Yippee! taking out the sim then replacing it actually works... so simple, yet I spent many fruitless hours trying to sort this Wifi calling! Well done!
We don't have cell service at our home either. Did you pop out the SIM card and reinstall at your home, or did you go somewhere where you have service?
I can only enable my Wi-Fi calling if I have cell service. Which means I drive 5 miles from my home to get cell service, enable Wi-Fi, and drive back home. Called Verizon but they could not grasp “no cell service”. They kept trying to text me. Lol.
A Cast try this. I was told this by a T-Mobile tech. Go to settings, cellular, cellular data options and turn off the LTE. Then try making calls. I have the 11 Pro max and it was driving me nuts for months. It worked like a charm. It forces the iPhone to use WiFi calling. Just remember to turn LTE on when you leave the house. See my post on here I posted today about this. Let me know if it works for you.
You can also go into airplane mode (which completely turns off your phones cellular capability) and turn on WiFi Calling. Then it has no choice but to use WiFi... and it works flawlessly for calls and texting.
Thanks for the great video. My problem is that Wi-Fi calling is working. But the quality is choppy at times which results in "can you hear me?". I bought a new iPhone 11 hoping this problem would be fixed from iPhone 8. No joy!!! We also have Android phones with WiFi calling enabled and they work fine. Thanks!
If you leave a wifi network will the iphone automatically switch to cell tower reception then when you go back to wifi it will automatically switch to wifi calling again?
Whoa!!!!!! This fixed it for me. We live in a high rise and have dropped calls so often in downtown L.A. When I turned on airplane mode I couldn’t dial out, now it works!!!
@@levissilly7069 mine is still not working after doing network reset and removing the sim. Wifi signal is fine and I have previously used this setting for 5 years as I live in a area with no coverage. 4 days ago it just randomly stopped working and now I can’t make or receive any calls. Do you have any other suggestions?
I enabled Wi-Fi Calling on my mobile and could not understand why it was not working. Took the sim card out and pushed back in and Wi-Fi calling is now working........................Awesome video 👍🏾👍🏾
wanted like heck for this to work. Still getting an error message after I choose 'enable.' Could not find any recognizable digits is what it says, which means nada to this trog.
Wi-fi calling suddenly stopped working. iPhone 7 plus with Fido (Quebec, Canada), IOS 13.2.2 Different places/routers = same result, Where others in my family still works. None of the followings has worked. 1. iPhone off-on 2. Hard reset (Sleep/Wake + Volume Down) 3. Toggle wi-fi calls off-on 4. Toggle cell data off-on 5. Reset network setting 6. Reset all settings 7. Removed/re-installed sim card 8. iTunes restore (re-install 13.2.2). No recent back-up available. 9. Called my cell provider; Network reset 10. Called Apple support
WIFI CALL ING is wonderful when do not want to use either carrier. How do we know when we are using WIFI calling? If the WIFI goes off, prefer not to make a call.
I've always been able to enable Wi-Fi calling on my iPhone 8 and it connects but it would never actually make or receive calls using my home network unless I turned off LTE in the settings. With the latest update it takes away the ability to turn off LTE so I now turn on airplane mode when I am home and as long as I'm connected to my network it forces the phone to use the Wi-Fi for calling. I just have to remember to turn off airplane mode when I am not at home. I get poor reception at home using the cell phone reception, I get much better reception with the Wi-Fi calling.
Removing and replacing the SIM works for me but the wifi calling turns off after a little bit for some reason and I have to do it all over again. What should I do?
You can also go into airplane mode (which completely turns off your phones cellular capability) and turn on WiFi Calling. Then it has no choice but to use WiFi... and it works flawlessly for calls and texting.
My WiFi calling is not showing in the settings on 2 of my iPhones and the other it is. It's the same service yet it doesn't even show up in the options. What can i do to force ios to show me wifi calling options?
Do newer iPhones work any better for WiFi calling? I have an iphone 8 and need to reset it about once a week to enable WiFi calling. Little or no cell service here at home
Brian Egan new iPhones are worse but there is a work around. Go to settings, cellular, cellular data options. Turn off the LTE. It forces the iPhone to make WiFi calls. I was told by a tech it’s an iPhone thing. Just remember to turn LTE back on when you leave the house. I have very poor signal as well. This worked like a charm.
TheJessr1 go to settings, cellular, cellular data options and turn off LTE. It will force iPhone into WiFi calling. I have the 11 ProMax and it plagued me for months. It worked like a charm. Don’t forget to turn it back on when you leave the house.
@@toddlevick6016 Yes I've been doing the same turning off LTE when I've been home but the latest update 15.4.1 on my iPhone 8 removed the "Voice & Data" setting so there doesn't seem to be a way to turn off LTE anymore. So I guess from now on when I return home I will just put my phone into airplane mode and with Wi-Fi turned on the phone should be forced to use Wi-Fi calling.
Can someone please help me I did all the steps and it says WiFi calling but it want let me press it and I contacted my carrier they didn’t know what to do 🤦🏽♀️
Hey guys please help! I can’t get the Split View on my iPad 5th gen. I tried everything but it’s not working! What’s your suggestion to fix this problem? Please hellllpppppp 😢😢
No account or number with ATT in us. Tried your settings and get 4 pages of “You Can’t Do That” after it says to call AT&T. Disabled so will continue with Magic Jack 5 year plan that works fine with $20 internet. Did not work for me:( No, I don’t think red haired guy is a fox! Thanks tommy long!
Hello guys may someone help me I have any iPhone 7 when I’m calling internationally my call is ringing but being answered by someone from a different country who I don’t know I have put the country code but it’s still the same please help me
That didn't work. Iphone 6s on Spectrum mobile moving from At&t where wifi calling worked. I exhausted 2 different tech support people at Spectrum to no avail. Did everything imaginable. No luck. Then I tried a hard reset (that alone didn't work) and configuring Wifi calling with cellular data turned off. Boom. It works. No clue as too why.
Thanks for the video, after setting and rechecking the settings 100 times, the sim card eject and replacement fixed my problem of not connecting for wifi calling. Thanks a bunch. Turning phone off and on did n;t do the trick
Wi-Fi Calling just isn’t in my settings at all (iPhone 7) I’m on total wireless and I called them and they said that Wi-Fi calling should be there and can be enabled
