Holy crap bro I’ve been stuck at the 2 second plateau and I’ve been very worried, so glad this dropped thank you

How did you escaped the plateau?

@NoahBanman22 3 дня назад
@@iitzpeanut im about 1 second off now but making consisten progress. I just started practicing with an objective instead of shutting my brain off and doing laps. i just started to think about ways to tkae corners faster and faster. for gt3 i had to hold on the brakes much longer than expected which allowed me to brake later too. I just kept on trial and erroring ways to get faster and actively using my brain. hope this helps

@@NoahBanman22 nice glad you are getting faster :) I'm stuck at 1:50 at Monza in GT3 ACC and cant get faster as hard as I try. Recently I figured out that I accelerate way later than I should, since I felt safe the way I was driving, but I hope it's really only this, since sometimes I get 1:49 and today even just saw my deltaTime 1:48 before I crashed :D Then there are the aliens doing 1:44 -.-

@@iitzpeanut hahaha yeah the aliens are wild. Last I checked I got down to 49s on gt3 on iracing. But it’s just a grind, figuring out what’s going on. Good luck out there mate!

I had an “aha” moment last week, I was gripping the wheel too tight (even though, after watching your videos, I thought I had stopped), and when I forced myself to become consciously aware, I realised what I was doing wrong. Among other things that it was doing, it restricted my movement and stopped me from having free rotational movement. I’d turn the wheel left hand up, and still be gripping with my right hand, which restricted me from turning as much as the car could handle. I realised, all I had to do to fix this, was completely relax my grip on the down hand so that it was doing little to no controlling of the wheel and it transformed my driving!

It's refreshing to hear you debunk the theory of "Talent". I believe that *EVERYONE* is capable of achieving *INCREDIBLE* things. As long as they have the proper mindset and discipline. And I am going to prove this to be true ;)
@ross1680
@ross1680 4 дня назад
When you come to the real top you will see what talent means. I've struggled with mentality issues like fear of failure since the early childhood and it's still here. I can compete with 7-8k boys for 10 minutes and then I just burned out and done. And we didn't even touch the natural talent yet
@theSafetyCar
@theSafetyCar 4 дня назад
@ross1680 The more you look at ultra talented people, the more you find people who have been practicing a sport or skill since they were 4 or 5 years old. Max Verstappen, Tiger Woods, Steph Curry all have this in common. On top of world class training and expertise from a tender age.
@ross1680
@ross1680 4 дня назад
@@theSafetyCar I've been doing carting at 6 y.o. and I'm not bad at all, but nowhere near top level both in sim and real racing. It's both the talent and training, not just the second one. I can imagine us in F2 cars with lots of training, but it will be Lance Stroll level at it's top :))

Dude! I love seeing the development of this channel and seeing your storytelling techniques improve just as much as your driving every race. You are more relaxed in this video compared to most others. Your voice is more dynamic and gets excited when needed, but relaxed otherwise. Everything can be improved as long as you pay attention to the details that matter. Keep up the tempo man! 💪

Hey, that's my car at the start! :D I want to note that sometimes changing things for the better will make you feel uncertain for a while, thinking you made a mistake because you're a bit slower and much less consistent, but with practice, you're gonna start climbing again. Then before you know it, you have surpassed your platou, still improving to new levels. I just recently got that feeling and I have a path to greater lap times. Good video and an important topic!

A video like this can help but also probably make people worry and feel bad lol. My biggest issue is I have those aha moments but then I overthink them and or ocd on them and almost ruin those moments. Then those moments I may try every corner and go nope OK doesn't work everywhere. So just so much to think about and learn and do. I'm not 2 seconds off of the top times I am about 1 second off. So not to bad but im getting there. I almost think to much and it ends up hurting me. I can feel it and understand it then boom to many thoughts. Tbh there was a video you made about showing tbe guy how to trail brake right and how to turn the car in and taught him how to lose control doing it and or turn in to much with the brakes. That was the biggest help I've ever had from anybody. Changed my driving massively. Then I had to learn throttle control. Wen is the fight time, how early. How late. When to coast when not to coast. Trail brake into throttle directly etc. How to nail those exits perfectly as they matter most of all. So yeah fun stuff
@nosebleedpuddle
@nosebleedpuddle 4 дня назад
It's also a strange thing that I've experienced myself. If you're doing time trial for example say for a couple of hours trying to improve 10ths or so and you just can't for the life of you figure it out. Then you take a week, maybe 2 week break and come back to the circuit fresh, you instantly improve. I'm not sure if this is the case of overdriving a car or consistently driving with bad habits but very interesting.

I find this even from day to day, it’s like the learnings compound in my sleep over night and then it’s much more natural the next time I drive.

Your videos motivate me a lot. You are amazed coach. I learnt about rotation and trail braking what improves my lap time yet but it opens the door to next level. I broke my plateau now and try new things on every lap and every car. You are saying obvious thigs but it's exactly brilliant because that delivered by easy understandable language. Suellio, you did a great job. You are adorable.

I remember for awhile on iracing i was practicing trail braking and trying to coast in corners and master certain skills. At one point im like “why wont this car turn and why is everyone so fast on exit” i realized i was resting my foot on the brake so lightly that it was literally holding me back. So i just lift my foot off brake so hard now and it has helped 😔😂😂😂😂 so embarrassing…

"Give a man a fish - feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish feed him for life". The good coaches teach a man to fish. I see the same in real life track days. Most "instructors", give a man pieces of fish (brake here, turn here). The good ones, teach basic principles.

Right now I’m 1% off aliens time. Ofc I’m hitting plateau like I did 2 years ago. Quality practise improved me, but quality practise came by quality on equipment which just made the learning curve easier ( too many hours needed to develop good habits in t150 compare to let’s say DD & load cell ) Equipment doesn’t improve u by 3sec but definitely cuts some tenths from your lap time. Some tenths are also in the deadly oversteery setups aliens are used to. Don’t be harsh to yourselves and enjoy driving.

Im about 2 seconds off the fastest drivers, I looked at their telemetry on driver61 and found their cornering speed was 10km faster. They had less braking force while trail braking. They were a few km faster on the straights before, and we broke at the same time (me 2 metres ish later). So I think I need to go faster through corners.

That's me too. Have to find that sweet spot for rotation and trust the car more. Sometimes I can feel it but getting consistent with it is difficult. I have also found my turn in slightly too early, probably due to not trusting the car enough.
@Shortsmemes-e1f
@Shortsmemes-e1f 3 дня назад
@davidnichols2986 Yeah, sometimes I feel the rotation sometimes its not there. I thought I just turned into max verstappen one day when it was raining in the norchelife, and every exit was perfect where I felt the car rotate.

I've hit my plateau like 3 or 4 years ago, my input telemetry is very close to VRS, but my line is not, so I'm roughly 1.5 to 2 seconds off VRS' times. I could spend countless hours practicing the pixel perfect car placement, but I draw no enjoyment from that, I want to race not practice.

Idk if this will help you, but i have a g920 as well and play ACC. It was set at maximum gain and because of that i couldn`t feel the car understeer when turning the wheel too much. After decreasing the gain to about 90% the ffb became weak but i can actually feel the car much better.

@@psycopt8770 alright thank you. Currently I am tying iracing and I definitely feel like on Asseto I could feel the car wayyy more but I figured it was just the change of game and I had to get used to it. But now that I have consistent track times I am not sure.
