-6 reps of sprints all at or about 30 seconds. Although it isn't possible to truly sprint and maintain maximum velocity for this long, it may be another option for people to get people "sprinting" when short sprints (10-20 yard) isn't intriguing to people.

I always wanted to start but programming it in for me is difficult. How do you program sprints into your workout with recovery in mind?

you mentioned doing it only a couple times a week and I’m wondering if there are any drawbacks to doing sprints sets daily? Thanks
@willratelle8027
@willratelle8027 3 года назад
As long as dosing is appropriate, you probably could sprint daily. Dosing would have to consider distance, load, reps, % of max velocity etc. It is probably difficult to do this daily but theoretically could be done.
