Well said, Mary! The writer must transport the reader to another time and place and convey emotions. One must feel the story while writing it; syntax, grammar, and vocabulary occur as afterthoughts.
How providential that I came across this video! I am not writing a novel, but this is exactly what I needed to hear for my project. Wow. So simple and profound. After hearing what you shared I’m realizing that avoiding feeling is what’s kept me stuck (with getting things on paper)! I didn’t know it until I watched this video. Thank you, Mary!
