A different reason, compatibility? In the anime at the end of the demon slayer exam, a crow approaches Zenitsu but he doesn't receive the crow amicably. One assumption Chuntaro saw this and offered to swap places or word got to the sparrow and was ordered to be Zenitsu's aide/sitter

@@wolfman2.055nope gyomei and tengen don't practice the real breathing style.. their style is derived from other.. tengen is derived from thunder breathing and gyomei is derived from water breathing.. But zenitsu is using the real THUNDER breathing.. so Yes i Believe zenitsu may not have now.. but if he had become hasira, he would have better hearing than them

It's seen while the crows were passed out, while in that one scene, when it shows everyone, in the background you can see how scared he is and even covering his head. Zenitsu has good hearing and crows are too loud and scare him.
