Thank you so much for this video! One of my vets suggested that issue with my younger dog as he as loads of tummy issues since puppy even though we always try to give them high quality food. First we figured out by ourselves that he has issues with high protein content (bad diarrhea!) then we varied the amound of wet and dry food to find a better combination for him. Both are eating grain free anyway, but the older dog is very good with the wet food we give her. But we struggled with him as he didn't like dry food since he was puppy. When the vet then said that chciken is getting a problem for especially bully breeds, I gave it a try. I even went poultry free which was a pain in the a*** as almost everywhere is chicken! And if not, then it is duck or turkey... we found enough treats and wet food and after a fail try with fish dry food (bad diarrhea as well) we found the only other available option on Orijen red meat dry food and dataaaa... so much better! He still has softer poo than the older dog and when he's nervous and/or excited he poops more and softer, but in comparison to before... And in between I still give them cooked chicken when I make chicken breast and was always wondering, why it doesn't seem to bother him and now I seem to have the answer thanks to you. I mean, I already learnt a lot from your videos, but that was kinda the missing puzzle piece. We still have skin issues with both, but our vets think they have some more allergy issues regarding grass pollen and other environmental things, which makes sense as they both flare up in summer time.

I started feeding my dog raw goats milk on his kibble in the morning. He loves it, and it helps lessen the itching because it is a natural antihistamine and anti-inflammatory. I plan to buy it in dehydrated form because it lasts longer and easier for travel. I'm working on a chicken free diet to see if that's the root cause. Hoping that's not it because he LOVES chicken gizzards, breast meat, bone broth, and poached eggs. Still, I have to try to find the culpret via isolation. The pup loaf I made for his dinner has chicken gizzards, but it is not organic. When all that loaf is eaten up, I'll switch to a nonpoultry grass fed gizzard for the next batch. I truly believe feeding our pets pasture raised organic chicken is the key. Non-organic hens are fed corn, and cornfields are sprayed with glysophate or herbicides, and I believe that herbicide residue is the culprit.

I noticed within the last couple of years since my dog has odd allergies, that most dog foods expensive and cheap food use tons of flaxseed, salmon/salmon oil, and pumpkin, which all 3 my dog is allergic to so I’m pretty sure it’s because she has overdosed on those things since there is excess in most processed dog food dry, canned and even freeze dried or cooked foods subscriptions.

I just discovered my dog’s allergy to chicken. I have an Airedale who is gums and nose started turning pink. We took her to the vet when her nose and ear hair started turning pure white. We took her to the vet and she was diagnosed with an immune disorder. They mentioned nothing about potential food, allergies. One day I just happened to buy lamb and rice simply nourish brand and her nose started to turn black again! She does not have any more white hair. Her gums have even started to turn black again in spots!

It seems like my basset hound is highly allergic to flaxseed. We had him tested since we detected some food allergies. Flaxseed popped high and we've noticed this has tracked as a common ingredient in the foods he's given. Ear yeast infection and itchy skin is the basic reaction. Other items that popped on the test were chicken, turkey, pork, whitefish, and white rice. We've struggled finding any food to feed him and our vet has him on Hill's z/d hydrolyzed chicken food. He's had a major improvement with this food, but with the recent worry over kibble, I'm wanting to make the jump to fixing homemade food for him. Do you know of any good/easy recipes we can fix for him?

Chicken is inflammatory, many humans have issues with chicken and eggs…hence bring asked if you are when you get a flue shot…

I never get a flu shot. 99 per cent of the time they guess the wrong one hahahahahah. how nuts
@niceguydmm

That makes no sense. What does a flu shot have to do with it? Would not take a flu shot myself of my dog?

With humans, it's often the egg whites they're allergic or sensitive to. Many people do fine with egg yolks.
@niceguydmm
@niceguydmm 7 месяцев назад
@@jennie9 I'm don't have any issue with egg myself but what about dogs? Mine love a raw egg or slightly cooked. I boil chicken for the food I make them. They seem to do fine verses canned dog food. I took them off all canned foods or any store dog food.
@jennie9
@jennie9 7 месяцев назад
@@niceguydmm I don't really know since I don't study these things but I would think that the same things that could potentially cause issues for humans could also potentially cause issues for our pets. I don't have any issues with chicken or eggs myself and I've never noticed my dogs or cats having any issues with them either. But some people and pets do. If your dogs don't seem to have any reactions to the eggs and other food you're giving them, then I'd assume they don't have any issues with any of it. I feed my one cat a mix of raw and wet food since she has an almost instantaneous vomit reflex to 100% raw food. I think it's due to the texture, not the actual content since it's not in her stomach long. Most of her food is chicken and turkey based because she won't eat red meat raw food since it causes her to vomit. I'm guessing it's that the bones aren't ground up enough, so the texture makes her vomit. I think of it as her having a very sensitive gag reflex. The other cat is almost 22 and extremely picky about her food, and since I want her to eat, she gets exactly what she wants - 1 brand of wet food and only 2 flavours of it and kibble. Luckily, she drinks lots of water and I found a kibble with an extremely low carb content.

My 3 year old Cairn Terrier has been excessively licking his paws and the vet said it was allergies. We thought it was an outdoor problem, but while on vacation, I stopped feeding him cooked chicken. His freshpet food has chicken, but he's stopped with excessive licking. Does this make sense?

So interesting, could this contribute to autoimmune diseases? My 6yo labradoodle has been dealing with an autoimmune disease (SLO) which involves the skin and nails. She is on chicken kibble n&d brand and farmers dog chicken, turkey and pork.

My Boxer is on a hydrolyzed protein diet until after Spring so see if that helps with her skin allergies. She's had yeast infections, fungal infections, hives, rashes and stomach issues her entire life and it gets worse every year. My vet is working with us to figure out what is irritating her. Could be environmental allergies or food. She's leaning more towards food. After spring we will try novel protein diets to see what she does good on! It's a process for sure!

My cat has developed dry skin and dandruff and I suspect the food. I haven't been able to get her to eat any wet food. I believe if I could get her off of the dry food at least somewhat, she'd do better.

You could try freeze-dried! Great ingredients and very minimally processed. I’ve found that a lot of kitties like it cause it’s crunchy. So it has that “crunch factor” that dry food has!

YES! Especially with these "complementary" wet foods being labeled as "wet cat food" instead of what it really is: an occasional treat and not nutritionally balanced or complete. I'M LOOKING AT YOU APPLAWS AND REVEL.

My 11 year old Italian Greyhound has just become extremely resistant to eating fresh baked chicken breast. This is the only chicken he eats, and in the past weeks, he smells it and won't eat it. The few times he does, he gets sick and lays there, basically waiting for it to get through his system. Finally, nearly a day later, he's fine again. Beef doesn't do this. Kibble doesn't do this. It's a recent realization for me, and I'm worried 😢

My now 14-year-old jack russell mix has always been allergic to chicken. When we first adopted her 13 years ago, we started with chicken, which always gave her the runs. We found eventually that beef, buffalo, venison, or goat worked fine. It has been tough, though, because I have been giving her glucosamine. Some of the popular glucosamine tablets are formed with chicken.

My dog is allergic to chicken. He has been on raw food for two years now, and before that he was given a fresh cooked food for a year. We had been struggling with kibbles since we adopted him trying to find something that wouldn't upset him but so many foods have chicken fat even if they arn't a chicken food. I dove off the deep end because I was going mad trying to make life more comfortable for Phantom. I am so glad that I did. I have tried on a few different occasions to reintroduce chicken as a protein because it would be a lot more cost effective for me, but every time I do he has GI upset. If I only use chicken liver or chicken heart it seems to be not too bad, but anything larger than that causes issues and every treat/kibble/what have you(fed to him by well meaning people) that has chicken causes some serious upset. Thankfully not eggs, though. He can eat eggs no problem! His favorite treat for the summer is a frozen egg. He doesn't eat the whole shell, but whatever he doesn't eat the plants appreciate as he usually gets these treats outside.

I havent seen an issue with boiled chicken. I don't touch canned dog foods.. I would not each chicken from the grocery store unless it was organic raised. Same for my dogs.. I been getting chicken meat from the local farmers.

My Dobermans were allergy tested and the results came back, with allergy to chicken, pork rice, sweet potatoes, peanuts, eggs. I’m sure I’m missing one or two. It’s pure misery feed these two. I’m starting a raw diet, but that worries me some too. I’ve never fed raw. They are only two,years old. What advice do You have for me? Is raw best?

I have 3 rescue pomeranians. Two are severely allergic to all poultry. One is allergic to poultry, cant digest beef, and is on a fish & insect protein diet with lots of dried pumpkin, sweet potatos, fish skins, and dried apples or berries for treats. Every dog is different. Our vet says certain breeds- like poms are way more prone to allergies in general. But esp. Poultry and meat proteins.

Prepping their food ourselves has helped drastically though. Honest kitchen fish & vegetable mixes, baked salmon, coconut oil... Mix with Stella and chewys ocean raw or jiminys insect protein foods. All the pups can eat together now with no issue
