Ironically, I had this happen to what I thought was a fake pair of headphones a very long time ago. Maybe 8 years ago? I'm not entirely sure if they we're fake though. My HTC phone said that I can increase my bass or audio quality or something because they were beats (HTC owned 51% of the company at the time btw) And they also didn't sound awful...
I have Solo 3s and have never had a problem I have had mine for about 2 years now and use them every day I think their perfect but I will say within those 2 1/2 years I bought the beats X and those had a manufacturing defect that has not and will never be fixed you’ll just wake up one day and they’ll just not turn on this happened about a year a little less than a year when I bought them Edit: I do have a friend though who has gone through 3 pairs of solo 3s Edit 2 : Three months have passed since I wrote the first comment and today was the death of my Beat Solo Threes 😭
2022, had my beats for over 3 years and the are Beat up, but still love them. Replacing the head bar and cushions at the moment. Expecting another 2-3 years out of them.
I’ve own beats since 2010 and as soon as apple started owning them, i’ve been buying a pair every year. I dont wanna change to a different brand bcuz i love beats but they really do get shorts often and the brackets break🤦🏽♀️
You should because I’ve had mine for 3 months and now my right side doesn’t work and I love blocking out mfs in school listening to music 😓 now I’m fucked
Mine started to have only one side sound too.... they said I would have to pay 200$ to repair them. Like wtf? Might as well buy another one. which I will not do.
I have 2 solo 2s and 1 is wireless both have busted right hinges. Out of warranty. Still in love with my beats. My studios are still in good condition and my urbeats are still good👊🏾. I will purchase again when the time is right 🤑
I have the rose gold solo 3’s and had to use my warrantee to replace them once because the sound went out in 1 ear for no reason. Also, the leather around the ears comes out but it can be pushed back in, but why should I have to? I would t but the solos again but I’ve just purchased the studio’s.
I had two different beats solo 3’s and both of them broke exactly like is sons and daughters did, after 4 months of use. I stepped up to the studio pro’s and absolutely love them. The build quality is way better than the solo’s
Yup solos suck. All 6 pair of ours broke like this. The studios suck, they all cracked on the panels. I refuse to buy anymore Beats at this point. I've bought 9 pair. That's enough foolery for me
All late to the convo, as this just popped up on my feed.. but I got these as a gift and the issue I am having is just under that hinge that broke for CT, between the earpiece and hinge, the plastic is cracking on both ears. So far, the sound hasn't been affected but it is probably a matter of time.
Mine stopped working a year after buying them. Babied them too. They just wouldn’t turn on. Tried using the aux cord that came with and they act really weird. Definitely gonna get something new.
My 10yo broke his because he fell asleep with them on while studying. We use them now for home schooling. It took him 5 years to do that. They looked awful and I had to buy decals and new ear covers on Amazon to make them cute again. I replaced them with the Mickey's 90th Anniversary ones and and a wired one for school and pc use only. Those beats travelled the world and survived 3 trips to Disneyworld, other Themeparks and being drizzled on in rain and splashed at times by water. They truly did what we needed them to. The battery held less charge for fewer hours since being used for 9hr school days. I used plugs in the ports to prevent dust and moisture getting in and we stored them well when not in use.
I’ve had my beats solo 3 since the end of 8th grade currently as sophomore and I haven’t had a single problem with them, dropped them a bunch, nothing seems wrong with it , I’ve put it through days of work, like 3 hours of constant heat (don’t know if they could mess it up) but nonetheless I haven’t had a problem with it , granted I do try and take good care of it but the worst I’ve had with them is I got the white pair the inside ear piece from sweat and dirt and things got a little dirty and the inside isn’t white anymore, but other than that they’ve worked great, I’m sorry to hear your experiences with these headphones weren’t good but I love my beats
I had Beats Solo 3 and i had problems with speakers... after warranty ends i had problems with battery. And one speaker didn't worked by bluetooth but by wire both speakers worked!
Mine lasted about a year exactly, same issues as your kids. Now they wont turn on at all, have to use them via dongle and cable. VERY convenient. Great review, hope more people get warned before spending premium money on a sub-par product. Sony 1000X M3 seem like a much better investment.
This is weird I am having the same problem. I love the headphones and the sound. I called them they said go to bestbuy and they said to me. We are no longer repairing these.
My beats solo 3 still working good. Wear them at work everyday. Just replace the cushions the other day since they were falling apart but they still sound the same as when I first got them.
My friend, I feel your pain. It happened to all my beats headphones, totally sucks. I am super frustrated, just like you. I agreed with you. Stay away from Beats. I am going to attempt to fix my headphones myself, because I am not buying them all over again.
2 weeks after mine ran out of warrenty the left speaker died. Also half the timw i had these the leather peice had pulled out of the cup. Had the same issue with my solo 2s
Had solos 3 for almost a year and its sooooo goood and the charging rate is soooo fast like 20 mins and its on 4 or 3 bars but i swapped it for sony m3 which is sooo much better
Same here bro even I have a beats solo3 wireless gloss black and they did brake, from the same place yours broke, but I had them in warranty and I got them replaced
Mame Diarra Sow I looked at the QC35s. IMO, not the best looking headphones, but they do sound really good and I know the build quality is better. I would go for them over the solo 3s.
my main gripe with beats is that they feel like they will break if you don't treat them gently. Also i wasn't crazy about the sound quality in a club environment. i was given a pair from apple beats but i stopped using them within 6 months.
Very good video, you should have more subscribers! Just subscribed by the way! :D Keep up the great work! (P.S. I buyed a Beats EP yesterday, hope I don’t get this issue 😅)
Luckily when i unboxed my solo beats 3 , it wasnt damage at all , i treat them with very much care , almost 2 months owning , for the past month's no problem thank god, i dont heavily use them or break it down as much , possibly just a 2 hour use & wont use them for an entire day also got a 2 year warranty if anything goes wrong
I just bought the Studio 1.0 , i like the classic design of the old beats headphones and they sound pretty good as i expected. I had the solo 2 but the hinge broke within 6 months,my 5 year old solo hd still work. Shame on the new beats made by Apple the old ones were way better with Monster
I’ve never used the Solo line. The Studios have always been legit to me. I put them through the gym and have drenched them in sweat. No problems. My first and second pair went out after about 12 to 15 months of just pure abuse. They are worth it to me.
Alcide Jaramillo I'm not as familiar with the Studios because I've only used the solos. I'm glad they work for you but they should. They are much more expensive. 12 months isn't that long to have to replace them. I have 20 year old Sony 7506 that still work.
I had mine for a year, both of the arms became loose, the leather on the cups kept falling off and now I have the studio3's. If this also happens to those I'm getting the bose qc35's
I mean i have been using beats for over 4 5 years now i hade the solos for 2 years+ and haven't had a problem with them i have the mixrs and the pros for over 4 years have no problems with them other than the ear cushions tearing ... I just had the one ear shorting out thing with my studio 1 and i blew the speaker it was my fault
I had mine for 3 years almost and i droped them in my dog bull i dryde them as fast as i could and they were dry and they keep workin till i turned em of and used it the next day
I had beats solo 2 and they broke 9 fucking times in a year. Every time i went to the store where i bought them and they gave me new ones. Have to say build quality in that model is just shit. 7 times right side stopped working and 2 times battery just died.
My left hinge just broke last week. I ordered a 15 dollar hinge on Amazon. Took it apart and fixed it myself. Probably the best solution if you are out of warranty.
@@JustysFrank headphones that were comfortable, and lasted me 450 days until one day I picked them up and broke them in half, for 15 bucks it was an amazing deal
@@ThahnG413 I would argue good is about (from an audio hobbyists perspective) the actual tuning and quality of the speakers. Now don’t get me wrong, Beats aren’t good for that either (too much bass, and highs hardly exist), but I personally doubt your $15 headphones have anything but mids.
Mine just broke after about 1.5 years. The right ear stopped working on the wireless setting. I took them in to the apple store and they flat out told me it was a malfunctioning chip dealing with the Bluetooth setting and that it was nothing I did. But I was out of warranty so it was either send them to be fixed for 129$ or buy a new pair. They told me to sell my malfunctioning pair to a third party website to help afford new ones. Long story short, I’m switching to Sony headphones.
I know this video is old, but since this also happened to my Solo's I too want to help spread awareness to how crappy and overpriced beats are. Luckily I could still wear mine, they just didn't stay folded/extended on their own anymore. They stopped working all together about a month later. Thanks for sharing
You go to a different store buy the same pair then go in right after within an hour and tell them you want a refund but give them the broken headphones and you keep the good ones, I have been doing this for decades from headphones, MPC players, electronic devices, at supermarkets no staff ever questions Me they just look at the receipt and refund Me. Sometimes they wont refund but they do let Me just go grab a different pair off the shelf so now I have two working pairs instead of one good and one broken, still a win.
I bought my beats on 2017 now this year 2019 when i turn them on they last 10 seconds then they turn off by themselves:( sucks i loved them RIP beats im sad
I've had my solo 3s for a year. I use them nearly every day while sitting, walking around, and at the gym. The only thing I've had to replace are the ear cushions due to the sweat, which was fairly inexpensive and expected
@@BigDraco123 I bought them 4 years ago chineses limited edition new year solo beat 3 and i use them almost every day lol no joke same with this guy above i only replace once the cushion. The sound and all is great but if you have big ears this is not for you for sure. The price yes its overpriced when it released ngl. But i think this should be around 100-150 $ fair price. Mine got few scratches and i dropped them like many times and they still look fine lol idkn about this guy but mine are great.
I bought the beats ep a year ago. I have not had any issues with them. They are probably the cheapest beats that you can buy. I am very satisfied with the overall build quality and the sound quality is very good. The frame of the beats ep is partially made up of aluminium
I bought beats solo 3 3 months ago and a few weeks ago the same thing happens to me but I returned them and got a new one. I’m still afraid that it’ll happen again😥 To be honest I returned them 2 time in only 3 months. The first time one ear wasn’t working and then it brocke. I just wish I never bought them. I spend 269 euros 😭
my first experience is me buying a new black solo 2 wireless and then 1 month later the glass on the sides broke same as you, and then 2 years later i bought a new ones and i already learned my lesson now im really scared folding it😂😂😂
darrenweckl Production yeah I went to vmoda so my worry about build quality is gone, BUT I can already see my sons beats starting to get really weak around the joints. It’s only a matter of time.
Check out bluedio , amazing headphones really good sound quality , mine i’ve had for 2 years & lasts up to weeks without charging them and best thing about it is you can get them less than $25
I saw this video and still asked for them for Christmas and for about 2 months with no problems I enjoyed them. Then one of the hinges got really loose some how so now every time I take them out of the case the hinge on the right extend by themselves. That was a stab on the back because I trusted that they would be good quality headphones and my parents aren’t rich. 1-10 I give it a 7 next time I will go with some Bose...
Made the mistake of buying a set of these at Sam's Club. Needed to use them in a pro/wired connection, so, of course, there is a consumer mini plug on the end of the cable. Then, after using an adapter, found that the sound "quality" is atrocious! (My KOSS phones sound SOOOO much better. ) So, back to the store the Beats go, for a refund.
Thanks so much for this great video. I was looking into a pair of the rose gold ones as i listen to music and podcasts pretty much all day. Ill probably be deaf by the time im 45.
Honestly I agree with but it’s because I have had great service from apple and once they fixed them they never broke again if something happens in the first year send them back and bam idk just my opinion people may say it’s a waste but it’s my life lol
Ezugo Obuekwe I’ll have to check those out. But really my point is that it’ll come down to personal preference I really haven’t had bad experiences with them and I think they’re really great headphones for what I need them for. Again personal preference but I will check out those other headphones
Had mine for over 2 years, they survived multiple crashes on my longboard going about 30mph falling off my head. The only problem I've had is replacing the ear pads 2 times. Other than that I love them.
same lol idkn those people complaining lmfao 4 years wearing here only replace once the coush and have few scratches mine is limited edition chinese new year solo beat 3
Same happen to my friend's solo3. I almost pick one for myself. Luckily, I decided to go for skullcandy cruher wireless. I'm using it more than a year now and it still works perfectly fine. It's my daily headphone by the way.
When I got my beats solo 3 rose gold, in 8 months the right ear broke. Funny enough it took 2 months of calling the beats service. The first attempt of taking it to post office, they gave us the wrong barcode. So we had to restart and get right back onto them. It took 1 month for apple to call us back. Only today in October when we were calling them in September and got them mailed off. I seriously want my beats back in the time period they told us: 3 to 10 days. The service is quite terrible. The headphones are fragile and too expensive.
My beats solos 3 stopped working a week after the warranty. Thankfully after much wrangling over the phone and getting proof of purchase with the date on it etc I have managed to get Apple to repair it. Won’t be getting another pair though. Before I managed to convince Apple to repair the dam things I got some £16 cheap ones off eBay. I’m half expecting them to sound better lol
That’s so true I replace my beats x every 9 months , now I’m out of warranty and they are broken again . And by mean broken they open and close all the time and now 3 white flash happen
