What I’ve noticed in folks who are having pervasive relationship anxiety (you may relate to this as obsessive thoughts of leaving your relationship or being left, anxious/avoidant or fearful attachment, or Relationship OCD) is that talking about their obsessive thoughts in therapy or problem-solving around the thoughts can often make the issue worse.
Not because talking about your feelings is wrong or bad! But because you might be skipping over something more subtle, more vulnerable underneath what is ultimately a control issue and lack of self trust.
Relationship Anxiety is highly complex and nuanced struggle, but it can WAY easier when you’re working with someone who gets it.
