No everybody’s sense of style is unique beautiful and individualistic. This lovely RU-vidr actually looks amazing in everything she makes great points and I think probably could’ve exaggerated her examples a bit more to show her point she actually looks really good in everything!!! Her first “bad look” actually looks quite chic I think she’s just trying to explain about elevating basics to make them look a bit more smart and posh
It's interesting how "not working" actually is just "not trendy at the moment". A few years ago the before outfit was the first choice everywhere and after a while something else will be
How a person carriers themselves makes the outfit work or not too... I know its for the purpose of the video and I get that but the way she stands and ger demeanor and confidence levels in the before and after play a huge part to the outfit looking good or not too.
@@michellephung7038it might not be deliberate, she doesn't like the styling so she doesn't stand confidently. For me when i know i know I've found a winner in the changing rooms is when i start posing like her "do" poses, when i think it looks crap I just stand there looking like "what is this?".
I wear that same look quite often and I like it, as it has fast become my replacement for skinny jeans, and it looks quite smart. Horses for courses and all that.
So funny because to me, a skinny jean queen, those first trousers are not slim fit 😆 those are baggy to me. And I actually really like how that outfit looked. It looked professional and clean and it made your legs look super long. The baggier trousers are fine too but in my opinion, they’re too long on you. They’re dragging on the floor and rolling up on your feet. An inch or two off the bottom will give that relaxed look without looking ill fitting! Just my thoughts on the outfits but you’re beuaorufl 😊
I think, that first look with stripes blouse and more skinny trausers look way better than second option with loose trausers and sneakers, it look messy and not interesting..
I have a hard time finding looser clothing that is well fitting for me. I have a curvaceous hourglass figure so I often find that looser clothing winds ip looking frumpy or unflattering on me. I think all your tips are so on point though! Just not sure how to pick flattering and loose pieces
I’m hourglass in shape also and have learned that ANYTHING loose, just doesn’t work with my body type. I stick with fitted clothing and use different textures and interesting accessories to upgrade my look. As I have large breasts and hips, I would never wear think vertical stripes lol. Her body type works well with loose clothing.
Clothes that define the waist are a better option. For example, high waisted trousers that are fitted till the hips and slightly flared or loose at the bottom might work.
And it's not just you 🌞, women with curves might look bigger (in the wrong way) in oversized clothes and even without any curves, it can sometimes look off. It's all in the details for each and the lines. You have to know them. Let me know if you have anything in particular that doesn't work for you, I can help you clarify it🌞 (that's my work)
Exactly. You could wear a jute sack with a belt and bam you look stylish....Same goes the other way, I have been there ugh It is a lot of work to look semi ok when you have extra lbs/kgs.....
Except knee high boots, you end up swimming around in them and can only wear them under dresses or culottes. It has been a pain all my life. I will allow gaps in wellies or a deliberate loose biker, but the more lady like ones (Paris Texas style for instance) not a prayer on my calves and that is after going hard on them in the gym, just refuse to fill out a pair of knee boots, so skinny people can't wear anything and boots like that are a staple.
a lot of people said that the first outfit looks good because actually, the pants are not skinny fitted, it's slim fitted and arent narrow from the bottoms so it completely works fine, whereas it would definitely look wired if it was completely skinny ,secondly the stripe adds attention to the upper body more so it just overall works great
Eh, it depends on the person body type. A lot of these outfits changes can make a person look frumpy, or look unflattering on them, while for other people the outfit suggestions look quite nice
1st outfit looks lovely on you, it's fitted but not too tight. Too tight does not look right on anyone. Let us not be sausages darlings! Lydia you're radiant!
The first look is actually very Audrey Hepburn- but it takes on a modern twist when you add the baggier trouser. Both are equally good, imo. Also, drop your staple brands! I'd kill to know where you shop, these pieces are so slick.
But that depends highly on the body type…. Not everyone will look boring in first outfit, and as good as you in the second. These are very personalised propositions. Just like tiny, revealing dress can look fashionable on very skinny girl, but it will feel like too much on curvy one (I am not saying that anyone has to avoid any style, just that the same piece of clothing gives different impressions depending on body wearing it)
I’m a women in my mid 50’s and I love sophisticated comfortable clothes as well as natural looking makeup and effortless stylish hair. I’m a new subscriber and have already started to incorporate your tips. For example, I have a black linen spaghetti strap maxi dress, v- neck and v-back. I’ve never worn it as I’ve had it in my mind that it was dressy… with limited dressy events partly due to Covid… it has hung in my closet for nearly 3 years… today I pulled it on… put a tan wrap belt and tan flat sandals … pulled out a light wicker and tan oversized purse… simple hoop earrings. Sophisticated and cool in the late summer. No money spent and many compliments! Thanks!
The first tip is absolutely spot on. If one item is tight, the other item needs to be looser. For example, if the shirt is tight, the bottoms need to be looser. If both are tight or loose, it doesn’t work. Both items that are too loose actually makes the person look frumpy and heavier than what she really is.
The oversized blazer covering the skirt or shorts is an intentional look. It almost gives the vibe of wearing no skirt or trousers from the side (cheeky), but from the front view the shorts/skirt are easily visible, because the blazer is always worn open.
My issue with sloucy looks is that depending on body type/size, the slochier looks can give off messy and not put together. That fit doesn't compliment body shape and accentuate the body such as the waist, which can give a flattering look.
You are so right, proportion is key! The oversized blazer on shorter shorts looks very odd (especially from behind) as it looks like you forgot your psnts
I have a bit of a problem with the use of layers to accesorize, if I put on a short sleeve and shorts it's because it's hot! So it makes no sense to put more clothes on!
Hey, Lidia! Could you do a Summer version? I live in Brazil and sometimes it can be can to look polish when I am with t-shirts, shorts or dresses... thank you!
The main take away is that some of these fashion ‘rules’ are kinda bs. The first outfit was elegant and by far the most put together, despite apparently being too basic
Drop the sneakers, please. There's nothing smart about them, especially with loose trousers. I see them in all your videos. Even worse, the combo trench coat, loose trousers, and sneakers. Awful
before looks seem classic and chic. maybe lacking some jewelry. after are stylish, but modern-day-instagram-influencer stylish. for day-to-day life before makes much more sense
Agreed! Those slouchy pants are so impractical. They're going to pick up so much dirt and germs from the floor, show up in the color. Also wonder if one might trip wearing them 😅
@@nataliyasattarova9423 OMG, I do not want to worry about that with my clothes. I do feel the recent clothing trends have tailored towards influencer-nice-photo styles, not very practical if you need to walk a few blocks in public
The first outfit was fine. A blazer would have dressed it up, but those baggy pants and sneakers gave it a sloppy look. I get that she was trying to go for a relaxed look, but it wasn't working.
Please lose the chunky fluffy beige slide sandals. They do nothing for you and your cute pretty clothing. They look like house slippers. I see them at Nordstroms but they are simply not attractive.
Love it! Just that it’s funny, that fitting tight tops with tight jeans(so called, “skinny jeans”) was a huge fashion norm back in late 2000s to early 2010s. I guess trend always changes, and fashion rules change accordingly.
You are spot on. And apparently Lydia doesn't know that tighf fitting clothes are already back, again. Basically, both shapes are ok to wear and depends on your preference as well as some other things 🌞
In England you’d probably never leave the house without a jacket, even in summer. A blazer is a light jacket by English standards, certainly not suitable for Autumn or Winter.
You are the queen of slouchy ( yes, classy slouchy ) It certainly does work for you , you are young , pretty , slim and confident in your style ! Bravo 👏 It however , does Not work for me 😓 Nevertheless , I enjoy your style
After binging your videos for the past 3 days one thing you've managed to cement in my brain is the importance of proportions. I love it, it makes me view shopping in a different way now.
For someone who has big hips &thighs, full butt and short stature, pleated pants/shorts with pockets are definitely not your friends. So frustrating trying to find stylish pants other than jeans for everyday casual.
I’m an aspiring character designer and have been having trouble with clothing, finding your channel helps a lot in referencing and inspiration. Thank you.
These are such simple tips but the differences once you see it working is amazing. Totally liked and subscribed because I genuinely want to create a look book for myself.
Y'all it's not what you wear, it's how you wear it. She thinks the after always looks better because she poses in them more confidently. Plus accessories
