I love coming here to read the comments. Some people (like myself at times) are obsessed with reading comments. For example, you find yourself reading this comment right now, which does not contain any useful information, only curiosity, that drives you to waste your time. Have a good day.
people whose asking why do ppl do this, please do some research. this is thricotillomania, a disorder commonly used as a coping mechanism. it makes you compulsively pulck out ur hair in general. so dont mock anyone doing this and if someone actually has this, i hope you recover
Thank you I cry about it every day bc I pluck my eyelashes ppl at school starting making fun of me for it I almost tried to take my own life bc of it..
as someone born with double eyelashes (that means ur born with thick curled long eyelashes) all they do is hurt the heck out of my eyes but i heard boys have double eyelashes a lot but i’m a girl
This is called trichotillomania, it’s a disorder that many people have where they are obsessed with plucking out their hairs, including eyebrows, eyelashes, and even hair from your scalp.
I used to pluck my eyelashes due to severe anxiety with my trichotilomania and it was weird being my eyes with no lashes. It was lowkey satisfying seeing how smooth it was tho. But definitely would not recommend
Demnn that must've been painful as hek, i do understand where you coming from but homie how did you live with pain, when i rub my eyes some lashes fall out tho
@@immaisuradze before I plucked my eye lashes I started with my scalp back in middle school and I’d have bald spots, I even gave myself a hairline at one point which was funny as well cause it didn’t even look that bad. With the eye lashes tho it hurts at first but then after doing it so much you just get used to it and become numb to the pain. at some point it feels good but not because you like the pain but you like the relief you feel after plucking the eyelash out. When you have tricho you feel a disturbance in an area similar to an itch and you want to do whatever you can to get rid of that. Thankfully I haven’t plucked for years now so my case is better than most. There’s people who go years to decades with this mental illness and end up being bald in their scalps eyes and faces for men
For all of those wondering why someone would pluck their eyelashes: there could be many things going on but the first thing that came to mind is trichotillomania, a case of OCD where people pluck their hair/eyebrows/eyelashes as a way to soothe themselves.
@@Lverrtrichotillamania is not OCD but it is kinda related to it and often misdiagnosed as OCD since they are both compulsive behaviors. Trichotillamania is similar but lacks the obsessive thoughts that comes with OCD
@@snek3gg Respectfully, I don’t think they’re alike at all or would see how they would be mixed up together. “Trichotillomania” is more “Dopamine regulation” and they don’t have any “intrusive thoughts” as you said, nor do they have that “annoyance” feeling simply because of the pattern. People often do it for stress, boredom, or etc. However, people with OCD can’t control themselves at all when it comes to such behavior and don’t even realize what they’re doing
I started plucking my eyelashes out when i was 13, 22 now. Got so bad, I'd start actually ripping skin and bleed. Started when i was being abused. Found out i have trichotillmania. Luckily, i got it somewhat controlled and don't pull my eyelashes out as much, and they grow back pretty full, thankfully.
Yeah dude I did that from 6-20. They are back now but if you look carefully they are all weird with small small gaps. And they grow criss cross in the middle
I only pluck my eyelashes (with my fingers) sometimes. It's only when my eye feels like it's being irritated by them. Plus, since it's only the weaker ones that are able to actually get plucked, my eyelashes are still pretty good.
You can scratch them (to the side, I feel like scratching them vertically feels weird) I feel like scratching them is equally effective and more safe Also, it seems that what makes them weak is the plucking itself (I’m not a medic, in fact, I pluck eyelashes myself, which I hope I stop doing now)
As a person who is pulling hair for over 9 years I agree. Hair took longer to grow and they are getting thinner and thinner... For all my trichotillomania fellows, seek help. Go to the therapy, psychologist or psychiatrist, you are pulling your hair bc of anxiety, trauma, mental pain etc. Also I recommend fidget toys to keep both hands busy, oils that help with lashes growth (2 in 1, they grow faster and lashes are too oily to pluck them by hand) and try to meditate and/or do breathing exercises when your anxiety levels are too high
I pluck mine. It comes with stress and I absolutely hate it. It's not like a hobby, it's an impulsive thing. I'd much rather keep my eyelashes, but it's extremely hard to stop
@@matsuri6945bro don't call them freak. Every person with trich has their own way of doing that. Eyelids that are very sensitive so more pain and you can get satisfied faster. A big group of people pluck for that pain
I have trichotillomania and it cause me to pull my lashes and any hair on my body uncontrollably. I see people in the comments making fun about plucking lashes but it is no joke and once you start it because a compulsion and you can’t stop. I do it with my eyebrows as well and it sucks because it’s practically impossible to stop. Also um your lashes will grow back.
@@-rofrog-No, you're lashes can grow back fine if you pull the whole root out. Why would you argue with people who have the mental disorder? I have it too and have been doing it since I was 7 and they grow back fine.
"To protect eyes from dust and debris" yeah but it can't protect my eyeballs from themselves. I get eyelashes in my eyes more often than anything else lol
Once I plucked all the eyelashes on my right eye. I’m glad I didn’t totally destroy the roots but it took a long time to regrow. The eyelashes are still significantly weaker and a bit shorter than the ones on my left eye. It hurt so bad the next day. It was sore like a bruise.
to the ppl who r asking "who would actually pluck their eyelashes" personally, I do it from anxiety. well I did. sometimes i still do. I had such bad axitey I started to develop a disorder where I would pluck all my eye brow hairs, some eyelashes, and even some of my just normal hair. This may not be the cause for everyone but is for me.
I always do from stress and it's become a habit and I started to bite my nails so I don't pluck them but then I use tweezers and I am trying as hard as I can to stop but It just feels weird when they grow back so I pluck them and people make fun of me for it and I can't stop I've been plucking them for about 4-5 years
I used to have this thing where I would pull out my eyelashes one by one. It was a habit and after 2 years of doing it I wouldn't notice it anymore. After 8 years of doing I realized how bad it was and started to try to break the habit. Luckily I did and healed my eyelashes. If I hadn't stopped I would have ended up with the full on hair picking disorder. Trust me if you are doing this try to stop it damges a lot and gets out of hand. If you can't stop by yourself have someone help you with it.
In middle school i pulled out all my lashes over the course of a couple years. Found out years after stopping that the compulsion is called trichotillomania. Now my lashes have regrown and i have received random compliments on them a couple times 😊
@@FranciscoHernandez-cq7rx the eyelashes that DO grow back are small and they aren't curved right. they can poke you in the eye that way. I have a few lashes that are like that...
I have Trichotillomania, I pick my eyebrows and eyelashes because of it, trust me it’s not fun but it’s hard to stop. It’s comes from genes mostly. It’s caused from anxiety, depression, etc
Taking care of your eyelashes is so important! Remember, they protect your eyes from irritants and infections. Let's keep those lashes healthy and strong! 💪👁️
Some guys here don't know what a real slap feels like Because it's The internet not real world that is why people are saying "Womp Womp" *Imitates badly* ❤
since i have OCD (which is like anxiety) , i have experienced this. Its a coping or relieving mechanism after stressful thoughts. It doesnt hurt that much and other people pluck their hair or bite their nails.
My great grandma had to pluck her eilashes, because some of them would grow in the wrong direction and poke her eyes. She did it herself with tweezers, a mirror and a girlboss attitude.

When I was young, I used to pull out my eyelashes and eyebrows, especially when I was anxious (it’s a really weird habit, I know). My eyes were always super itchy and sore and my parents blamed it on hay fever 😂. Nowadays, I have finally learnt my lesson.
It's the same with me when my kajal starts running because if sweating or washing my face . My classmates ask me the same question . But I never thought it would be this serious I'm glad I only do this with eyelashes and not eyebrows
I knew a person who would pull out there eyelashes every time they got anxious to the point they wouldn’t have anymore lashes I hope her anxiety got better💕
I did this once when my eyes got irritated by them, plucked just a few ones near the corner of my eyes. I regretted it as soon as I realised it made my eyes more irritated (turns out I never needed to pluck some out as my sleeping position was the real cause) My eyes aren't irritated anymore, but I'll never do that again.
I pluck my eyelashes, eyebrows, and scalp hair. I’m really saddened by the people in this comment section basically laughing and mocking people who do this. It is something called trichotillomania. People who suffer from it, like me, will 9 times out of 10 suffer from it for the rest of our lives. We just can’t stop, no matter how much we want to. No, it doesn’t typically hurt unlike a normal person. To us, it gives a sense of satisfaction and euphoria. Yes, we know just how “weird” we are for it. So, shut up!

This is called trichotillomania which is a compulsive hair pulling disorder. Which includes plucking eyelashes, eyebrows, and your hair. Mostly it can be to remove stress. Others probably think its just pain to pull out eyelashes or eyebrows and etc. I used to think i had this disorder because i plucked my eyelashes but i realised nothing happened except for less eyelashes. So i grew more stress and anxiety. Trichotillomania is not something 8-16 years olds should make fun of. Its a disorder which others can struggle to stop. And i get theres alot of comments being like “who plucks their eyelashe😂” well me and others. Its not a joke. I once got an eye infection from it. So i also do struggle to stop plucking eyelashes. Hate comments are the 1 thing people with trichotillomania should ignore. You be you and have an awesome day
I love how doing that with hair in other spots doesn’t do anything to completely prevent regrowth but with eyelashes, which are actually important, they can be permanently hone
If you pluck an eyelash, sometimes the entire base of the hair can come out. But this is bad, because eyelashes protect your eyes by keeping out dust and small particles. Without them, your eyes are more susceptible to irritates and ultimately infections. If you plug them regularly, the hair follicles can become permanently damaged and lose the ability to regrow the hair.
I've done it by accident bc (gross warning) I had a stye and it popped and kept bleeding so when I woke up there were chunks of dried up blood around my eye lid and sometimes an eyelash will come out too
If you pluck a eyelash and the bottom of it is black, you can press it against paper and drag it to create an actual black mark as if you used a small brush with black paint.
I also have trichotillomania... Whenever I get stress, I usually pluck my hair, eyebrows, eyelashes and etc....🙂. It is a great stress to live with trichotillomania and I' m a addicter to pluck my own hair everyday 😊
There was a storm today and because of that something got into my brother-in-law's eyes and now it is stuck. There is no doctor around cause of the rain. YOU HAD ONE JOB EYELASHES!!
I have a mutation that causes my eyelashes to be in multiple layers, really thick, and really long, so I often have to pluck them because otherwise, I would end up temporarily bling, irritated and with a massive migraine lmao
