In this video I create two paintings. Both are using great big shmears with the Amsterdam formula to create great cells.
Alll of my paints are mixed one part paint to three parts US floetrol, and a squirt of water to reach the desired consistency. My consistency is a mound on a mound that disappears quickly.
The base is Artist Loft black, the copper is Sargent, gold is Modern Masters and Arteza
Blue is Folk art colorshift
The Amsterdam formula is 1 part Amsterdam black oxide mixed with 3 parts US Flietrol, no water.
When you put a thin layer of this formula on a pallet knife or offset spatula, and shmear it over the surface of the metallics, magic happens.
it's like icing a cake. You want to skim the black over the colours. Metallic paints also make wonderful cells.
