You made me start with photography Teo. Since then, I go out shooting every day and Im really thankfull for that!!! Love the content here and on patreon. Keep up the awsome work : )
everyday brother!?... i need some motivation to Kickstart my photography brother... once a time i also go out and take so many photo.... but now i become a lazy person...and can't get any motivation to go out... can u help
Honestly the box alone is enough for me to want it 😅 The photo at 3:31 is so good I’m jealous, one of my favorite shots of yours in recent memory. The paraglider was clearly a paid actor
I thought it was odd he didn't say anything about it, as I thought it was one of the more serendipitous shots! Looking back at it, I like the way the image is stacked full of details at the bottom, but because the glider is a yellow smear of color in a flat blue expanse, the eye is still drawn up to him, past the naked, scratchy branches, across the rooftops, above the the mountain to the single sailing figure far in the distance.
Filmneverdie or FND was founded back in 2011, and they produced not only SORA, also various colour film from 100 to 800 speed. Currently based in Melbourne and Malaysia. If there's a chance I would suggest to try out their IRO 400, if it's available.
Wow these shots are beautiful! The one with the couple watching the paraglider is my favorite, just the perfect little moment captured by you for us to share with them :)
Catching up on all your vidoes I missed the past few months mate, excellent stuff! That train ride back oh my god... beautiful. Even inside of the train itself, I saw a few scenes and colors I would have loved to shoot too - inside of trains and what goes on is one of my favorites.
Thanks Reimann! Yeah, the halations weren't too bad most of the time. Sometimes they can get too strong for my taste such as when the entire house goes reddish, but most of the time I think the film did really well :)
Teo i love your videos , especially because i grew up in innsbruck and surroundings , but also i see my homebase in a very nice view, like i also walked like this thru there in love with color , blue and white and a shimmer of gold
Where do you get all this motivation to create this much? It’s crazy how much quality work you can do ( touching the wood). I’d be very happy to see a video of you talking about your love for the work you do etc. ❤🌻
Completely agree on the halation. There are times when I absolutely love it and times where it's just a bit too much. Always grateful that we have access to lesser known film stocks like Sora 200. Would love to try it on my channel!
Great video, a lot of inspiration. Fulpmes is a cute little village. Having the possibility to see it through an artistic eye makes it seem like a totally different place. It's really cool being able to watch some Austrian content here :D
Whenever I shoot color, it's on Kodak's Vision 3. To my amazement, my local lab both stocks and develops it at a comparable if not cheaper price to C41. The colors are very reminiscent of my results - the airiness, those slightly washed out dream-like colours... Mine still has the RemJet layer, though - so no halations. I love how they show up so prominently in your photos - I think the snow both gets them to appear and makes for a setting that matches the stock's *vibe* perfectly! Great video, I'll binge watch your stuff in the near future. I have to say that cyberpunk film piqued my interest, too!
Just got to the first image, This looks like its Kodak Vision 3 250D. The greens/aquas plus red halations, I would guess this is 250D dev'd in C4. Ah, yes you've come to the same conclusion.
Hello! Your videos are awesome. I’ve watched a lot of ‘em. I’m really envious of where you live!! Haha I wish I could live somewhere where the mountains are easily accessible ❤ Do you remember which film store you visited exactly? :)
I asked you for that stock in one of your previous videos and so happy you make this video . This place is so beautiful and love the pictures. The film stock is pretty good and I guess you bought it from Champ camera japan cuz I saw that shop in instagram , it likes the paradise.
I’ve been meaning to try this stock ever since I’ve seen it in my local lab but wondered if it’s legit 😅 Turns out after your video I discovered that the lab was made by some guys from Film Never Die, so that’s why they sell them! That and the fact that your pics in this video were really pleasing to me, I’ll definitely buy some next time
Funny - it’s the exact opposite for me :) On artificial lights, I don’t mind the artificial glow. Also, it’s usually only around a few details that catch your attention anyway. With these photos, I found the halation a little overpowering and distracting.
@@rickbiessman6084 no way that’s hilarious bc I find that the bright red glow in the middle of the muted nighttime tones to be distracting. In the daylight it just makes me feel like it’s a warm sunny glow. To each their own! 🍻
In this video I only used Dehancer to a minimal extent. When I use it I don't always apply a film look and only use the effects Bloom, Halation and Grain. It really depends on how happy I am with the look I get with the grading I do before hand in Lumetri. When I use filmstock, it's usually FujiPro 400H. I've also used one of the Kodak Vision films. But I always change the look a bit further than that using the colour head settings :)
Took me actually until the train station picture to finally understand that it's Fulpmes. Somehow I was thinking of Neustift a bit further up the valley initially.
As far as what the film stocks are, I have no idea, but I at least suspect that their umi 800 is using the same film stock as cinestill 800t (probably)
I was looking in the comments but didn’t find the info.. what town was that..? Just discovered your channel couple days ago! Love it man! Love your accent too!🫡
I actually have a lot of tutorials on my Patreon if that is the kind of stuff you're looking for - as in editing and colour grading tutorials or even lighting setups for video. And even a 26 minute breakdown of how I made my biggest short film project :D Is that the kind of stuff you mean or something else?
It’s a small chain in an area about an hour southwest from Shinjuku Station called Champ Camera. I go there quite often and they also develop film in about an hour, if you’re interested. They have so much film, it’s crazy.
Champ Camera, about an hour southwest of Shinjuku Station. There’s four in the area. They have a plethora of film and can develop color film in about an hour. B&W film will take about a week.
Hi Teo, awesome video again. How do you travel with your films trough the airport scanners? Never had issues that the scanners destroying your filmstocks when flying from Japan to Europe?
Thank you David! Ohh I’ve just always been lucky😅 The new CT scanners will probably wreck your films but the old scanners (for us probably still the “normal” ones that don’t look like a huge round airplane turbine) are fine up to ISO 1600 I think. My Lomo 800 went through just fine. And so now I always try to find out whether the airports I’m going to already have the new scanners. Until now, they didn’t, but once they do… well I guess I’ll have to buy my film in the country then🤷🏻♂️
When i was in japan I went to kitamura camera in shinjuku, they had a lot of him but mostly the standard stuff. If you dont mind, where abouts is this shop that you found this film stock located?
Could you please make more videos about the gx80. I just bought it as my first camera because I got inspired by your videos. I love those videos a lot and I'm having a good time with my gx80 now
Hi, I actually have multiple tutorials on colour grading on my Patreon. This includes the grading of my videos in general but also of specific projects (such as the Kodak commercial) as well as photo editing from various shoots :)
Thx for your videos. I really enjoy watching them. I'm currently thinking about getting the Lumix gx80 because I'm on a budget an I love how compact it is. Do you think that is a good Idea or do you think there are better options in this pricecategorie?
ughhh affordable film in Japan.. hmm, well the easiest tip is to not buy in central Tokyo haha. I found my best prices in little local shops in small towns when I was travelling through Nagano. Also just don't buy Kodak if possible, because Kodak is quite expensive in Japan, whereas if you manage to find a place that still sells some Fuji you can usually get those for a better price. So I can't really give you specific recommendations - I just know that central Tokyo has a couple cool shops, but they're certainly not cheap - e.g. Lemoncamera. Sometimes I've found film in unexpected random places, where the price was also quite acceptable for example in LOFT.
may i know ur settings e.g shutter speed, iso as well as aperture for this shoot, im new and i really love the way u shoot, so i want to base my photos off yours in daylight scenarios. Thank you!!
Hard to say, because what part of the conversion process do you count as editing? I scan the negative and then convert them with Negative Lab Pro (NLP). However NLP only gives me its interpretation of the negative which is often clearly wrong in which case I edit things such as the white balance, tint and some hues in the colour head settings. I do also help out with balancing the brightness and contrast. All this could be seen editing, but in my opinion colour correction is the better term for this. I don't then save the file as a .tiff and further edit it in Lightroom, because I'm mostly happy with what I can achieve with NLP :)
I use a Rode video micro (proper small shotgun mic from Rode but on the cheap side of their products) I actually just recently uploaded a audio editing and workflow tutorial on my Patreon, so you can check that out if you want an in-depth step by step look into the techniques☺️🙌🏼
Hi Teo! Really like your content. Can you please advise if you have some tips for shooting in winter? I heard that if you shoot outside in cold temperatures and then come indoors - you can get condensation inside the camera and it can lead to some damage (?). Is there any advise on how to prevent this? (if it's even true, because I'm not sure)
Yes, condensation is not cool, your camera will not like it. Basically all you need to do is not openly expose your camera from one condition (cold and dry air outside) the other (warm and humid air) at once. If you simply pack your camera into your bag before heading inside and then let it warm up inside the bag without opening it the camera should be fine. By keeping it in the bag the temperature and air conditions change slower and more gradually, so it shouldn't damage the camera. I usually pack my camera into my camera bag, then head inside and at home I'll not take my camera out for at least an hour, but I usually just go about the rest of my day and take it out many hours later or even on the next day.
i need some motivation to Kickstart my photography brother... once a time i also go out and take so many photo.... but now i become a lazy person...and can't get any motivation to go out... can anyone help
you need to just take your camera with you places. go for a walk, bring the camera. go for a vacation, bring the camera. go walk around the busiest area in your city, bring your camera. Think of it like working out; nobody WANTS to get up and go to the gym, but once you're there, it's much easier to finish the routine, and you probably feel great afterwards, and are glad you did it. Once you have a routine, and it's just what you do, it's easier. You're a photographer, you take photos, it's just what you do. Now get out there, and just do.
