He is called Dharmaraj Yudhisthira because during those times names were given to people to remind them of their physical, mental and spiritual lineage. He was a vardan from Yama (Dharma) his spiritual father, he was a kshatriya and rightful heir to the throne. Yudhisthira (Steady on the battlefield). Literally Yudhisthira did not expect that Draupadi would be molested and disrobed in Rajyasabha he was not told that when he was staking her that this would be done to her if he lost. He was so angry that’s why he kept his eyes closed and said nothing because he had a superpower which needed to be controlled intensely, when he got angry his stare could burn someone down to ashes. I don't know how the Pandavas or Kauravas claimed inheritance. In reality both were not the blood line of the original kuru race. Shantanu's son was Bheeshma. He was the original heir. Both sons of Shantanu(Chitrangad and Vichtraveer) were heirless. Ved vyas was the biological father of Dhitirashtra , Pandu and Vidur. The matter was more complicated with Pandavad. Since Pandu could not conceive Kunti and Madri were impregnated with others to bear children. So technically both did not carry the blood line

13 years doubt is because in which method they counted 13 years. Were they counting in suryaman or chandraman . in chandraman for every three years you have an extra month ,so 13 years will complete in 12 years and 9 months .and add 3 extra or adhik month . Which will become 13 years but this changes in suryaman. So duryodhana picks up this logic and fights but dharmraj stays in hiding for more months also to compensate it.

Bhaiyoo ko to bet yudhistir ney lagaya thaa parantu Yudhishtar bet him in the gambling. He lost in it. Thus, he became a slave of Duryodhan/Kauravs or their team. A slave must do whatever that was ordered by his owner. Shakuni advised, of course ordered to put Draupadi at stake in gambling. Being a slave, he should do what they say. Otherwise, they’ll say that Yudhishtar doesn’t follow dharm and many more. So, in that situation, without any other option, he kept Draupadi at stake. But, he didn’t wish to. We think that he kept Draupadi at stake.

He was never selfish. I've read Mahabharat granth and Yudhishthir first opposed the gambling thing saying that a Kshatriya wins his property through war and not through Shatth and that playing Dyut is adharma but Shakuni gave him many such examples that made him believe that there is nothing wrong in it. Why did he put his wife & Brothers in stake? Understand it before judging - Dhritarashtra had done favor on Yudhishthir and all Pandavs had since their childhood, never made them fatherless, even when Pandavs stayed as ghar jamai for 1 year in Panchal Dhritarashtra called them back gifting them many things including half kingdom and many more things so they trusted and obeyed Dhritarashtra more than Maharaj Pandu too, it was Dhritarashtra's order to Pandavas that made them play this Dyut/gambling without even knowing how to play it just to obey their father-like. They kept their Putra Dharm above their achievements thus Yudhishthir kept in stake the treasure (that's what Duryodhan too kept in stake first), then as per the rule unless the host (Dhritarashtra) stops the game the game would continue, Yudhishthir wanted to get back what he lost because it was not his personal property it was his people's wealth & land which he had to earn back so to rescue his people from falling into Duryodhan's hands he kept his Raaj-Dharm above Nij-Dharm/Personal life keeping his brothers & himself in stake to rescue the people without waging a war. Pandavs were not insulted or laughed even after loosing, no Pandav brother was insulted maybe that's why on Shakuni's suggestion he agreed to keep Draupadi in stake believing she too won't be insulted like his brothers & he weren't so maybe that's why again here his focus was winning back people's wealth & freedom without any bloodshed. But when Draupadi was dragged in and insulted he by choice played a last round of 13yrs exile (there was 1 dyut, not 2.. the first last half and second's first half is an interpolation because Draupadi was on her periods when dragged in first dyut and she remained in same periods cloth with stains on it while leaving for Exile that proves the continuity) and Bheem saved Draupadi from being disrobed, all 4 brothers pledged to take her revenge, they themselves were insulted when Draupadi refused to arrive they were abused a lot but they responded and pledged to kill all only when Draupadi was insulted. Yudhishthir keeping his Pati Dharm above all played a last round keeping in stake a challenge of spending 13yrs in exile, he accepted this just to get proper time for the preperations which he'd not get if they returned to Indraprasth (which Dhritarashtra had returned back to him to calm down the audience Kings after freeing the Pandavs as boons given to Draupadi), therefore he considered playing the last round and it was his plan to prepare for war in these years. So according to me Yudhishthir & Pandavs were not wrong, their Putra Dharm/Trust on Dhritarashtra and Raaj Dharm were used, even Krishna & Draupadi calls them Victims, not Culprits. They did wrong but that was a mistake, not a sin because what happened was never their intention and not the result of any addiction. What happened to Draupadi was a result of Pandavs' trust on Dhritarashtra that he is their well-wisher which he always pretended to be till that day. Blind faith is the reason behind this adharm, not addiction as Yudhishthir never knew to play dyut and considered it Adharm plus No gambler puts himself in stake.
@@akashdhar9412 he was not at all addicted to gambling, not even 1% because he himself calls it Adharm and he accepts that he doesn't know to play it (even Krishna while reminding Karna his sins there Krishna too says the same that Yudhishthir didn't know anything of how to play the Dyut).. when a person doesn't know to play and just considers it adharm & sin, how can he be even slightly addicted to the game he doesn't know to play?
