I'm a woman in my early 60's, and I so appreciate that you have not left maturing women behind. My appearance changed over the years, not my feelings or my brain. Good job Wayne!
Absolutely I'm in my 40s and I deeply appreciate these. I've had to change how I do my makeup as I get older as some of my old techniques make me look older
Thank you for addressing makeup for older people. Unfortunately, we can't stay 20, but it seems most of the makeup videos I watch are for teens and 20's. Love your vids!
True! Or they’ve had so much work done that they don’t have the same issues I have at 52. I don’t plan to have surgery so I need to know how to work with what I have. Wayne is so practical.
Each time I follow His directions I’m shocked at much the change improves the end result of my make-up application. Actually his instructions on how to apply foundation in a circular motion with a brush was just genius. Each time someone comments on what “ young and pretty” skin I have at 72, I thank Wayne to myself! 😅 He’s just adorable too…
I'm 67...why I was just looking in the mirror yesterday and I was 16. Yes, that's how quick it's gone for me. I do so appreciate you considering us women of a certain age (old AF, but young at ❤). I've been gifted with great facial skin, but one must take care of it no matter how great genes are. So thank you for helping me look my best. Even my 91 year old mother loves you. Your honesty and spirituality are without compare. Love, Bobby Vegas
I remember the original video and can not believe it was created that long ago!! I love this concept. It does really work & is a great point of reference obviously tweaked for each person’s face. Thank you Wayne!! Edit: I remember after the original video I started to notice when peoples contour was too far forward. Head on you would see this darker patch that was out of place or dirty looking & after the video I realized what it was & why it did not look good. I am not artistic so I need tips & tricks to get placement it’s best & that video was a wonderful “ah ha” moment for me! 😉
I remember the original video as well! After watching it that has been the only way I've done my highlight, blush, and contour! Although i do remember him mentioning in the original that if you have glasses it helps with finding the edge of the guideline -- or something of the sort 😅. Point is I've been putting on all three while having my glasses on and it always looks perfect!
I love the way he explains and shows us exactly how to use his techniques. I wish I could have this artist apply my make up one time in my life.Thank you for seeing women over 40 and beyond.
Love your information always. Application techniques for dealing with problematic issues as we age. No botox, no fillers and just what I wear makeup for. Love it.
Your sweater brings back memories, must be 40 years already ... oh my. :) The 80's were so colourful, glad to see recent trends bring back colour. I am going to apply the blusher according to the magic line first thing tomorrow. Thank you, Wayne!
I love how you educate about makeup. I appreciate the non complicated methods to enhance beauty at any age and it’s empowering. I don’t wear a lot of makeup, but when I do I want it done in ten minutes and I don’t want it to look like I’ve caked it on.
I'm almost 55, not great at makeup and I LOVE your videos. You explain things so well. You don't use what looks like hundreds of products and your instructions are actually able to be followed by someone like me who is not a professional and still look good. You are AMAZING! I wish I would have found you before my second wedding so my makeup would have been PERFECT! I am so grateful ❤
I am so appreciative for your tips for mature women. When I was in my 20’s or 30’s I really had no issues to deal with. As was stated, we can’t stay 20 forever. I have been applying dots of my lipstick high on my cheekbones and into my temples as well. It seems powders of any type just do me no justice at all. Thank you Wayne, much love to you and yours!❤
Thanks for repeating this lesson on the magic line. My line was creeping towards my nose over time - because frankly, I forgot about this rule. (Another lovely aspect of aging!) Keep these videos coming - we all look forward to your advice and tips - from a big fan!
This is how my mom taught me to put blush on when I was like 10! I always wondered if I was missing something bc everyone else seemed to put their blush on the apples of their cheeks but I never thought that looked so good on me. This makes total sense 😄
I love you. Been following for years. You never fail to speak to the 40+ community. Thank you:) I've been noticing the last few years, I can no longer use the light concealers, they only emphasize the bags/been finding myself using pink tones instead. Also noticing my contour/bronzer/blush not suiting my face shape lately either....Def adding this technique to my arsenal. Thank you Wayne!
Wayne, I have been watching your videos before I went to Cosmetology School and became a makeup artist myself 13 years ago. I have stopped watching most beauty gurus, but not you. I have found your videos to be practical, honest, and your techniques timeless. I would say half of my clientele are mature, and when I'm scheduled for weddings I am their go-to for the Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunts etc. I will forever point clients to your videos when they ask me who makes my favorite beauty content. Thank you for years of wisdom, and inspiration!
I. Am 73 and these under eye bags made me look like 1000 years old. Your technique of applying blusher made me feel like 21. You are God sent gift. Thank you so much.
Even when I was younger I did this with my blush and it seems to go against every.single.RU-vidr tutorial (but yours). I never could get anything else to look right and now I know why! Thank you! :)
I love you soooo much!!! Thank you!!! I’m 53 and trying to figure out how to navigate makeup without looking like I’m trying to stay younger!! I just want to accentuate my positives and lesson my new found negatives!! This helps me tremendously!!! ❤️❤️✌️ Thank You~Thank You!!
Wayne please upload more videos like these! You’re one of few who actually educates on how to do make up and the “science” behind it and not just showing a pretty look. All I know about makeup I know thanks to you and I get compliments quite often, so I can’t thank you enough 🙏
I think you are brilliant and are indeed thinking what may be outside the box to some today but everything you do make so much sense! Again, I would choose you over anybody in the world to do my makeup. 💗
Simple adjustment that truly works. Can definitely see the difference it made between the two sides of your face. As a young woman of 67, I knew to do this, but think I was still coming a little too far forward under the eyes, so the tissue trick will help a lot. Thanks!
♥️♥️♥️Wayne- because of you, I spend less time in front of the mirror. I use less makeup, apply it in the correct way- and go!! Love you sooo much, thank you.
Hey Wayne! Love the video! I've always kept blush and highlighter outside the irises of my eyes and never lower than the bottom of my nose. This placement prevents me from over-enhancing or irritating the rosacea patches on my lower cheeks and keeps me from disturbing or displacing the camouflaging I do when these patches are flaring up. But my contour/bronzer has been allowed to wander a bit as I have a rather square face with sagging jowls at the jawline, and I believe contouring to camouflage these problem areas is an art form fully understood only by pros like yourself. Geography, topography and working with a light hand are tough subjects for me. So thank you for your explanation of that imaginary vertical line. And thanks for your energy and focus!
Wayne, I happened to come across your videos when searching for a "How to apply blush" tutorial. Your videos are, by far! , the best I've come across. Great instruction and explanation on why and how to do something. No unnecessary fluff or blabbing. I like short and sweet and concise. I've subscribed to your channel and plan to watch many of your other videos and tell my friends and family. Thank you for sharing!
Great video as always! My mum tells me to wear my blush higher and further back instead of hardly wearing any which I was doing recently bc the old way looked off, now I know why, and how to make it work! Thank you
I just came across your channel. Thank you SO much for your excellent tutorials. I’m 63 and cannot find any other tutorials targeting makeup for aging skin. Please keep them coming. Have liked and subscribed. 😀
So I have been incorporating this into my drag makeup routine for the past 5 months and I have to tell you it has made a huge difference. I am 52 years old, and this little tip really changes the final look. Thanks so much for this video.
Hi Wayne. My sister is getting married in 2 weeks and we are doing our own makeup. I have been watching your videos for some tips. As a woman with the big 50 birthday this year, I am finding your tips invaluable and can't thank you enough.
I love, love, love the way you explain the how's and why's. You are wonderful. Thank you so much. I'm 68 almost 69 and I am learning so much from you on how to do my face makeup.
Hi Wayne! I’m new to your channel, started watching your channel a few days ago, just wanted to say that i think you are fantastic! Have a nice weekend! 🙂 Love from Sweden 🇸🇪
Thank you so much for another great tute. Being an older chick I struggle with applying blush and highlighter which flatters. I will be taking your advice.
Love your videos! Quick question to clarify: should we move the invisible line depending on our eye makeup look (eg if we have a winged liner or cat eye, which visually extends the corner of our natural eye)? Or does that not really matter and we’re okay just keeping that invisible magic line static relative to the end of our natural eye shape regardless of our eye makeup? Thanks!! ❤❤
Hello Handsome! I love watching your videos and getting all of your tips for proper placement, and everything else I have learned from you over the years! This video was particularly helpful as I am always struggling with how far to come in towards the apple of my cheek when applying blush. Sometimes I struggle with wanting to look lifted but also not too pale. Thank you ❤
I have complained for years that people giving hints for makeup take forever to get to it. I end up fast forwarding or leaving. I'm new here and was so glad he gets right into his advice! Happy.Happy.Happy!!
Awesome tutorial! I'm 72 and gave up on makeup after retirement and Covid masking. Blush became a nonentity because of maturing skin... cracks/crevices. I used Elf creme blush this morning, putting it on (intuitively) where you demonstrated. I like the demonstration with the pen and tissue. I went to a friend's funeral this morning and the bit of makeup helped lift my spirits. She wore makeup all the time 😞
Wow! So simple, so beautiful, so Wayne! Thank you, kind sir, for keeping makeup simple, quick and beautiful! I love makeup and skincare but even at my age, almost 71 next month is my Bday, I don’t have a lot of time in the morning to sit and apply makeup! These videos are what I need in my life! When I leave my house I want to look pretty and put together. I want to feel confident that my makeup will last the whole day with just a few touch ups! Thanks again Wayne, your advice and tutorials are wonderful!🥰
Totally agreed with you! I see many MUAs working the blush and they reach to apply it from the apple of your face. It makes you look older and drag your expression down as well. I’m a Pro Makeup Artist and it’s what I do lifting lifting and lifting 😅ladies appreciate this tips lots. Hugs and love❤!
Wayne thank you for these latest videos I feel like we’re on the same wavelengths . I have been hating my face so much and dreading foundation blush concealer just all of it because my eyes are so hollow ! I’ve been breaking out too from trying so many different products 🤦♀️nothing works
Wayne Goss, do you know when your lighter foundation shades are going to come back in stock at Beautylish? Also, are you going to have a larger shade range? I missed the original launch and every lighter shade sold out pretty much instantly. I would REALLY like to try it as I am an older woman and this foundation has been recommended to me by SO many older women I know that were lucky enough and fast enough to get their hands on some. Seems like it is taking forever!!
I get it !!! and this is exactly what I m going for lately. I mean I am quite conscious of my face being pulled down as I am aging (I m genuinely embracing it BTW 🙃) however, the only problem is the harsh edges i feel like i have 2 faces when i do this technique if that makes any sense, it looks weird and unnatural 😅Guess I need to work more on my blending skills 😃
Oh I love makeup. Lately I’ve gotten the feeling that makeup is loving yourself, being kind to yourself. Yes there are more than one ways. But I enjoy the care it takes.
I'm so happy you aired this video. I have been using that method for years, maybe decades. I even observed that the late Queen would do this method on herself. I never
I’m pale and pink with cool undertones. (Ivory not beige). I find bronzer looks weird because it is too yellow or brown. I have a multi blush/contour/highlighter powder pack. I use the highlighter on my eyes, a natural flush if pink on my full cheeks, contour on my high cheekbones and the darker rose around the “bronzer area”. I find this warms me up and gives a nice but very subtle glow.
Thank you Wayne! I deeply appreciate your transparency (as we all have areas we'd like to minimize) and thoughtful step by step instruction. Now, we can be more beautifully confident.
Great video and really helpful. I wasn’t really sure exactly where to apply my blush. Now my make up looks so much better as my blush is now where it should be. Thank you. So many of the videos are made by young people for young people and whilst their make-ups are great they don’t specifically address problems for older people.
I tried this technique and I am amazed at how much better I look! Just recently I had been thinking that something was "off" about my face, (besides being 60, lol), and when I tried this technique, everything looked so much better! Thank you, Wayne, another great tip!
Thank you so much for these tips. Tried this the other day, had so many compliments. Mr Goss you are a genius. Thank you for looking after us older viewers! xx
i just loooooove the way you give the info straight off... thank you. This technique you show here sounds very interesting, I will definitely try it, but I have somewhat chubby cheeks and the seem to look better when I drag the contour forward a bit, actually almost up to my nose!
Ich bin noch Anfänger in Bereich Make up ! Und probier noch aus wo die richtige Platzierung von Blush in meinen Gesicht ist ! Leider gibt es unzählige Videos zu diesen Thema und Make up allgemein ! Ich bin noch jung werde diese Variante aber auch ausprobieren ! Alles liebe
I find right way of applying blush depends on your face shape and blush color. I‘m mid 40‘s and have a round face. I look way younger and fresher when I apply light rose blush right on my cheeks. Every time I tried another color or applying it more to the side made me years older looking.
Wayne, I hope you are blessed in your life. You bless us with your down-to-earth personality and skill. You are my favorite RU-vidr!!!!!!! I wasn't going to say it but I will anyway. You are also so handsome and witty. I get all the little innuendos. 😂 You are a natural!
Unfortunately I have only seen your video today, dear Wayne, but all the more I appreciate your tip! I also have these bags under my eyes, which is why I have not used highlighter for a long time - now I understand how I have to and can work with it, thank you for that!
Wayne, listening to you talk about makeup tips and techniques is like unwrapping exquisite chocolate and enjoying it. Rich and rewarding. Hope you're having a good one!
